How about: You may play an Action card from your hand. If you do, trash this. (then situations where terminal draw into a good action allows you to play it at the penalty of trashing jeweler for an estate?

Inventor - what happens if the cards are trashed?

self-trashers: embargo, feast, death cart; or trash-for-benefit: remodel, procession, salvager; trash-reward: cultist, squire; or weird stuff like Ambassador and Masquerade, or even your card Ale House that could put those cards into your deck?

I must have a completely different definition for Guild from outside the gaming community because nothing you guys are saying makes sense to me. :-/

Other than putting WALL-E first, everything else kinda ties for 2nd...

Even then it's hard for me to consistently say it's my favorite. I absolutely loved Brave. The Toy Story trilogy is amazing. Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc, and Incredibles are all delightful. Bug's Life and Ratatouille were both very good but they seem to be lacking some little something the rest have. Cars and Cars 2 are entertaining films, the former being considerably better than the latter. Cars 2, unfortunately, was mostly running jokes and marketing, but it entertained me with the Bond-esque themes. Up is probably the best opening 10 minutes of any movie I've seen in a long time.

But for the sake of argument, I'm voting for WALL-E tonight.

Can't you just type them as text in one post? Then we can quote and critique as nessccary.

Should probably have a "this turn" in there somewhere to keep that reset from happening each Buy.

I'm obviously new to this, and I appreciate your great advice.
The start with text-only versions so it's easier for us to comment on specific mechanics. You should also read up on other cards and why things do or do not work.

What about mini-sets of say, 4 new cards? (i.e 4 new Durations, 4 new Treasures, 4 new Attacks) These could all be very similar cards and could satisfy the expansion-hungry audience. I think the only one I'd avoid is a set of only alt-Victory cards. I think people would spend $8-$10 on such packs. Heck, maybe include redemption codes for people to use one of those new cards on Goko or something.
I don't see the beauty of small sets like that. Like, a store has shelves with the Dominion expansions. They want this product in the same place so that the right people see it. It's not a good size for that space though. And then, like, the plastic insert has got to be too expensive for a small product like that, but surely it would bother the publisher to have provided that plastic insert for all other products but not these (yes many people might not care but they aren't the publisher).
I'll be honest. I wasn't even thinking of the plastic inserts that come with the games. I just assumed a box like poker cards come in. I think I actually forgot the boxes had inserts in them because I consolidated to one box so quickly.

With all this talk about promos and treasure chest and specific card types...

Oh, and you've mentioned you'd prefer to do Dominion 2. Do you have a game design you're working on to fill that space?

Here's a great list to refer to to refresh your memory: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_animated_films

No mention of Rescuers Down Under yet? That along with Robin Hood and Wreck-It Ralph are my three favorites in no particular order.
I mentioned Rescuers and Robin Hood. :) Down Under was excellent too. Wreck-It Ralph should be delivered sometime this week.

This thread may need a poll soon!

There are 50 movies in the Disney animated canon.  No poll.
52.

Wreck-It Ralph came out in November, remember? :)

Nomad Camp.

Why? It allows for a turn 2 mountebank 60% of the time, and mountebank is leaps ahead of sea hag. After that, it's just Mountebank BM
I didn't even notice that Mountebank was in the Kingdom... Neat...

Man... I've played games where I know by turn 4 that I'm going to lose but continue to play anyways. What's the point when the game doesn't last very long, and someone has to win anyways?

You just have to gain a card on your last turn to empty a pile, and have enough actions left to trash whatever is left in your hand and/or deck after that.

I'm too hungry to think off all the cards that do these goofy things though.

Emperor's New Groove. Because it is the anti-thesis of Disney, yet still produced by Disney.

I love Kronk's (patrick warburton) voice. Yzma (Eartha Kitt) is a wonderful villan. And John Goodman and David Spade play off each other really well as the Pacha and the Emperor.

oh and the Nightmare Before Christmas. That might actually be my true favorite.
Unfortunately, Nightmare Before Christmas is not considered animated for the purposes of Disney Animation Studios.

And I feel sad that I forgot about Little Mermaid. That was my dad's favorite.

Dumbo does get away with a lot of "questionable" race portrayals, especially with the crows.

I'm seeing a way to empty 3 piles BEFORE the end of your last turn, then AFTER that drawing the last card you gained and trashing it before trashing the last card (i.e. embargo/death card/etc)

Sleeping Beauty.

The music, the animation style, and the villain are all favorites among my Disney collection. I am a pretty avid Disney fan, so there is quite a bit of competition.

Honorable mentions go to: Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Lion King, and Tangled.

Other notables: Fantasia, Rescuers, Lady and the Tramp, and Robin Hood.

(I'm sure I've forgotten a few... it's late and I don't feel like getting up and checking to see what else I own. :p )

Still should have the "Choose one:" at the beginning (see: Minion)

Quote from: Crusader
Choose one: +$3; or trash this and each other player reveals his hand and trashes an Attack or Treasure that you choose. You gain any Treasure trashed this way.

If you use it for the attack and your 3 opponents reveal hands with the treasure Copper, Copper, Gold and no attacks; you would be forced to gain all 3 treasures, instead of just one like Thief.

I would be tempted to make it an Action-Attack-Knight for thematic purposes. (It would only make a play difference in a game with Knights anyways.)

(i mean serously now, kuildeous just used both atari and vhs in his example)

Hey, it's been confirmed that I'm not the oldest member here.

But, still, get off my lawn.

(I do still have my VHS of Monty Python's Flying Circus because I can't bear to throw all that away)
I have my Atari connected to my flatscreen TV.  I never realized how big those pixels were...

I remember the day I was given access to the company's excel files to clean up the mess they called "formulas"

(I still can't even begin to teach people that they can use the cell they're typing in AS a calculator. Everyone else at work uses a calculator to get the number then puts that number in Excel... le sigh)

Rules Questions / Re: Feast, Throne Room and Band of Misfits - why?
« on: March 01, 2013, 02:20:48 pm »
Even without the TR-Lock the second play would not be "nothing", would it? A Throned Feast is played as two Feasts, too - no matter it gets trashed inbetween. So BoM would still be played, and only the lock hinders it to be played as BoM again once it's trashed.
You can look at the other thread for the arguments from that time; my position hasn't changed. Throne / Band has a special-case ruling that makes Throne lock in; it's an interpretation of how Throne works. *Without* that ruling Band would do nothing the second time.
I'm not disagreeing with your position, just stating that when I first read it, it made sense to me that Band returned to doing nothing from the Trash as it's no longer in play. (This is that card until it leaves play.)  But for purposes of continuity with other one-shot cards working with TR, I have no problem with Band being played under those rules when designated as those cards. (Feast, Embargo, Mining Village, etc)

Unfortunately, even if it weighed the same as a duck, it still could not be... a Witch.
