General Discussion / Re: STAR WARS

I didn't mind TFA being similar to ANH, as a good story stays a good story. Look how many people love Avatar even though the story has been done a dozen times before?

So the people that liked the model got TFA, and the people that wanted something a bit different got TLJ.

What about an Enchantress-type effect, where Action cards basically "do nothing" for the turn? It wouldn't outright skip the Action phase, but it would only provide marginal cycling benefit.

What if you skip your Clean-up phase with Ravaged? That seems really wacky.
Make sure you don’t get rid of all your actions, so you can do something next turn?

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Tom Vasel Nocturne Review
« on: December 15, 2017, 04:01:49 am »
Bit of shame that he didn't mention how much more thematic Nocturne is than previous sets. That has always been a big criticism of Dominion. Although I never really understood it myself.
He almost made a joke of it at the beginning of the review. "Where's the werewolves?"

The thing I noticed, he does NOT like any setup that requires more than 10x Kingdom cards + Base cards. Tokens, mats, extra cards always get criticized in his Doe-Minion reviews.

Disney has no idea what they are doing with Star Wars. I'm not going into spoilers, but they really drop the ball with this one.
I disagree. There was some fat they could trim out, but overall it felt like it fit.

Most of the stuff in Nocturne that works for the typical player is based on just doing exactly what the card says. The Night thing is clearly the most complex addition to Nocturne, but the card effects are all fairly simple.

Already sold out at least 6 auditoriums for Star Wars tonight. Would it be unreasonable for me to call off due to "dread"?

Yeah if you play Procession on Champion, you get +2 Actions every time you play an action.

I'm really enjoying the Spirit cards.

I played a game with the 2nd Edition update packs, had a neat bit of interaction between Replace, Lurker, and Artisan. Gaining Provinces while giving my opponent curses, then pulling the Artisan out of the Trash to do it again.

With the exponential draw created by playing multiples, I think Madman is comparable. Not too similar for it to be a problem, but comparable nonetheless.

The Madman got a day job? And for only $3?

But now Lurker can pull any of those Actions from the Trash.

I would say Night Watchman is closer to Cartographer than Scout. It discards unwanted cards, it doesn't put them into your hand.

The great John Madden once said, "you want to score points because the team that scores the most points usually wins."

The Last Jedi trade screenings were today. Generally positive reactions. Seems like it may be better liked than Force Awakens, but I doubt it will match the numbers due to heavier competition for screen counts through the holiday weeks.

There's a thing that happens with a certain person that I won't even put in spoiler tags, just in case. Snoke is pretty strong, btw.

I'm pretty sure you need special permits for monitors that large.

At which point, the FV also provides coin, while most villages do not.

Well you did. You called it "a fixed Possession"

This only works like Possession if your deck composition matches your opponent's.

Doesn't FV effectively contribute +Actions equivalent to having 2 villages? Since after playing you have +2 Actions now and 2 Actions to start your next turn?
