A few corrections:
  • Holy See - Illustration is Italy, Rome, St. Peter's Square by Michel Angelo Pacetti
  • Excommunitacte - Title should be "Excommunicate"
  • Historian - Text should be "skipping any cards you choose to;" (I think it also works if you just remove the word "to")

Ah, I never noticed that special treasures all use "When you play this". Good to know.

Thanks for making (& improving) finished versions of all these cards. I plan to print many of them out for my own use.

Here are a few suggested corrections of typos and inconsistencies:
  • Anvil – Last line of text should read “…back onto your deck in any order.”
  • Bounty – Remove “When you play this,” since every card has an implicit “When you play this”
  • Celebration – You might want to replace the last sentence with “You may trash this. If you do, play this again.”  (Urchin uses this wording).
  • Coins – Remove “When you play this,”
  • Gallery – I would add a bit more space before and after the <5> debt symbol.
  • Progress – Might change “If nobody revealed…” to “If no one revealed…” (Compare with wording of Tournament)
  • Settlement – Add space between the first VP icon and the word “if”
  • Trading Vessle – The correct spelling is Vessel
  • Cavalry – Add space between “takes” and <1> debt symbol
  • Siege – Add space between [1] coin symbol and “if”
  • Manuscripts – Remove the extra space character between “Action” and “from” on first line.
  • Cottage – Add space before and after first <1> debt symbol
  • Dusk Village – There should be three period characters after “If this is the” (to make an ellipsis)
  • Decay – Add space between “take” and <4> debt symbol

Treasurer: Complete rework; highly experimental. I had a really hard time judging the power of this card. I'm not sure if it will be strong or weak, and if it is balanced it might not even be an interesting option to play; I don't know. So that's another card where I'm really looking forward to your feedback.

I think Treasurer is an interesting card which I'm going to playtest, but I agree with a previous commenter that the art could be improved.

I found a few illustrations of medieval-looking Treasurers/Moneychangers/Bankers handling coins, which I think helps. All are by the same artist, with the last three being variations on the same theme:

The Moneychangers by Marinus van Reymerswaele

The Moneychanger and His Wife by Marinus van Reymerswaele

The Banker and His Wife by Marinus van Reymerswaele

The Banker and His Wife
by Marinus van Reymerswaele

Yeah, you would have to use a pretty small radius gaussian blur to avoid that, and then probably follow it up with a sharpen filter, etc.

32
That art is fine by me. I'd suggest doing a de-speckle or gaussian blur on it first, to get rid of the moire patterns.

33
Sure, I'd like to see a mock up. Better late than never!

Images on the following cards were listed as "unknown". I've identified them using the Search by Image feature of images.google.com (Click on the little camera and then drag in an image you want to find/identify, then hunt around in the results a bit)

Cell illustration is Prison of Desires by Kleyos

Ivory Tower illustration appears to be related to The Neverending Story III: Escape from Fantasia - https://www.themoviedb.org/movie/27793-the-neverending-story-iii-escape-from-fantasia/images/backdrops?language=en-US

Locksmith illustration is The Locksmith by A Neapolitan follower of Ribera (or just Neapolitan) as the attribution is uncertain.

Sellout illustration is Conscience, Judas by Nikolai Ge

Mulligan illustration is The Black Cauldron Background Concept by Ron Dias

Hounds illustration is The fox and the hound by Citron--Vert

Snakes illustration is White snake by Atenebris

Finally, here is a higher resolution image for Leonardo Da Vinci, if you end up sticking with that image for Inventor.

Market Day: Still not happy with the art.

How about one of these images for Market Day?

Une faire au Moyen Age

Village Fair by Mostaert Dorfkirmes

The Foreign Market by RhysGriffiths

City Market by Edarneor (probably would need some cropping)

Medieval Town by RobinTran

Well, it could make a nice promo, maybe offering it bundled with a "real" promo card-shaped thing.
A lot of games offer purely aesthetical content as promos, and it usually seems to go over quite well.

Asthetical is not a word. Not trying to insult your intelligence, it just drives me crazy when people append -al to words to make them adjectives when the word is already an adjective.

You're just being pedantical.

That joke is simply terrifical.

