I want to open Villa, go back to my Action phase and play Necropolis, just because I can. :)

Better yet:

First hand: 4C, Necropolis
Play 4C, buy Villa, play Villa, play Necropolis
Buy Alms, gain Villa, hey, it's your Action phase again! (And now we know why it says "once per turn").
Play Villa, now we have 3 Action cards in play, $2 from the played Villas and we can get a T1 Peddler. :)

I don't think you can gain Villa with Alms when you have 4C in play.

How could you possibly think that chairs was scum when Roadrunner was the alternative wagon?

Scout/Scout is actually underrated IMO. This is best done with Alms. If you play a Scout on turn three, you draw Estates, giving you a great chance to hit $5 on turn four.

It's not a great chance because you still have one Scout in your draw pile. Actually the chance is 2/7 to be exact.

The main reason why I think Capital is definitely going to get purchased a lot more often than Contraband or Cache is that it's insane on your last turn. Insane enough that I bet it will get bought the turn before a lot of the time.

I don't mind playtesters being playtesters. Sure, I would also like to be a playtester, but as it turns out, I didn't participate in the tournament based on which Donald chose playtesters, so I can't really complain.

I love how four days after you posted this, a card is previewed that lets you do exactly this.

So Donald is pretty much just browsing the forums and designing new cards on the spot to edge case people.

Except that was in March, so it was 2 months and 5 days ago.

Holy crap, it's been two months since that post? Feels more like two weeks tops.

Was that the hammer? If so, it was so bad.

I mean how the hell did we get a lynch in 27 hours?

Frustrated because the lynch was so early, not because it was on town.

Just realized an autocorrect error in my post above. "Want" is supposed to be "wasn't"

Basically, I don't think Joseph was "cracking under pressure." I think he made a scummy post or two and so I am voting for him because I think he is scum
Nah, no pressure. No-one in their right mind would hammer this so early.

So are you scum or aren't you?
What do people think?

I think someone should hammer.

I haven't skimmed the whole thread yet, but we don't know if there will be more VP generating cards than debt cards. It's too soon to know for sure whether it's a buff or a nerf. It's possibly a nerf against Guilds coin token cards too since they can't be stockpiled for use across multiple possession turns.

Well, I was only considering the existing card interactions. I guess it could be considered a nerf if you take into account the new cards.

To attack anyone who disagrees as a scum player.

That is a straw man argument and demonstrably false. This response further confirms that you're scum.

Take that train of thought to it's natural conclusion, Mr. McCarthy, and you'll find that everyone who disagrees with you is automatically scum.

What is my train of thought?

So I can use their Pirate Ships to thin my deck and mine as payload? Miser is so 2015, guys.

I don't think you want to use Mine as a payload very often if you're using their Pirate Ships to thin your deck.

Don't we already have a way to double your money though? If you have $1 and you play a Copper, you've just doubled your money.

Thanks for outing yourself, Seprix. Now we just need the last scum to out themselves as well and we're in pretty good shape!

Anyway, ugh, Possession is already a messed up card. And, now the VP thing. Well, I guess you should never buy Bishop if Possession is on the board. Banning the card might not be such a bad idea.

Buying trash-for-benefit was always a pretty bad idea with Possession.

I also love that Possession is getting a nerf. It's not the best card in the world to begin with, but now it's even not as good. :)

It's getting a buff. Previously, you could counter Possession by going for Goons and Bishop and Monument, but now if you do that, your opponent will get the tokens instead when he possesses you.

Oh, Capital + Herbalist!
You mean Counterfeit.

No discard = free $12.

No, I think he means Herbalist. No discard = free $6 every turn. I'm not sure if that actually works though.

Seems clear it would work...

Right, I always forget that Herbalist isn't Scheme.

I think that people are usually more inclined to think that they can do something (in this case, shuffling a deck with 0 or 1 cards in it) technically, even if they can't do it physically.

The one tricky thing is how these things work when cards compare costs. There it works like Potion: apples and oranges. A reddish hexagon with an 8 isn't more or less than $3.

Prediction: The red hexagons are gunpowders

Close enough. They even disappear once you've "used" them.

This is an awful strategy.

It's not awful it's just easy.

It's awful (in the sense that going for it will lose you a ton of games).

This is exactly the kind of deep analysis I come to f.ds for.

https://youtu.be/qQ3cSfzaYEk

Hunting Party, by existing on the board, helps engines so much that any non-engine strategy will have a hard time winning the game unless the engine is really bad or the other strategy is really good. Including Hunting Parties in the other strategy is not enough to make it really good, because Hunting Party doesn't help the other strategy even nearly as much as it helps the engine. That is because engine strategies are built to benefit from cycling, because they keep building the deck while other strategies are already greening. When you have cycling, your newly added cards will appear in your hand much sooner, which allows engine strategies to get really explosive once they reach the point where they can cycle through their entire deck every turn. If you're playing a strategy that greens instead of building the deck, the cycling is just going to cause your newly added green cards to appear in your hand much sooner, which is undesirable. Furthermore, digging for unique cards is a somewhat more useful effect for engines, because in the early game, you want to connect your cards (be it trashers with junk or splitters with terminal draw) because that's where the vast majority of your cycling power comes from anyway, and Hunting Party helps with that.

Well my example is kind of the BM for HP stacks, it's a benchmark. Usually you can improve on it.

Quite literally, because HP stacks are a form of big money (you spend your early turns buying cards that are powerful on their own and don't antisynergize with each other and then you green at BM speed). I guess you can call it "improving on it", but to word it with a little bit more clarity: usually you can go for an entirely different strategy and kick the HP stack player's ass.

I still don't get the concept of having a favorite color. That's like having a favorite musical note or a favorite letter of the alphabet. It's not really anything on its own, it only becomes something meaningful when it's combined with something else (like a shape, or another color).
