Puzzles and Challenges / Re: An "Empty the Supply" Variant

Base is bit sloggy but its interesting that mine is great here as it trashes treasures without decreasing handsize.

colonies are for silk road,+fairgrouds points not gain. Easier way to block amb is to use lighthouse, moat and trade. And current implementation bm contains lot more than 15 cards which would be quickly empty in it 2p games

Kingdom: Overlord, Black Market, Tunnel(Bane), Feodum, Gardens, Islands, Silk Road, Band of Misfits, Charm, Groundskeeper, Mandarin
That still leaves lot of vp as it uses worst victory cards instead of best. In online game castle came as bane which improves points. I could get princess and return province to supply with amb by having player 2 moat, p3 procession lighthouse and p4 lurker lighthouse. Also colonies for bit more extra points.

Best vp are fairgrounds with bm containing everything they are worth 125 points each, without only 36. Similar with gardens that go around 50 points. Silk road is about 30 points each, if you count victories in black market deck. Feodum is only 13 points and duke 12 each.

Castles are best one as bane.  kings is worth most from green in hand and estates.

When I sum using gardens, fairgrounds, silk road, feodum and castles I get around 1600 vp.

First remake-chapel is one of best openings here. It gives early economy, best trashing if they don't collide and you could turn chapel into silver after trashing most of deck.

Ambassador sucks when there is better trashing like in this game, It gives bad economy and any junk will be trashed next turn.  Here I would get remodel/stewards/lost cities mid game and with milling provinces game will be quickly over.

Cultist-bm is usually best thing on board with cultist. Unopposed with average luck it delivers all ruins by turn 10. Dealing with that gives so much time to get 5-6 provinces with cultist bm. Torturer isn't even close unless you could get lost arts/cotr.

Also jack/donate tends to be lot of times best strategy as it piles provinces. Its better than bonfire-jack.

Optimized. 2597 vps just from Groundskeepers and such
overlords as charm
how does that work?
and how do I play Overlord as Groundskeeper? Its pile is now empty.

But you gave me nice idea. With Mandarin and Horn of Plenty, we can have another Victory pile.
Easy technical detail, move getting/playing last groundskeeper with workshop at bottom. You couldn't do much better than my solution as all piles except crown, black market and mandarin are victory or played as groundskeeper. There is little vp improvement of feodum instead of duke or castles as yw bane if rules allow it.

Not very optimized, lot of piles could be in black market like in my previous post.

Better is

overlord, black market, charm, band of misfits, groundskeeper, tunnel(bane), fairgrounds, gardens, silk road, duke, mandarin. Events ferry, inheritance.

Get all 24 estates, 10 overlords, 9 charm, 9 bom, 9 keepers, and all cards dominion cards in black market deck. Get everything in hand from bm native village.
Crown-artisan last bom/groundskeeper.
Play black market with 10 overlords as charm and 9 charms, for gains. gain mandarin with hop redraw with city quarter
Play black market with 10 overlords as charm and 9 charms, for gains. gain mandarin with university, redraw with cellar
Play black market with 10 overlords as charm and 9 charms, for gains. gain mandarin with hop, redraw with storeroom
Play black market with 10 overlords as charm and 9 charms, for gains. gain mandarin with artificer, redraw with crossroad
Play black market with 10 overlords as charm and 9 charms, for gains. gain mandarin with hop redraw with cantrips.

play overlords and bom as groundskeepers.
procession-bridge, get bridge back with lurker, kc-bridge, princess, highway, bridge troll, rc bridge, 1 short to empty colonies.
get all provinces, duchies, dukes, fairgrounds, gardens, silk roads and tunnels.

Doctor(bane), black market, hunting grounds, duplicate, gardens, feodum, groundskeeper, charm, counterfeit, fairgrounds, duke, inheritance, tower.

4p game. Get 24 estates from bm masq. Inherit them as groundskeepers.

With nv draw deck and discard with storeroom.
Gain last cards of piles with ironworks/workshop.
 Play kc/bridge, princess, highway.
counterfeit charms for 20 buys.

Buy doctor, overpay lot coin tokens from bm baker.
Reveal tunnel/trader to empty silver/gold and trash 10 hg for duchies.
Gain/duplicate 12 gardens, 12 fairgrounds and 2 duchies, last copper and potion, death cart and rats. Gain curse from embargo.

As vp its 864 groundskeeper vp, 180 for duchy/duke, 156 feodum, 190 tower, 600 vp gardens, don't know about fairgrounds. Add few vp from trashing crumbling castle, vineyard and silk road.

I have another hilarious discussion.  Board was baker, steward, shanty town, millitia, port, wedding. Rest irrelevant. Game chat was quite hilarious.

Opponent doesn't understand that with double steward opening collision doesn't matter as best what you could buy when you trash is silver/shanty town if you spend baker token and thinks that double trashing is lucky.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Playing Vassal
« on: May 27, 2017, 09:09:23 am »
Back to vassal its much better if you don't play base-only games, sentry is about worst of deck inspectors there. Also action only decks become relatively common with expansions. With wandering minstrel and apothecary its better than conspirator as you could trigger it as second card and you have reliably topdecked action. With wishing well it works relatively well too. With cartographer it plays like cartographer/mystic main problem is buying cartographers.

you want to repay at least 1 debt this turn
You need to repay all 8, you can't buy things with debt.
Previous sentence says to buy ms+donate, obviously repay 1 debt from that donate for repaying 7 debt+province next turn.

