I would guess that, because of the drawbacks (no +$2, so no self-synergy; no attack) you will get away with $4.
Also other combos are not so strong, so f you play Vassal+disaperaing Village+Terminal money, that also does not combo, because you have a 4 card hand after Vassal, minus 2 cards Village/terminal, minus Vassal, minus card to set aside, so there is nothing to discard, so Vassal does not trigger anymore.

Of course it works with "real" Villages, but you drop half of the Villages out of this combo, so maybe just drop that clause, I don't think it's too strong if you get +3Cards when you discard nothing, especially as you need some cards to combo with, just by itself it's not a very good card. Best card out of 5 + 3 randoms is not that much stronger (if at all) than 5 random cards.

Edit: Best use (as it's now) is probably in Cantrip engines, you can clean your hand when it has run full with stopper cards and start with a fresh 4 card hand...

Edit2: I like the concept...

keep in mind that you dont have to set a card aside so if you maybe only have vassal and estate in hand you can just discard the estate and draw new cards.

but i have a idea to get around it and make the card a bit stronger

is this ok at 4$ or does it need a penalty maybe?

I thought of gaining a estate when you gain this. this could be good in the endgame if you sadly only hit 4 and does hurt a little in the early game and hinders you to get them in masses without trashing.

without the + buy it could be ok at 7 but then it would grow to slow because you get it a lot later and your opponent can buy provinces soon after that.
at 7 only maybe usefull in colony games. + edge cases

or as i said dont make it a treassure but a terminal action. then its maybe 6$ or 5$

Maybe its the beginning of the end of isotropic. just like : we give you a taste of dark ages but in 2 weeks you will have to buy it on goko if you want to play dominion . and isotropic goes down ...  ::)

i just played with shelters and bandit camp but bandit camp did not have a picture just a big ? so maybe its a bug but spoil has a picture.

i think it is pretty powerfull because it is a tressure card an dont need an action to use, so multiple uses are so much easier then pirate ship.

you opponents cant defend against this strategie unlike at pirate ship (not buy treasures, reaction cards)

and it even provides the + buy you desperatly need if you get this much money.

and you can pseudo trash your coppers instead of thrashing your oponents coppers and helping him sometimes.

Overall its very strong it might be possible without the +buy and as an terminal action for 5 i think.

it even has similarity to forager but only you benefit from the trashing and it counts all treassures not only the different.

I like the minion effect and this is pretty similar and mostly a bit stronger. therefor it doesnt attack and you cannot choose +2$ so it is not self supporting with virtual money. On the otherhand you can set a gold or any strong action into the next hand. so it even works with powerful tressure cards (platin/Gold)

Do you think this is balanced?

Of course you can. Still, if you were looking for another name close to Smithy, how about Blacksmith (Hufschmied)? It contains a bit of Smithy, gives you money like Horse Trader does and likes Trusty Steeds Silver (Okay, i made that connection up... Sue me.)

Yes i dont know if i ever get alchemy... i dont like the potion concept and i hate cards like familiar, posession ,philosophers ....

have you ever played against kings court posesion? to give your oponen 5 turns in a row isnt that funny.

That doesn't matter. Copper is pretty much strictly better than Curse, yet they both cost $0.

But its also better than necropolis... does that matter?

as they cant collide (you can just discard the sorerooms for +1$)
i would buy more then one because the chance of having on in hand every turn is higher and you will reshuffle more often.

It could also be  2$  ... 2 actions + 2buys if you need them isnīt to bad, look at squire there you get  only one of that.

I like the idea of gainig it instead of a curse or a copper(with cache it may be nice) it will harm you deck as well if you have all 10 but not as much as a curse.

with the +2 Buys on Buy effect it can be simply piled out if it cost 0$ or the costs are reduced. play 1 bridge and discard 4 cards while buying this. maybe thats not intended.

It can give you +Buy so if you have the money you can buy 2 silvers, in addition to that you gain 1 Silver on buy . i think more support for that would be overpowered.

i only see a problem with multiple type cards but then again tribute is very strong with them too. and you loose the power of them if you discard Great Hall(-1card), Harem(-2$), Nobles(what ever you choose) ...

I think this would be mostly used for the treasure option, it's just so much stronger than the other options.

yes it can be the strongest option and you will most often use this (like +2Cards +1Action in Spice merchant) but its nice to have the other options avaiable if you
 (either have already 8(11) and dont want to risk loosing it ;
 want an extra buy;
 draw 2 Action cards wich would be dead otherwise,
you are in the early game and have your only silver in hand)

i like that you cant draw 2 dead actions if you discard one of them.
First it was +1 Card for discarding a victoy card but that was to strong because discarding a victory card doesnt hurt as much.
