Dominion Online at Shuffle iT / Re: How many Players?

Wow, I didn't know there were so many of them. Makes me feel even better that I'm in the top 100
(for now)
(for now)
I was playing an IRL 4-player game about 2 years ago. I don't remember the exact details, but I calculated my chances of getting as unlucky as I did to be 1/660.
The other players build huge engines and I got frustrated, trying to keep it in. Since I was so far behind, I figured my only chance was to 3-pile and have them somehow not realize. They didn't green, and I kept thinking they'd go off any minute and demolish the Colonies (they had already built up to double-colony each turn.)
I was winning 10-0-0-0 on my turn with 2 piles empty and one Platinum left, and I had enough to buy the Platinum. I bought it, and was like "Okay it's over gg everyone count up points." This caused an uproar and everyone else "asked" for an undo...
Undo request was denied.
I wish. They proceeded to do their turns over and buy all the colonies.
I think that if Harbinger cost $2 instead of $3 and Bureaucrat and Mine were removed from 2nd edition Base Dominion, it would be the best Dominion set.
We all know Triple Gear is nuts
More like not very good.
(To explain the joke further: You don't know which Hex do deal out before playing Werewolf, so arguing which one is better is pointless)
Personally, I think if the estates were provinces it would still be the best move to trash them a significant portion of the time. It's especially fun to do via Bishop. You're only coming out 1 pt behind, but your deck is one card thinner. It's like a "reverse Curse"
This YouTube link is to Rick Astley: http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?board=50.0
One of the great tragedies of our generation is how Youtube's preroll ads have ruined the comedic timing of such a cherished meme.
One of the great comedies of our generation is how you can block the ads with a browser extension. (or if you're on Opera, you don't even need an extension)
I liked the MF implementation of Dominion. I mean, ShuffleIt is an improvement, but I had zero issues with the old one.
I actually don't like ShiT. It's better than any other implementation we've seen so far, but Dominion is a very complex-to-play game and the client doesn't do enough to make it feel more effortless, and also the loading times are longer than they should be due to being a browser based client.
The fact that that youtube link wasn't to Rick Astley had me skeptical at first
I really like the set, but Possession probably needs to go.
Some of the hate expressed towards Alchemy that I've heard, is that the expansion is so small it's almost impossible to get two or more different cards with Potion in it's cost when using a fully random method of picking a kingdom. Most of them aren't powerful enough to justify buying a Potion by themselves, luckily.
For a great example of a board where a Rebuild strategy was attempted by a top player and was completely outclassed, see the World Cup Tiebreaker Match Game 5 here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/243923741 (Game 5 starts at 2:11:30).
Huh. Horn of Plenty no longer has the big on it.
Yeah, it's no Margrave, but I mean come on, Margrave is crazy.
This is the big takeaway for me: Margrave is nuts.
I like playing Settlers of Catan.
Also, it's a game. Is having a card called "Witch" implying you condone witchcraft? By that logic, Militia means you're going to raise an army, Torturer means you've got a dungeon in your basement.... like I dunno. It just seems silly.
It's just a game, there's no such thing as real magic.
I am confused... why would you have a problem with Witch and Curse, but not with Haunted Castle and an Enchantress turning people into pigs? I could understand having a problem with all of them, but only with some...?