The funniest thing for me about this sub-thread is that "aesthetical" is in fact a word: http://www.dictionary.com/browse/aesthetical

It's just that the meaning of aesthetical ("of or relating to aesthetics, relating to the philosophy or theory of beauty") is different from the meaning of aesthetic ("of or pertaining to the appreciation or criticism of the beautiful") - the right word to use in the post that started this whole thing.

Your art picked for Swamp is an improvement - or rather, it looks just as good, but makes more sense, thematically. ... Capitols are a bit too modern for Dominion in my book. ... Maybe something that has the same connotation, but fits the time.

How about Fortification(s) as a name for this event? Some fortifications, such as defensive walls, could surround fairly large territories, and they increase the value of the land they enclose/fortify, so it fits thematically for a card that increases the VP value of victory cards which mostly represent land. They also existed in medieval times - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medieval_fortification - and there are various possibilities for artwork (archer towers, city walls, mottes and baileys, etc.)

This card finally explains the delays in releasing Dominion: Empires online. A full implementation requires solving the Halting Problem.

Pro tip: Don't enter a Dominion tournament scheduled on your birthday!

Great idea for a card, Multitalented. Would you be able to post the full-sized image? If you put width=400 after the "img" in the image tag, it will show up smaller, but we can still download the full-sized version.

I don't really have a good sense of where [Grift] should be priced.

Now that it requires a discard to gain the coin token, I think cost 6 might still be too high, since now it only turns "useless" cards into coin tokens, which you might not have too many of in a good deck. A cost six event could be tough to buy early, as well. Perhaps playtest it at 5?

On the other hand, it is useful to turn coppers into coin tokens, and early on you are guaranteed to have lots of those in your deck. So it is tricky to balance.

I'd really prefer a few bureaucrats on a table over some piece of paper. That meaning of Reform was a big part of why i suggested the name in the first place, snd it goes with the Bureaucrat-like Reaction as well as with the Remodel-top.
Don't know whether i'll have the time to look for such an image, though.

When I looked for images before, I wasn't really thinking along the lines of political or religious reform. But for what it's worth, here's an image of a bunch of notable Protestant Reformers at a table:

http://d1s6yijfrvmtp9.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/06/13143933/97005470.jpg

In case anyone is wondering what the folks on the other side of the table are doing, I think they represent Catholic authorities unsuccessfully attempting to blow out the candle of the Reformers, which may be alluding to the ritual of excommunication of Medieval times, which involved the symbolic act of extinguishing candles - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bell,_book,_and_candle#Ritual

I considered allowing to put up to 2 cards on the mat which makes it quite stronger.

I think changing it to "Put up to 2 cards from your hand..." makes it a great card, one that I'd definitely playtest.

A cooler photo of a glass blower that almost looks like alchemy-style art:

Here are some initial ideas for art submissions. Initially I was looking at potter & clay images (since they do a lot of "forming" in pottery) leading to the first image. Then I thought of glassblowing because torches can be more dramatic, and the fire, in a way, both destroys and forms something at the same time, hence reform.

The problem is, I've only found glassblowing pictures that are photographs, so I don't know if they would work as-is, as card art, which is usually digital art or paintings. Anyhow, here they are:

Interesting set of cards. Instead of critiquing the content, I thought I'd focus on typos and wording.

1) Typo corrections:

Village Priest – Change “a Archbishop” to “an Archbishop”
Templar – Change “5 Victory card” to “5 Victory cards
Corvée – Change “6/7/8 Cards” to “6/7/8 cards”
Penance – Change “Trash this from in play” to “Trash this from play”
Iconographer – Change “2 Treasures cards” to “2 Treasure cards”
Charity – In the text under the line, remove the extra space between “costing” and “up”

2) Improved wording to match official cards:

Iconographer – Change “If not trash” to “If you don’t, trash”
Missal – Change “you may draw an extra card for your next hand” to “you may draw an extra card in this turn’s Clean-up phase”
Charity – Change “If this is the first Charity you played this turn” to “If this is the first time you played a Charity this turn”
Confession – Change “If not” to “If you don’t”

Is it possible for you to post your latest versions of cards in this set at full resolution (either together as a zip file or with clickable images as in Asper's thread)? I'd like to print out a full set for playtesting.
