Here's some really bad card ideas:

Witch's idea: "I'll cross the street without looking both ways."

Chapel's idea: "I'll leap without looking."

Remodel's idea: "I'll count my chickens before they hatch."

Laboratory's idea: "I'll put all my eggs in one basket."

Village's idea: "I'll get involved in a land war in Asia."

Smithy's idea: "I'll go in against the Sicilian when death is on the line"

I was surprised "Crypt" was an answer (the only one I
guessed at first) given that "Catacombs" is already a card.
How many expansions is this? 11 or so? And the names aren't e.g. Florbian Catacombs, just plain Catacombs. I mean. There are only so many simple names.

SPOILER ALERT! The next expansion will be Florbian Guilds.

Reveal the top two cards of your deck. + equal to the cost of one of the cards you revealed. Discard that card and put the other one back on your deck.

I think it's a great idea. Sometimes, certain cards don't mesh well with certain players. My list would be:

1. Transmute
2. Transmute
3. Transmute
4. Transmute
5. Transmute

But Transmute is an awesome card! It lets you get more Transmutes!

Just played a semi-interesting game, will attempt to describe via limerick

Opponent bought sea hag to curse
Some upgrades I bought to trash curse
Oh no, look there's poor house
Wait, Obelisk'd poor house
3 piles with upgrade and curse

Rhyming a word with itself is generally frowned upon.

You literally did this on every line in the limerick.
I am now even happier that I chose to describe my game via limerick.

There once was a Sea Hag from Ayr
Who left the curse pile to her heir
She ran out the pile 'ere
She was trashed into thin air
And now she won't be found e'er.

Why would you not reveal a Province to an opponent's Tournament?

I can think of one edge case. Three player game without +buy other than Princess, which is already gone. Thanks to the Pillage that you played, you know that your active opponent (Bob) has $7 and no draw other than Tournament,  while the other player (Sue) has $8. Bob is 9 points behind you and Sue is 5 points behind you. If you don't reveal Province, Bob can gain a Duchy and buy the last Province so that you and Bob tie and Sue loses.

I have never seen someone who gets up and tap dances with their discard pile instead of turning the cards face-down and randomly rearranging the order in which they are stacked.

Any thoughts about a future expansion including more Guilds-like coin-token cards (including events, landmarks)?
Experienced interviewers know that I leave such questions up to RGG, who also will not answer them.

But what about an expansion themed on sharks with giant frickin' laser beams attached to their heads? Would you answer that one? I think that is a criminally-unused design space.

Catan is fun, but man it gets frustrating when all of the players are against you because you won one time.

The proper move is to gang up on whatever asshole suggested you all play Catan in the first place.

Catan's only saving grace is that it's not Monopoly

But then Settlers would frequently only come into play once most of the Copper has been trashed, rendering them worse than Pearl Diver.

I believe that "Fortress" is a corruption of Latin "Fortis", meaning 'strong' and thus, 'strong place/stronghold'. "Fort" is a shortened form of "fortification," from Latin "fortificere=fortis+facere "to make". So they have the same Latin root, even though they aren't actually derived from each other.
