If there are no Ruins in the Supply, he gains a Curse instead.

You could make it a Looter and then there have to be ruins in the supply.

I Like the new version. Its an interesting interaction and now it cant wipe out the oponents turn.

id veto mountebank and play vault+BM, it's tough to beat w/o any cantrips/villages. pick up 2-3 vaults.
and you go for provinces or colonies?

pirate ship seems to be strong here  ;)

i think this is defenitly an option because you have to go With money Cards to not draw to much dead actions. and if i am player 2 and 1 opens with Jack i think opening PShip is pretty good.

I would love for the other player to play Pirate Ship against me here. If I opened Jack/Silver against Pirate Ship/Silver, I would use Vault to get King's Courts, and King's Court Monuments all day, with my opponent getting rid of my Coppers (and even Silvers) for me.
so you wuld love to play agains me =)

but Possesoin and Kings court are not in the Base game. The most Players who buy expansions are allready more experienced than beginners who usually just start with the basegame. (Or Intrigue like I did  :)))

That's interesting and worth looking at, but not necessarily that accurate. I'd say on average $3 and $5 cards are more powerful for their cost than $4 cards.

It's not about straight cost per dollar. $3 and $4 can be treated as the same cost, where the primary difference is the ability (or lack thereof) to open 2 copies of X. $5 is an entirely different level.

So why does Throne Room not cost $3 then?

A Quote from the secret History of Dominion
Quote from: Donald X
Throne Room: For most of its life this card cost 3. My feeling was that you didn't want to buy two on turns 1 and 2, and probably didn't want to buy one on either of those turns (except with the Feast combo). Later in the game it doesn't matter as much whether it costs 3 or 4. So why not 3? In general, if a card can be cheaper, I make it cheaper. I want the cards as cheap as possible without breaking the game, rather than as expensive as possible without going unplayed. So, I knew Throne Room was good, but it seemed like 3 was okay.

Well late in development there was a game where no-one fought me for the Throne Rooms and I had a turn where I chained 6 of them. "I play Throne Room. First I Throne Room a Throne Room; for that one first I Throne Room a Smithy, then a Throne Room; for that one first I Throne Room a Throne Room..." I had a big cloud of actions on the table (we use a binary tree in these ridiculous situations). It's not just powerful; it's messy. I thought, hmm, maybe this could stand being 4 after all. It makes it just a bit harder to get a million of them; you don't go, "Market, buy two Throne Rooms" nearly as often. There was some worry that now there weren't enough 3's, but we decided we could live with just having four. There's Silver at 3, so it's fine to sometimes deal out a random 10 and not get a 3.

And of course there are straightforward combos like with Jester and maybe Saboteur, but definitely not Swindling Estates into Estates.

but swindling provinces to peddlers or duchys to 5$ cost cards near the end of the game.

Feels like Inn as a Duration. Inn and Wharf both cost 5.
But Inn of course is only worth $5 because of its duration effect, without this it would probably be $3 I guess.

I think you mean the shuffeling actions from the discard to draw pile.
without it its probably worth 4 because its a better village.

Back to the WareWharfhouse:
I think it has to cost 5 because the duration effect is very strong and its non terminal so playing multiples of it isnt uncommon. Its still weaker than Wharf but hey a lot of cards are.

oh i see my wording weekens the card a lot if you have enough actions.

I think this card will generally not be liked because noone wants to see his good actions getting trashed.
maybe it could let you gain a card costing less then the trashed card.

Crazy idea --

Worker - $0
Action

+1 Action
+$1

You get 7 of them, instead of your starting Copper (depending on the percentage of Guilds cards in your Kingdom). Guilds's theme is "playing actions". Peddler and Conspirator would be examples of on-theme cards.

noone would buy smithy and other terminal draw anymore

i think this would be a bit boring (espacialy online) and leads to longer turns
example for a turn 1:
Quote
...plays a worker getting 1 action and 1$
...plays a worker ...
...plays a worker ...
...plays a worker ...
...buys a peddler

noone would buy a smithy or other terminal draw anymore and conspirator and scrying pool would be owerpowered

Humpph

Missed it!

When ISO goes, aw, I so hope not, what am I going to do with all my hours?
I held off buying Dark Agesint he hope that purchasing the cards would allow me to play online... This is not the case, and I'm not going to pay twice - and now I think, I won't be paying once.
You can also wait for a special offer to get DA for maybe 10$ less and then invest the 7$ for DA cards in goko

sounds like its a strong engine with fortress,

but Goveneur + Militia is strong as well

I dont know how strong it is
Maybe you could write:
+3 Cards +1Action
trash the next action card you play in your clean up phase,

I think it might be balanced when i compare it to goveneur where you oponent gets a free laboratory
Here he gets a free knight that hits a action card. that are both 5$ effects so I think that is ok.

...he only bought...one wharf...

And began buying Provinces when his deck was only that Wharf, a Chapel, 2 Golds and a Silver  :o
This is what's known as the "Magnesium" deck.

why ?

an idea might be to not discard the remaining 2 cards and put them back in any order. i think then it is a bit weaker as it looses cycling power but its still a lot stronger than the vanilla vilage.

I would also drop the first part

the card original card is a bit like spice merchant but without the other option and with a attack and reversed(you have to trash the tresure after the draw and if you have non--> profit (Laboratory)

and attacks that just hurt 1 player are difficult.

I assumed it was meant to be a penalty to allow you to do the good bit

I assumed it was a safeguard against your discard being empty. If you have a spare dead Action in your hand, you can discard it and then put it on the bottom of your deck.
You are right LastFootnote its not meant to be a penalty

you may discard a card.
look through your discard pile. put one card from your discard pile on the bottom of your deck.

you can use a good card twice a shuffle with it but then it will maybe miss the reshuffle so the effect is minor.
you also can put a card you just gained into your deck i think there will be a few nice combos with it but non weems to be to strong.
and at least it is a handsize reducer for watchtower etc. or a tunnel enabler (it can put the gold you gaind directly in you deck)

how do you like it?
