8- Relic     -that's my first guess. Could almost just as easily be Talisman, Amulet, etc

14- Black Market

17- Vault

At first glance I thought #2 was obviously masquerade, but then I saw it further down.

I don't know how people can expect the automatch to be any good at this point. They took ratings from Goko from several months ago and allowed them to decay while people weren't playing the new version yet, and much less games have been played on the new version obviously because it hasn't been around for very long. Maybe you could request that they revert back to the ratings which were first taken from Goko before they started to decay?  Still, after that the automatch isn't going to be that good for awhile because there are a lot of people on the new version who haven't played many games on it yet. I imagine those who hadn't paid for cards on the old version wouldn't have much motivation to keep the same username and get their rating transferred to the new version.

In any case being able to have fun playing with those of another skill level is in itself a useful skill.
I really think keeping their program from overheating people's computers is a more important problem for them to fix. Then again, my computer is rather vulnerable to overheating, so while I'm afraid to play dominion on it right now, I know it isn't a problem for everyone.

Do my rankings still count for something if I didn't finish all of the card duels for that category? (wondering if I should do some of each category or focus on finishing one more category, cause I got through the 2s and 3s and I think I might be past halfway on the 4s, so I wanted to do a little bit of the 5s & 6s too if they'd count.)

PS: stinkin. I've gotten the title I've been dreading. I don't wanna be a witch. I'll just have to post a lot until get the next title.

Guys, it's probably just a ranking list of upvote potential per reference on this site.  Expect Scout and Moat to be pretty high.
Are you saying other people are going to put Scout high?

I'm putting it dead last. I can't think of any other card being worse than Scout. Sorry.

I've actually got Adventurer just under Scout, which is just under Feast, which is just under Haven.

haven? Haven's a great card.

I'm sad because I want to do this but I don't know if I'll have a chance to finish by the end of the month (it's a busy month and I don't have a working computer at the moment).

Kingdom: Dungeon, Monument, Bridge, Plaza, Upgrade, Conclave (LFE), Frontier (FGG), Drunken Master (LAo), Royal Carriage, Rabble. Event: Save
(3 players)

Fun game. Rabble makes Frontier/Winery* more dangerous, but Dungeon's sifting makes up for that I think. I won after getting one Frontier after both other players got two, but I don't think that was the main reason. I got Drunken Master (a junker) before my opponents did, and I got several Conclaves while my opponents didn't get any. All three fan-made cards were well-received. Also, this is only maybe my second time playing with Royal Carriage. I like it.

(*I have it printed as Winery, mainly because I printed it before the name was changed. I also have Conclave printed as Convocation for the same reason.)

It was our first time playing with Frontier and Conclave, and our first time with the current version of Drunken Master. I'm sure Frontier and Conclave will be going on the list in the OP once we play with them again. We tried Emerald Vein (in previous post) again in a kingdom which seemed better for it, but it still seemed weak. not sure about adding it to my list yet. I may want to mod it. CookieLord's Bastion is another fan-made card we've played with recently which I am adding to the list.

General Discussion / Re: Dominion dream
« on: October 06, 2015, 12:47:24 am »
I recently dreamed something like a Dominion tabletop rpg. It was kindof like an alternate version of the campaigns with two main exceptions:
- the games were played against a human GM (and maybe a third player sometimes)
- the storyline was significantly more involved and interactive with decisions outside of the Dominion matches.

This might be fun to actually do sometime.

Just realized the empty coin symbol i used on Sheriff isn't in line with official overpay. Will fix this when i create the next mockup.

Also i think a "Once per turn" restriction wouldn't be too harsh if it wasn't for the opening. I liked that 3/4 and 4/3 were equal.

Would it be better to make only the +buy part once per turn?

