$6
+3 Cards
+2 Actions
gain a Curse
gain a Ruin
...okay, Rats-ish
What about a Rats type card promo?
As I understand the definition, to constitute a combo your entire strategy should revolve around just those cards.
So Native Village/Bridge or Beggar/Gardens are combos because you don't need to buy any other cards to win.
Not miss-clicks but I have a couple of times tried to be too clever for my own good when attempting to end games.
Game 1
I had a slight lead and there was 1 province remaining. Unfortunately I only had 6 to spend. I then had the bright idea that I could buy Farmland, trash the province in my hand and gain the last province that way . My opponent bought that last province on his next turn and won.
Unless "slight" means 4 or more points, then it wouldn't have mattered if you knew the exact wording of Farmland and bought a Duchy instead.
A lead of 3 would still matter as second player.
Has there been a set before with nothing so close to a smithy variant? I guess it's Haunted Woods or Ranger, but both don't quite feel right. (Not complaining, just interesting)
My gut tells me to avoid Potion/University. Procession can be used to do everything University does -- gain cards and give + actions. You'd be fine Processing away WMs for actions because the game is not going to last long -- so you don't need to hold on to more than a few WMs. I would go for some sort of Procession-WM-Council Room-Militia thing, adding in a Vault for the large majority of my economy (i.e. after playing a Council Room or 2). Feed your Procession with 2 $4 cards each buy (not just 1, as you mention) via Stonemason, or even from Stonemasoning a $5 into 2 $4s.
Death Cart/Vineyards is nice. Clearly you wouldn't build a deck around it, but if you have a strong Vineyards deck anyway, not only does Death Cart pump up your Vineyards by 1 each time (as long as Ruins remain), but they can help you end the game since you only need 5 of them to empty a pile.

How come the app doesn't appear after I install it? Is there another step? I am using chrome. It says installed and "activated" but it doesn't show up under apps or anything.
I'm not clear on what you're looking at. See the attached screenshots and let me know how yours differ.
Secret Chamber, Market Square, Moneylender, Apprentice, Band of Misfits, Counterfeit, Cultist, Junk Dealer, Venture, Grand Market
If the game ends normally, are duration cards which are in play counted for gardens?
I imagine they are. The instructions are very clear about what cards are returned to the deck at the end of the game. I assume this glitch only occurs because the game doesn't actually end, so it never tries to return those cards to the deck. I at least have never noticed an incorrect score for Alt VP cards.
Thank you. I am just trying to figure it all out yet. I am very still lost and have not got a great grasp yet. I have not joined the online Dominion but have been considering it. I just want to make sure I have a decent grasp first. I still look at the cards and end up buying by impulse and not with a plan. Some point I will hopefully have it start to click.
Will make a better version once a bigger file size image comes out.
Ferry + Trashing attack -- place the -$2 cost token on Province or some other juicy target that is normally too expensive to hit.
Ferry only works on Actions.
Oops. So scratch Province and only have it on some other juicy target... I guess there are fewer of those, but there are still some!
Scrying Pool + Saboteur
Scrying Pool + Knights
Scrying Pool + Swindler
Keep cards on top you want to hit. After the Scrying Pools run out you can use Swindler to remove Scrying Pools from their deck (and there's probably no other $2P card on the board, so they won't even get anything in return).
You have 4 Provinces, 2 Harems, and a Farmland, totaling 30 points. Your opponent has 3 Provinces, 6 Nobles, and 7 VP chips, totaling 37 points. He played 2 Nobles on his turn before you resigned. The log displays your opponent as incorrectly having 33 points because he played 2 Nobles.
When the game ended, the screen showed that I was only down 33-30. Are you saying it would have shown that I was ahead 29-30 if he played 2 more Nobles?
Yes.
This obviously doesn't matter since Resignation is the overriding factor on who won. But it does look weird.
But do you really "buy" events or do you spend a buy to use its action? I don't think you keep the card, so therefore you did not purchase it.
Yes, it's something you buy. It fully fits the Dominion definition of "buy". It's just not something you gain.
An Event is something you can buy in your Buy phase that isn't a card. You pay your $, you use up a Buy, and something happens.