Dominion Articles / Combo: Donate-market square.
« on: May 26, 2017, 08:45:29 am »
This simple strategy is stronger than hermit/market square and is usually best thing on board when present. It reliably gets one province/turn from turn 5 and plies them out by turn 12-13 and is immune to most attacks.

Strategy is:

turn 1-2: buy market square.

turn 3: If you are lucky to draw market square buy it and donate, otherwise just donate to trigger market squares. Your deck should contain total 5 coppers+golds.

turn 4: Again buy market squares and donate, you want to repay at least 1 debt this turn. Deck should be only golds and market squares.

turn 5: you have 15 to spend and at most 7 debt, buy one province.

turn 6: If opponent didn't mirror buying province you should be able to play at least 2 market squares to buy province, copper and donate and repay 4-7 debt. With mirror its time to province+duchy+copper.

turn 7+: buy province+duchy+coppers to make province-duchy turns more likely insteod of 12 turns.

Help! / Re: Best strategy on this board?
« on: May 23, 2017, 03:57:09 pm »
Here gladiator is as bad as opening bishop as opponents thins more with 4 extra plays of salvager and could get fortune same turn, extra gold doesn't make much difference.

Trashing all coppers with salvager is hard here, game will likely be over before that.I would also go hop but I am bit concerned with draw. for megaturn. There is margrave which means only 3 alchemists topdecked one is cantrip due relic and ranger doesn't look hot.

I am thinking about opening salvager/silver to thin more and early fives and probably get same number of alchemists or 4 in worst case.

63
Got another interaction with chariot race - sea hag. It needs good trashing to make hag otherwise ignorable but you topdeck curse just for lot of vp even if its trashed next turn

Game Reports / Could somebody explain me ranking?
« on: May 12, 2017, 01:24:33 pm »
Could somebody explain how opponent got ranked so high? Rank 56 player should know things like not buy knights when opponent buys only fools gold and ignore it in pure fg kingdom

Relevant cards were fools gold, summon, scavenger, sentry, mystic, torturer, legionary, knights.

Puzzles and Challenges / Re: Busy Beaver amount of Coin
« on: May 12, 2017, 07:19:00 am »
You could relatively easily get something like 2^2^n I am not sure what exactly.

You need tfair, chapel, peasant, page, scrying pool, watchtower. As optimal coins is hard lets do easy estimate.

Drawing deck is easy as its only actions and you topdeck last discipled poll to draw it.

At i-th round you start with x coins. With tfair you could buy x/4 peasants. Next turn just turn them into x/4 soldiers. They give x^2 coins next turn and bound 2^2^n follows.

66
remake/advance/poor house is insane. With buy in board in makes getting lot of five cards easy.

Game Reports / Re: More on Gardens
« on: May 11, 2017, 10:27:18 am »
This should be mainly cultist rush. Possible oppenings are quarry/silver or quarry/ratcatcher if opponents doesn't looks to go into cultists. With some ratcatcher thinning unoppossed cultist would empty province pile quite fast. I don't see garden slog there.

If its cultist mirror then gardens will be good, add squires and perhaps ratcathers to trash them for cultists.

Noble-brigand 4 <6>
3 cards, 2 actions, gain a gold, each other player reveals two cards from top of his deck and trashes treasure other than copper and gains a copper

Finally managed to get working bureaucrat pin. It was game with forge, kc and storyteller. I could get 3 silvers each turn that turned into platinum with forge for storyteller draw.

fishing village, walled village, bureaucrat, goons, replace, hoard, donate, triumphal arch

This was notable game as we ended on emptying copper pile. Optimal strategy was to trash down to 3 walled villages+3 goons then depending on debt get 4 coppers or 3 coppers and donate. Opponent tried to also prematurely green which resulted in loss.

everybody knows kc-scheme. Pathfinding-scheme is similar. But in recent game I found city quarter-scheme which is similar of topdecking actions then drawing lot with city quarter. and easier to pull of as you don't need spike 7/8 thanks to debt.

Dominion Online at Shuffle iT / adding tie option?
« on: March 06, 2017, 03:12:39 pm »
Hi, today I got into infinite game that would be tie. So I wonder if one could add option to make tie there.

It was possession-donate mirror, we both donated for quick possessions, then got about two possessions and village, then donated again to trash all treasures. With debt nobody could afford anything. If one player had some economy then second would win  by multiple possessions so it was best strategy there.

73
Second part of reason is that swamp hag was overrated as it isn't that good. Its ignorable for engine with any trasher better than trade route. With duration and missing shuffles its so slow that it doesn't gives many curses early and later opponent could trash gained junk next turn. If you add gainers, spending turns while hag is in play trashing and that buying two 5 engine components happens late and earlier one could just get one five cost and curse instead several cheaper components. Last as terminal money it isn't very effective engine payload.

Crown looks fine as treasure part adds reliability that throne room lacks, getting throne room with only two terminals is usually mistake as you draw it dead. Also it improves reliability by reducing needed engine payload, 2 crowns and 2 golds are same as two golds and you could use these crowns to draw you deck but no golds..

On completely unrelated note game where I had amazing shuflle luck.

As previous game its clear from board that its basically cultist-bm where we started greening as we bought golds, trainings and peddlers instead of cultists.
