I quite like your cards, thought they were very interesting! ^^

Would just make a remark about one card, I thinkk Poet has the probability of being semi-useless in a lot of boards, specially if you add all the other expansions in the mix. I would consider adding an optional discard in the top, making it similar to Oasis with a 5 card hand, what do you think?


Edit: Iīll also add one thought about Criptex, I personally think itīs very high variance, for example, I think itīs an excellent opener, and just because if you   have it on your second hand in the second shuffle, itīs 100% guaranteed to work. Now consider a mirror where both players open Criptex, thereīs a very high chance that if one player gets second hand Criptex while the other doesnīt, leads to a game thatīs very much in favor of the player that had itīs Criptex activated.

I think pretty much the only similarity between herald and vassal is how with both you really want very high action density decks.  And while both are strong in the right conditions, Iīd say herald is a lot better card. Due to a few reasons

While +coins is important, itīs +cards and +actions, that actually allow us to do crazy stuff. A herald based deck can look at the 9(usually) other action cards in the kingdom and figure out whatīs the best payload. Vassal needs to look at the other 9 kingdom cards and figure out how to build an engine with them. (And thatīs a major point with vassal, itīs definetely an engine card, but it doesnīt actually help much in making the engine work)

Both herald decks and vassal decks will mostly need trashing, but the first will generally be looking for a +coins action card while the second needs village support, my point here is not that the former is more common than the latter (which I believe is true, but I really have no data to back this statement), but that in the later you actually need a village in hand before you can safely play the vassal, this means a vassal based deck is much more prone to duds than a herald based. This also leads to my last point

Vassal fits in a rather clunky space of Dominion cards that Iīll call maybe-terminals, itīs a card that when you play it you donīt know if itīs gonna be a terminal or not (If I recall  correctly the only other cards that are like this are Golem and Tribute, but I may be forgetting someone). That can lead to very diffcult decisions where you have a vassal and another terminal and donīt know which to play, itīs the weirdest thing in the card for me...



Well... That said, I donīt think Vassal is a weak card, itīs very interesting engine payload, you just shouldnīt expect there to be vassal decks in the same way that we see herald decks...

Baths/Mission

I just saw this funny little interaction between Baths and Mission in a game I just played. Paying 4 for mission and doing nothing for two consecutive turns, actually nets you more points than buying Duchy (credit should go to my opponent though (a player called Mediocre Unicorn) I just copied what he did afterwards).

This made me remind of a game where my opponent got a bunch of scouts (actually BUYING a couple of them) and making fantastic use of them for the win. I caught up to what he was doing and got scouts of my own, making it so we actually completely drained the scout pile, but unfortunately it was to late for me...

Suppose that you could get endless VP, but not end the game.  The opponent might be able to pull off the same combo next turn.

I'm not sure about other ways to do this (if there are), but you can easily prevent other players from performing the combo by simply emptying out the Forum pile once you've reached a suitably high number of points, say, twice the possible amount available from Victory cards in the game.


You can technically do that if you have Ambassador (and in the most likely scenario you would also need at least two Forums in your deck before your opponnent pulls off the combo). But if Ambassador is not around, I donīt think it would be possible for the opponent to pull of the combo a second time.

Another noteworthy fact, is that if your +1 card token is on Tournament and you draw a province with the first card, then you can claim your prize, since  the tokens resolve before anything written on the card...

Yesterday I played a new player (he had only one previous game recorded on gokosalvager) in a board that featured King's Court, Scheme, and Sabouteur. I'm very sorry for making you believe, like many begginers do, that Sabouteur is actually a good card. That was the first time in my almost 3000 games of Dominion where I believe, Sabouteur was actually good for anything else than a desperation gamble (which has never worked, by the way...). I'm afraid that the experience might be quite a setback in your evolution as a player (and maybe even in your enjoyment of this amazing game) and I feel truly guilty for that.

It was not our last game (so not the 24 hour issue) and there were unrated (and rated) ones which I managed to find. I even changed to allow all the options (even the ones that didnīt make sense) to no luck. I didnīt check the log just after the game, so I have no idea if anything would happen or not.

When I noticed the missing log my first reaction was to think we only played 5 games, but when I noticed this one was missing I was sure this was not the case. We even had another Scrying Pool/Artificer game afterwards, and I really kicked myself for not managing the interaction so well in the second game...

Oh well... Good thing is, that even if Iīm wrong and I really dreamed up the whole thing, it canīt really have any effect on the league final standings so no harm done... ^^

I was looking through my logs on gokosalvager, and noticed that one of my games in my last league match against SearingSpear92 was apparently missing.

It was a particularly painful Scrying Pool/Menagerie/Artificer game where my turns took almost 10 minutes of continous clicking (donīt know if that might have anything to do with it, the log should have been pretty big), and it ended up particularly ingrained in my mind, so Iīm pretty sure Iīm not dreaming and we did not play only 5 games.

Has anyone else ever noticed this happening before?

I had a new idea for a feature request (at least one I don't remember reading about):

You know this very small share of stalemate games, where "everyone starves to death"?

It would be nice to have something like a Propose Draw button, and if both players accept, the game will automatically end in a draw.

I think in those small cases, it should end in a tie automatically, but that is my personal opinion.
Well, sometimes someone has a tight advantage in such scenarios. Enforcing the tie wouldn't be fair then.

In stalemate situations I feel that if you think youīre in the lead and that a tie is not fair, youīre pretty much obliged to attempt to break out of the stalemate, if you think you canīt get out with an advantage I feel like a tie couldnīt be fairer.

The first person to get there always empty the Forums after getting whatever giant # of VP. Why would they need to be able to end the game? The combo is no longer accessible by the opponent.

I forgot you could just empty the Forum piles... Stupid me... hehe

Though if Ambassador is in the game things can still get crazy....

For cost reduction I think Ferry can help a lot

With Goons and cost reduction, Trader/Forum can actually gain infinite VP tokens rather than just doing nothing infinitely.

Ah yes; so as long as the combo is Trader/Forum/Goons, I agree. Or Merchant Guild.

A mirror with this combo should be a fun thing to play....

Just my quick take on the game:

I think your second shuffle was pretty harsh, crossroads isnīt terrible, but getting to 3 or 4 here for FV or Feast would be quite important, this combined with a very slight favor to the feast opening, gave an slight edge to your oponent in the early game...

This advantage, though, wasnīt really significant until the doctor buy, I really really donīt like doctor here. I donīt feel like you needed it and itīs just to much of an unreliable trasher for this point in the game. That while being a stop card that didnīt improve your economy. Reading the log it feels like the turning in the game, from that point on the distances between your decks justs keeps growing.

I would say he definetely got a bit lucky in the end, he definetely doesnīt have a deck to get 7 provinces in a row without stalling even once, that being said, I do feel like he has a good deck, and if that was something like 6 provinces in like 8 turns I wouldnīt really be surprised.

My avaliation of this game is that you had some bad draws, and made one big mistake, and while your opponent did get pretty lucky in the end, it was only after the game was pretty close to being decided.

A few other things:

-While I did dislike the doctor, I donīt know how I feel about getting a second upgrade here, I know I would certainly be tempted to get it
-I looked up your opponent on isotropish and he has a rather very bad rating, that being said however, I feel like he made a very clean game, he played quite well and didnīt make any obvious mistakes. His rating certainly is not reflected on this game.
-And lastly... This is only my humble two cents... Youīre a much better player than I am so take everything I say with a grain of salt... ^^
