Dominion Articles / Re: Hunting Party

Really ? I feel like it's overrated actually. Most people seem to think that it's just better than Laboratory when it often isn't.

Of course when there's an insanely powerful card in your deck, such as Mountebank/Witch, Chapel, Ambassador Possession or arguably Platinum it's very good, but it can also be very lackluster.

Also, trashing is good.

Very good. As said before, Chapel is one of the better cards in the game. Do not hesitate to trash Estates or Coppers whenever you can (although that can also change, it is a good general principle).

And don't read too much of theory's article since they tend to be adressed to experienced players (Beyond Silver is the example of an article that is exceptionnally valuable for a semi-experienced player, but probably doesn't help a newbie ^^).

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Duke Analysis?
« on: June 13, 2011, 11:39:22 am »
Well that's kind of the usual situation I find myself going Duke, but I'd be interested in which situations Duchy/Duke is an actual strategy, kind of like Gardens. I remember playing one of the proposed sets in the Intrigue rulebook which had Scout, Duke, Nobles, Great Hall, Ironworks and so on and actually going for that strategy (with Scout as a MVP), but I'd like to know if everyone thinks there are some sets if going Duke/Duchy from the get go is worth it, and which ones.

I guess Hoard is a facilitater, Scout too.