Goko Dominion Online / Re: Latest Release
« on: October 02, 2015, 12:40:59 am »
I didn't find the kingdom generator at first because it's only under 'challenge other players'. Can't you use the kingdom generator with seeking? If not, that really sucks. Is it because we don't have separate rated & unrated modes?  Well, why don't we have separate rated & unrated modes?  So I can't use the kingdom generator while seeking an opponent, and I can't challenge an opponent without knowing who else is online. ugh

Also, is there no way with the kingdom generator to randomize from all except a few certain cards?  THAT'S THE WHOLE REASON I WANTED A KINGDOM GENERATOR. <headdesk>

Gear and Inheritance belong on that list of most powerful in the set, IMO. They're also two of my favorites. Gear is the kind of card that is much more powerful than it looks (I just introduced my gaming group to Merchant Guild -also a lot more powerful than it looks).

I have avoided playing with Page and Ferry so far. I'm okay with ferry, I guess it just didn't look to me to be as fun as you make it sound. But I'm doubtful about how the page line will be liked in my gaming group with the combination of Warrior and Champion.

I'll blame the cross-thread discussion for this double-post: My suggestion is "Victory-type only card".
Well, the point of me moving the discussion to another thread was that I'm not looking for alternate wordings. I was looking for why (and if) I needed an alternate wording in the first place. I'm not convinced that I do.

Variants and Fan Cards / Re: Really bad card ideas

Delusions of Grandeur - $4
Action
Gain a Province into your hand. At the end of your turn, return a Province from your hand to the supply (or reveal a hand with no Province).

Maybe one shouldn't criticize cards in this thread, because there is always the "yes, I told you it was a bad idea" defence, but I still think it would be more interesting with "at the start of your Clean-Up Phase" instead of "at the end of your turn".

Remind me what the functional difference is?
Technically, at the end of your turn, you've already discarded your hand for that turn and drawn your hand for the next turn. So the province you gained with this card wouldn't still be in your hand at the end of your turn. The start of your clean-up phase is right after you finish buying stuff (and resolving any on-buy/on-gain effects).

Kingdom: Courtyard, Pearl Diver, Swindler, Plaza, Illusionist (LAo), Treasure Trove, Storyteller, Historian (FGG), Rabble, Rebuild (alternate version).
3-player game.

Here's the alternate Rebuild I use: (it's a cross between the outtake version and the official version)
Quote
Rebuild
$5 cost - Action
+1 Action.
Look at the top three cards of your deck. Trash one and discard the others. Then gain a card costing up to $2 more than the card you trashed. You may put the gained card on top of your deck.

Historian by Fragasnap:
Quote
Historian
$5 cost - Action
Draw until you have 6 cards in hand. You may set aside up to 2 cards drawn this way as you draw them. Trash the set aside cards after you finish drawing.
(Added this to the list in the OP. EDIT: Later removed from the OP because it seemed very weak as a trasher.)

Quote
Illusionist
$4  Action - Reserve
+$2. Put this on your tavern mat.
-
Any time an action card considers the type of another card(s), you may call this to change the effective type of a card by adding a type or replacing the card's type. All of your copies of that card use the chosen type until the initial card is resolved.

Without any +Buy, there wasn't much possible engine, but I went for something like one anyway. I opened Swindler/Plaza, got Historian with my first $5 hand, but also ended up getting Storyteller and Treasure Trove soon after because the interaction looked fun.
The player who won (I gave them a couple tips during the game) went mostly BM with Treasure Trove, Storyteller, and Historian.  I ended up in 2nd place. I think my main mistake was not getting Rebuild to use in place of +buy. The 3rd place player would have easily gotten at least second if he had used his Rebuild better (as in getting getting victory cards the last couple times he played it).
I was pretty sure I would like Historian when I first read it, and my suspicious are confirmed. It's a good card.
Me and the 3rd place player used Illusionist mainly to discard estates to Plaza for coin tokens. It was also used once as a defense against Rabble (that didn't come up much because only one Rabble was gained all game -by me). Still, I think it's a fun card.
Unsurprisingly, Pearl Diver was a complete dud.

