I'm interested in seeing the rest (especially if they're printable cards).

So are all the cards at the page linked to in the first post the final versions of the cards (now that all the card names for Dominion: Renaissance have been revealed)?

Speak up in the next 24 hours or so if you spot any game-breaking bugs!

Great cards! I didn't find anything I'd consider game-breaking, but I did go overthem with a "fine-toothed comb" and found the following typos, wording improvement suggestions:

Discovery - "When you flip this face-up" There is no mention of ever putting the card face down. Is that somewhere in additional rules? I'm not sure whether it should be put in the card text itself.

Gamepiece – Possible wording improvement: "When you discard this on your turn, and not during Clean-up"

Inspector – For accountability the other players need to reveal the card from their hand before putting it on their deck. (See Bureaucrat: "Each other player reveals a Victory card from their hand and puts it onto their deck (or reveals a hand with no Victory cards).") The word reveal also makes it more clear that the card is coming from their hand. Also, instead of using "copy of that card", I'd suggest using "matches". (See Doctor: "Name a card. Reveal the top 3 cards of your deck. Trash the matches.")

Suggested text: "Reveal 2 cards from your hand, then discard them. Each other player with 4 or more cards in hand reveals one that matches one of your revealed cards and puts it onto their deck (or reveals they can't)."

Moundbuilder Village - Since all cards in play can be discarded at once, I think this means you can set aside a card that was just played this turn and during Clean-up was discarded at the same time as Moundbuilder Village. This may be a point to make in any additional printed rules/explanation for the card.

Profiteer - The phrase "cards in your hand and deck cost 0 or 1 more" might be more clear if you add the word  "all" before "cards".

Riches - The period should be placed outside the final parenthesis "(including other Riches)."

Shipwreck - Incorrect word order in last sentence. Should be "When you buy this for 4…"

Stronghold - The text is missing a word. It should say: "return to your Action phase first."

Tomb Raider - The period should be placed outside the final parenthesis "(or reveals they can't)."

For example, here's a (scaled down) image I edited together in GIMP for the first 9 cards from the Mini Set Design Contest (printed on legal sized paper):

Card images width x height in pixels: 696x1074
Page image size: 2060x3200
Coordinates for upper left corners of each card image:
(0, 0)   (681, 0)   (1362, 0)
(0, 1057)   (681, 1057)   (1362, 1057)
(0, 2114)   (681, 2114)   (1362, 2114)

This gives a Horiz 14 pixel overlap and a Vert 16 pixel overlap.

To get the cards printed out the right size in GIMP, use Print-->Image Settings and adjust preferences to
X Resolution = [width of card image in pixels]/59 = 11.8 pixels/mm
Y Resolution = [height of card image in pixels]/91 = 11.8 pixels/mm
(since Dominion cards are 59mm wide and 91mm high)

In my example above with images 696x1074, X and Y Resolution end up being ~11.8 pixels/mm.

Another option for editing is to use the montage operation of Image Magick (command line utility):
https://www.imagemagick.org/script/montage.php

To overlap card images in a 4x2 layout with Horiz 14 pixel overlap and Vert 16 pixel overlap:

magick montage *.jpg -tile 4x2 -geometry 696x1074-14-16 montage.png

This could then be printed out in Landscape mode on Letter sized paper.
You can adjust the parameters as needed, based on the image size of your cards (provided it is consistent from card to card).

Since I sleeve my cards, making fan-made variant cards is easy.

I use extra dominion cards from duplicate expansions that I've bought used for cheap (much much cheaper than buying blanks, and with this method the cards need not be blank).

I print out the cards in color using a color laser printer on regular paper. I cut the variant card printouts with a papercutter, being sure to crop them so that they are slightly smaller than the size of an actual card.

Then I sleeve each variant printout with a regular dominion card behind it (no glue needed, as the sleeve keeps it aligned just fine and since the paper card image is cropped smaller than the card size, there is nothing hanging over the edge even if it is slightly misaligned).

Aside from a slight thickness issue (which isn't noticeable with the eye) it is indistinguishable from a regular card. The black borders around the cards make it pretty seamless.

To save time, I put 8 or 9 cards on one page (arranged in 2x4 Landscape on Letter size paper or 3x3 Portrait on Legal size paper, depending on how I edited them together) and overlap the card images slightly, so that when I cut with the papercutter, single cuts between the overlapping cards makes them all just the right smaller size.

Thanks for making these cards. Is it possible to get hi-res versions of the cards (even in a zip file somewhere)? I find the hi-res files improve the clarity and look when I'm printing them out.

7
Yes, I noticed the Sarcophagus-pile-draining ability with $2 cost reduction as well. I think a good solution for that issue is to make Sarcophagus cost an appropriate amount of debt, instead of a coin cost, eliminating the possibility of playing 2 of itself, no matter what $ cost reduction is in effect.

Thanks for these great cards. I'm planning to print out the whole set.

Will there eventually be a place where all the cards will be available in hi-res and with a consistent image size? That would make it much easier for me to combine the images and print them out on my printer.

Currently, most of the hi-res images from twitter are jpg with some as png (Shipwreck, Stronghold, Tomb Raider).
For Moundbuilder Village, I somehow managed to get it in both jpg and png (not sure how).

The image sizes are also not consistent:

Moundbuilder Village.jpg , Tomb Raider.png and the rest of the .jpgs are 1336x2048
Moundbuilder Village.png , Shipwreck.png and Stronghold.png are 1403x2151

Thanks for making and posting these cards.

I've got a few typo corrections, in case you want to make them:

Cottage – Unbold the period after +1 Action.
Scrounger – Unbold the semicolon after +3 Cards. “Look” should be lowercase “look”
Sellsword – “Or” should be lowercase “or”
Webbing – “it’s” should be “its”

Thanks for making this set!

While downloading everything from the (updated) first post, I noticed that your imgur folder only contains 19 unique Traitor cards (5 Backstabbers, 5 Defectors, 5 Heretics, but just 4 Turncoats), instead of the advertised 20. Can you add the missing Turncoat?

Another way to buff Gatherer a bit would be to add +1 Action to the "above the line" part (akin to the $2 costing Candlestick Maker)

Since it needs a boost, how about changing the start of Majestic Chimera to "Name two cards" (leaving the rest the same)?

Here are some alternative lock images for your consideration:

I stretched the last one to correct for perspective distortion, Van Gogh filtered it, cropped it and cloned more border to make this image: https://imgur.com/a/e608L The first two could also be Van Gogh filtered to make them look more like illustrations than photos, and second one could certainly be cropped better, but here’s an idea of what they look like mocked up 1 2 3 in the Dominion Card Image Generator:

Dominion: Adventures Previews / Re: Adventures 2E is out
« on: September 08, 2017, 11:17:27 am »
If anyone has found a store (online or brick & mortar) that has copies of Dominion: Adventures second printing/version in stock, please post the name of the store here. They'll get my business.

I have called/emailed many stores (about 10, both online and local ones) and none have it yet. The stores also haven't taken up my gentle suggestion to ask for the second printing from their distributor.
I also ordered from Amazon.com (when the price was good last week) and ended up with a first printing (that I returned).

I feel like Adventures 2E is "out there" like the X-Files motto: "The truth is out there" - https://static1.gamespot.com/uploads/original/1338/13388005/3067765-1562140435-The%2Bt.jpg

Is there any way to identify the updated edition (2E) from online descriptions (i.e. by a different ASIN or Item model number on Amazon or a different UPC)?

Amazon.com currently lists Dominion: Adventures with "ASIN B00TF7YMVW" and "Item model number 501RGG". These are the same as in 2015 (according to archive.org). Amazon also gives no UPC.

It doesn't seem like the product information has been updated to the new edition on RGG. It has "UPC: 655132005104" which is the same as in 2015 (archive.org)

I definitely like having this thread available, and it's great to see it get updated when you find new cards, etc.

Thanks for the updated Season cards.

I think Peltmonger's type "Akction" should be "Action".

It is very simple to find an illustration without name: copy the illustration from card and store it. Then you can upload it to google picture search. You will get the original very quickly.

Yes, that usually works quickly. A more thorough search can be done with www.tineye.com (which I used in this case).
Really? It usually seems for me that TinEye is less efficient than google. Too many broken links and often it can't even find the image.
"Your mileage may vary." I usually try Google first, then TinEye, if Google isn't giving me the results I want. They arrange the results differently which can be good or bad depending on what you're looking for.

But for this image it took some extra work, since almost all the search results were for Wallpaper sites or other unattributed images (as Asper mentioned above). Eventually I found one that referenced a stock photography site (Thinkstock), and then moved my search there. But that site didn't support uploading an image to search their stock, which led to phase two, searching based on descriptions of the scene (Tuscany, landscape, etc.).

This particular location, a stunningly beautiful olive farm in Tuscany, Italy, has been photographed by many professional photographers. So I had to weed out images by other photographers who used slightly different perspectives and times of day. I finally found several images from the exact angle, with the little bales of hay to the left of the house in the precise configuration. And then found the one he took that has the light on in the house, and the right sunlight! From the very brief attribution info on the stock photo site, I was able to find the photographer's own website, his full name, etc.

Thanks for updating all your cards. It is great to have the whole set in one place with all the corrections. The cards look great.

I did some searching and found the photographer & photo for the image used on the Plantation card (the only one still unattributed):

“Tuscan Morning, Val d'Orcia, Italy” Photograph by Francesco Riccardo Iacomino
Go to http://francescoriccardoiacomino.com/tuscany
You will see a grid of images, look at the one three down, five to the right (at least with a "normal sized" browser window). The text “Open Space” will show up when you hover over the image.

I'll change these all today and hopefully upload them as well.

I'm hoping to print out a bunch of your cards next week, so it would be great to get updated versions of any you've fixed in the near future. Thanks for making them.

Can someone tell me how to link a card so that it shows up small and blows up large when clicked on?
Instead of the usual <img> (except with square brackets), use <img width=200> (except with square brackets) and everything else the same.

I can't believe the way you all are conducting yourselves.
Why not? It's Faraday today.
That's pretty cagey, I don't get what you mean.

This thread had lots of potential, but now it’s come full circuit and run aground.
At the current rate, some live wire is going to get charged with assault and battery.
Let’s crank some AC/DC, keep it positive, and let Donald field some questions.
Got any good leads?
