Yay, Guilds previews!

If anyone wants to post the obligatory bad luck Brian, go ahead. :)

Here'a few in line with our guilds teaser for today.

You can name the ace of spades if you just want to draw next 3 cards, right?

Sage skips the Vineyards-#sober4life
So that's why Donald put Gardens to Base set, instead of Vineyards.

Quote from: Donald X. from The Secret History of the Alchemy Cards
Vineyard: This was originally in the main set! And Gardens was in Alchemy (with the costs switched)

First, you donate money and Estates to the church in the Chapel, in the hopes of being blessed with a highly productive populace. After a while though, it becomes eerily clear that the dominant religion in Dominion-Land definitely isn't catholicism; when the Chancellor, Baron and Coppersmith wander into the Chapel, only to disappear forever...
At least they are properly buried there because the local Graverobbers can easily find them*.

(*unless there's a bridge or a highway built on the graveyards)

If you first send your Scout to explore the surroundings, you'll usually have a better idea which way to go at Crossroads.

Variants and Fan Cards / Re: "Fixing" cards that you don't like
« on: May 22, 2013, 02:52:45 am »
Here's my "fix" for Scout:

Scout

Action 4$
+1 Action
Reveal the top 4 cards of your deck. Put the revealed Victory cards into your hand.
If none of the revealed cards were victory cards, put one of them into your hand.
Put the rest back in any order

So it's always at least a cantrip.

I wonder if people actually got it was a Scout.  :-\

Um, yeah, I missed that. I think it is because the face is your meme is much too well-drawn and realistic to be Scout. ;)
It's scout from TF2
"This is scout, curses make me cry. Over"

More finnish things:

-Forge doesn't say cost in coins
-Alchemist says: "when you discard this...". No during your clean-up phase clause.
-Fairgounds is called "Markkinat" which means market or fair. The correct translation would be "Huvipuisto" and it's actually called this way in Hinterlands rulebook once in one of the 10 recommended sets.
-Trading post doesn't have "if you do"
-For some reason Tactician gives "+1 ostos". It means "+1 buy" and normally it's "1 osto". It's means basically the same but still amuses me  :P.

Also, there may be a card in Guilds like:

Awesome silver
Treasure - 4
Worth 2$
---
When you reveal or discard this (other than during your clean-up phase), put it into your hand.
If there is, it would cost at least $5.
You are right. I didn't realize that this card would make Scout and Spy even more OP!

Am I the only one who didn't realize that when I first saw the card?

Wrong. This is not the case when you've drawn your deck.

Dominion meets the real life!

This shows that the things that are usually bad in Dominion, could be very helpful in real life.

In real life this makes no sense but in Dominion it does

My latest discovery:

...
- $5; Action4: "Trash a Silver for +$5 +1 Buy." A bigger Moneylender. No-one was ever very interested in it.
...
From the Secret History of the Prosperity Cards

Sage knows how to play checkers : forget about your pawns to save your knights and bishops !

I think you mean chess.
Also, he skips Trusty Steed because he knows it's really hard to checkmate with a single horse but a whole bunch of them can do wonders, so he stops at the Stables and Horse traders.

IRL, Horn of plenty is very fast to play. You only have count the actions in play ! And fairgrounds only matter at the end of the game.
Treasures in play too  ;)

My combo: Scheme/Armory/Throne Room/Tresure Map

1) Open Scheme/Armory
2) Topdeck Scheme until you get it in same hand with Armory
3) Play Scheme, gain Throne Room on deck with the Armory and topdeck the Armory
4) TR+Armory --> two Treasure Maps on deck
5) Profit