Another recent game kingdom: Crossroads, Gear, Mysterious Tankard (LAo), Mysterious Door (RSG), Gear, Salvager, Messenger, Transmogrify, Vendor (LFE), Ancestral Crypt (RSG), Event: Lost Arts.
This was the first time we played with Messenger, and I used it's on-buy effect to give out Mysterious Tankards. Player 3 gained Messenger with Haggler to avoid giving out cards. I put my +1 Action token on Gear, player 3 put his on Vendor, effectively turning it into a Bazaar+. Player 2 didn't bother with Lost Arts.
I won this game by a significant amount. I used a little bit of each of the 4 fan cards. I really like Vendor and Ancestral Crypt, but Gear stole the show. It has quickly become one of my favorite cards (especially with the +action token on it...). The other players are still learning to look at a board and plan in advance for effects like Lost Arts and Teacher.
Mysterious Tankard is a playable joke card, which is exactly what it's meant to be. I won't use it often, but it's fun for what it is.
This was the game where I decided Mysterious Door could cost $2.
(I added Vendor to the list in the OP.)

I also recently tried out Emerald Vein by Robz888 (from the Hinterlands contest)
Quote
Emerald Vein
$5 cost - Action - Victory
+1 Action.
Reveal your hand. +$1 per Victory card revealed.
Worth 1 VP.
It seemed very weak the one time we played with it, but then again, the board also had Mountebank, Festival, Highway, and Haunted Woods. Most cards seem weak next to Mountebank, and Highway with pretty much any +buy is really powerful. Only one Emerald Vein was bought. I bought it only after I was sure to win anyway, so it wasn't much of a test game... Anyway, I'll try it again sometime soon.

Variants and Fan Cards / Re: 'Philosophy' of fan cards and fan expansions
« on: September 08, 2015, 12:22:05 am »
I still don't get it. If it was part of an official expansion, a definition of 'pure victory card' could easily be included in the rulebook.
But these are fan cards. There is no game box. They're not going to be used by a lot of people and might not be used by anyone but me and the people I play with IRL. So I can just tell them how it works. What is the problem with it?

Partially it's an aesthetic thing. Sure, it's not an official expansion, and you can and should hold yourself to whatever standards of design work for you. A lot of people try and hold their (and other people's) work up to the same standard as the official game, though, and that includes things like templating. If I wrote a fan card that says "flip cards until you find an action", someone would come along and say "well, I get what you mean, but the official wording would be this". You're already putting in enough effort to make card mock-ups to print out and play with; might as well make them as close to official as you can at that point, you know what I mean?

And if there was an official card that referred to this concept, I'm certain it would say something like "Victory Card that isn't an Action Card or Treasure Card", or "Non-Action Non-Treasure Victory Card". Neither of those is as succinct as "pure Victory Card", true, but they also don't need extra rules added to the game for them to function. But more likely than any of that, I'd expect the official card to be rewritten to avoid the issue altogether. The card that comes closest to this concept is Rabble, and it doesn't have the word Victory printed anywhere on it.
I see what you're saying now. It just really bugs me when people act like it's a serious problem when really it's a matter of taste. In this message, you treat it like a matter of taste and I appreciate that. Earlier, you treated it like it was an actual problem with the card, and that isn't helpful.
I try to use official wording whenever it's feasible. In this case "pure victory card" is a lot shorter and seems a lot simpler than saying "card that isn't an action or treasure", so I think it's worthwhile to create a new term for it.

1372
This is generally referred to as the "designer in the box" problem. Lots of things make sense if the designer is there to explain them, but you really would prefer that not be necessary; you don't have the luxury of including the designer in the game box. Obviously this is your card and you can do what you want, but this is why so many people are mentioning it.
I'm moving this discussion elsewhere since it isn't about any specific cards:

I don't get what the problem is with saying "Pure victory card". I just tell people what it means when the card is in the kingdom.

On an offhand note, how do you post images of cards from your computer like that? Last I tried, it gave me a  bracket. What do I put there?
Thanks in advance!

You will have to upload the image somewhere on the internet (I use my website, most people use imgur.com).
Then just put the url of the image in the image bracket like so (except without the added spaces):
[ img width=348]https://sites.google.com/site/dajangbandwebsite/my-pathfinder-setting-stuff/character-classes/FountainGargoyle_v2.gif[ /img]
An example from Fragasnap's expansion (image hosted on imgur): [ img width=246]http://i.imgur.com/1WFDijh.jpg[ /img]
You can tweak img width to change the size as you can see.

remove the added spaces and it looks like this:
