How does multiple war chests work, if I play a second war chest, then can I gain the card that was named for the first war chest, or are they both banned?

I heard 10/28 somewhere...

Happy birthday to me...

Priest I haven't been impressed by, yet. It seems like you need a lot in place for its potential to be unleashed; it didn't do much on the boards I've played with it.

I managed a double tac engine where payload was 6 markets, 2 couriers and 2 priests.  I was able to double province and didn't run out of fuel.  I was actually surprised it worked, but it was fun to play.

What's a Courier?

I assume it's supposed to be Courtier.

Could also be Messenger, which has a similar name in certain languages.

Yes, I meant Courtier

... that I made a Fortune (literally) in the Black Market.

I think Conclave will go up next year, the lack of +1 card hurts it compared to other villages, but +2 coin is strong in the opening.  As long as there is a good variety of cards you want in your deck, and some draw, Conclave is strong.

Thanks for the help.

Farmer's Market and Kings court are a fun little combo.

Roughly, how many ideas do you have in files that might work for a future expansion?

i'm not sure that I agree with Bridge being on S tier.  A, yes, but I have had a lot of games where I cannot support more than 1 bridge, and while it is useful, bridge really wants to be played in multiples to really shine.

Dominion Online at Shuffle iT / Re: Is it okay to buy Possession?
« on: November 08, 2017, 04:14:57 pm »
Scout and company were not "errata'ed" out of existence.  They were discontinued in the new editions of Base and Intrigue, and dropped from the online game so that online matches 2nd edition.  If Donald were to do Alchemy 2nd edition, he could do the same to Possession, but as he has ruled that out, don't expect an official errata making Possession go away.

I'm happy with this solution.

... that I inherited tournament on turn 3, bought a province on turn 4, and earned my first prize on turn 6.

Trash Royal Blacksmith
Get a Curse

But Curse does not cost less than Royal blacksmith, it just has a different currency.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Sauna/Silver or Other Opening

It's also worth questioning how fast to buy Sauna when things like Baker, Alms, or Borrow are on the board.

I feel like on a Baker start, opening double Sauna isn't the best, since it doesn't get trashing going at all and doesn't increase buying power.

Under most circumstances, I think that Sauna/Silver is the opening and save the coin for when you don't hit 4/5.

Cute trick when you have limited terminal space:  Summon an Island then you get to set aside a card your next turn without consuming an action.  Really lowers the opportunity cost for playing the island (though not the opportunity cost for buying it, which increases).  Not good if there are power 5's you want instead of course.

Both Summon and Island are compulsory, right? So there's a (probably small) chance you could be forced to set aside something you'd prefer not to.

Of course, just like there is a chance that your Lookout will be forced to trash something you want to keep.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: How carefully/slowly do you play?

Wow, that's pretty harsh.  I takes me about that long just to move my mouse.  I'm guessing that wither we have not played or I'm on your blacklist (not that I mind).

We should only rank things we buy.  That means cards and events.

Heirlooms, boons, hexes and landmarks are not things we buy, they either are just there in set up or are given randomly.

Events should be combined with cards of the same price point, since they compete directly with those cards for your buys.

Highway to Hell for me.

A poem for Duchess:

The Duchess invited me over for tea
She sat right across from me
Her organs internal
made noises infernal
But everyone thought it was me.

It also sucked because it was so swingy, hitting one persons Provence and another persons copper.

23
Locusts is definitely the biggest offender for swingness. It's realllly bad. I appreciate Donald trying to make "trash the top card of your deck" work, but this is kinda a proof that it really doesn't.

Yeah, I don't get locust.  After Donald admits that Sab was bad and gets rid of it, he goes and brings it back in a form that you don't even have to buy in order to use.

Just played an BV/Werewolf deck.  My opponent ragequit.  I continued against the Rat, got 8 werewolves and was routinely hitting him with 5 hexes per turn.  (I also played pathfinder on BV, so was overdrawing even with less than half my werewolves as action.)

25
With the caveat that I have only played a very few games with Hexes, I have to say that they are the first mechanic introduced in Nocturne that I'm not liking at first glance.  The few games I have played seem extra swingy and sloggy (in an unfun manner).  In one, with Werewolf and Skulk, we each got 2 Skulks, and my opponent was able to hit 5/8 at will but I couldn't get above 4 to save my life, so while I was getting totally destroyed by hexes, he was skating to an easy blowout.  This out of nearly identical openings.

I know that more time is needed, but for now, I'm just not thrilled about the hexes.
