Champion and Diadem work very well. It pretty much makes all +Action become +$.

My own puzzle: In a 2 player game, how can you open Province/Tournament?

Edit: My solution states that the opponent goes first, buying Ferry and putting it on Grand Market.

Opponent plays three Coppers to buy Ferry on Lost City.
You play four Coppers to buy Tournament.
Opponent plays four Coppers and a Baker coin to buy Ball, gaining two Lost Cities. You shuffle and draw Tournament and a Copper.
You play Tournament and draw another Copper, then play five Coppers and a Baker coin and buy Borrow and a Province.

That works, but how about T1 Province and T2 Tournament?

I went for Pages too late in a multiplayer game. Opponents decided not to upgrade their Treasure Hunters, leaving me with only one. Also, playing with all of the events is a terrble idea.

Messenger, Ferry, Ball, Borrow on the board.

Opponent buys Ferry, putting it on Grand Market.
I buy Ferry, putting it on Grand Market.
Opponent buys Messenger, both of us gain Grand Market.
I buy Borrow for +1, and buy Ball, gaining two Grand Markets.

I draw three Grand Markets on T3.

Ferry or Borrow guarantees opening with a $5 cost card.
Pathfinding with Magpie works pretty well. It is either an activated Menagerie (+3 cards +1 Action) or a Lab that gains you a Lab.
Inheritance counters Haunted Woods during early-game since you can play your Estates. Plus, you can save them for next turn if you want.
Treasures with effects aside from the $ they provide are very useful with Storyteller. (Quarry, Contraband, Coin of the Realm, Treasure Trove are some that come to mind.)
Distant Lands works well as a source of VP in slogs, since slogs take longer and the Distant Lands "islands" itself from your deck.

Dominion General Discussion / Storyteller + Bank?
« on: April 21, 2015, 09:49:09 pm »
Note: this is my second post, so my article writing skills might not be great.

Bank loves large handsizes with lots of treasure. However, engines, which are usually geared towards drawing a large handsize, tend to do worse when treasure, needed for Bank, is being drawn instead of engine parts. Storyteller, on the other hand, provides non-terminal sifting/drawing which powers up Bank considerably. Plus, Storyteller keeps the spent treasure in play, allowing money to be generated from already spent treasure. Bank could possibly reach $5+ due to the treasure in play.

Works with:
The all-important +buy
Treasure gainers
Other sifters to discard green cards

Counters:
Junkers
Lack of +buy
Faster strategies

Any thoughts?

Dominion General Discussion / Poor House + Black Market?
« on: March 04, 2015, 11:43:19 pm »
Hi, this is my first post.
This interaction takes advantage of Black Market's ability to get treasures out of hand and into play (similar to bm+tactician) to maximize poor house's coin.
I'm not sure how well this interaction works, though.
Any thoughts?
