As someone who's played probably about a third of the set, I think I might be able to spoil that um... there are cards that do things and other cards that do different things. I hope it's not too much information if I reveal that there are action cards, treasure cards, and victory cards involved.

Here are a few more that I try to live by:
Make your deck go round and round. ~attributed to Stef, actually said to me by Adam
(Way more prevalent in engines than anything else, of course, and with a few limits. This mostly refers to cycling and being able to play your key cards more often.)
Think in shuffles, not in turns. ~Titandrake, possibly learned from someone else
(Relevant when gaining/buying cards - if gained during the same shuffle, they will show up at similar times regardless of which turns you gain them on.)
Speed is key. ~jacksepticeye
(Yeah I know he didn't say this about Dominion but it still applies. Some strategies are faster than others, and you don't want to lose because of slow timing.)
Assume your opponent won't screw up. ~me
(It's one thing to hope that their deck will stall or they'll miss a forced win or something, but if you know what their deck is capable of, you don't want to hand them the win just by making it more likely for no reason.)

I feel like there should be an article about this - probably not citing specific cards that much, but mechanics and such.
There's something to be said about doing things on your last turn that you would almost never do any other time - trashing your last key card, passing your opponent something good, buying 30 coppers, etc. And it's because you know it won't hurt if you mess up your deck, since you won't need to use it again.

« on: February 04, 2016, 12:37:01 am »I have to admit, I spent a couple of hours at work mapping out how many action cards you could play from various combinations of King's Court, Throne Room, Procession, and Disciple (I forgot Royal Carriage though). Then I got the thought "Hey, you can turn Processions OR Throne Rooms into Band of Misfits, which you can use as those cards, which you can Graverob back, which..." and then my brain imploded.
So I got a start. And I'm not going to get a finish.
1. Ferry Graverobbers
2. Start playing BoM as Processions and Graverobbers, gaining themselves in the process
3. ???
4. Profit
Oops, Dominion.exe has crashed. Don't worry, I didn't know about the BoM/cost reducer glitch for a while either.
