Sunwalker only costs 6...
And the argument is that it only gets played because it has the Taunt. There aren't many $6 Minions without a Battlecry, a Deathrattle or Taunt, and the ones that exist don't see a lot of play in Constructed.

I guess Charge and Divine Shield are also reasons to play more expensive Minions, but they're pretty rare on expensive Minions.
Argent Commander doesn't seem half bad in constructed. It can earn it's value at the very least.

True, and that's because you get to do something before it dies to removal.

So it's basically a terminal Treasure (!) that junks you every time you play it. You might get one or two if the Curses have run out for other reasons, but I don't see this card being very good ever.

What is "Sarnath"?  I keep seeing people say it instead of "ninja'd".  Is it some ninja from pop culture that I am unaware of?

He was a MiseTings (an MTG site/forum) user who was known for often beating people to the punch.

I think Masq without passing is a kind of boring card like Junk Dealer.

Junk Dealer is one of the most fun cards in the game.

I've always thought there should be no threshold.

I read a compelling piece once advocating "vote from birth." Not saying it's necessarily a good idea, but it's not absurd on its face like it initially sounds.

Link ?

The problem with that idea is that it would be akin to giving parents extra votes.

That's exactly what it is, up until a certain age (12 or something I think was his proposal). I'll PM you the link since this is getting pretty RSP.

Just post the link in RSP, I'm curious too and there could be others too.

That new Shaman card is really silly. It's not particularly useful, unless the meta is really aggro heavy. If you're facing a control deck it's just too risky.

EDIT: 4 mana spell, put a random minion from each player's hand into the battlefield.

I assume that doesn't mean I get the minion from my opponent's hand?

We're really close to crossing the streams with Random Stuff II here.

Funny, every time I've opened this thread on this page, I've thought that it's the Random Stuff II thread until now.

I'm visiting KC in two weeks!  Any suggestions?

Other KC's. And some +Cards. You can't really not get that engine going.

Well, even with just one KC, he's going to find 6 Treasure cards so that should be pretty good already.

Awaclus gives a non-committal post on the experienced vs. newbie issue, then votes Hydrad for being the first poster. This post looks a little scummy to me.

Another super-hedgey post from Awaclus, and another jokey vote. More scum points.

And he pre-emptively gives himself and excuse to make bad arguments. Ugh.

This is so hedgey it has leaves growing on it.

You're the hedge-enomy. You're a hedge-case. That's one way to get ahedge.

Well, I can see how pre-emptively giving myself an excuse to make bad arguments would be a scum thing to do, but the thing is, it wasn't an excuse to make bad arguments, it's actually true. But the other posts you linked, what about them in particular makes them look scummy to you?

I remember having to ask this question about Hydrad too. You seem to have a habit of accusing people of being hedgey, nervous or whatever without explaining the reasons why you think that way, and I find it pretty annoying, because then I can't really explain why I disagree with your reasoning. Well, even if your reasoning is actually good and something that I could agree with (doesn't apply here for obvious reasons), I can't do that unless I know what it is.

Rules Questions / Re: Goko Prince Scheme bug?
« on: November 16, 2014, 02:18:12 pm »
After having my first games with Prince recently, i thought about it setting aside a Possessed players Tactician. Boy, i was happy when i remembered that doesn't work. I mean, if it played Durations only every second turn it wouldn't be that awful (every second turn is awesome, every first doesn't exist), but still. I assume there are some nasty Prince-Possession moves, anyhow, like Rats or Trading Post (provided the possessed one bought them in the first place).
Remake is also pretty nice, especially if you have a Militia or something.

Now we got 30 with the rainbow cards.

Few things in life are more satisfying than discarding a card that you could have played to tell the other player that her newest card is another copy of that same card, and having this result in her actually playing the card without receiving a single clue about it.

First meme!

If only I could view it!

If only you could view it then it wouldn't be a meme.

Man I read this when you first posted it and was just totally confused; I tried to understand why him viewing something would stop it from being a meme. Then just now I came across it again and totally got it. Well played!  ;D

I got it now thanks to this post. Man, I'm stupid, I even thought of the same joke before qmech posted it but couldn't think of a good way to put it into words.

Is there another possibility to score more than 6 points without +buy?

Why do you need to score more than 6 points per turn? Big money can't score more than 6 points per turn either, and it doesn't even score 6 points every turn unlike an engine.

I just had a horrible Druid deck on Arena. I had a couple of good cards (Illidan, Force of Nature and one Swipe), but my curve was awful and I also had to pick stuff like Coldlight Oracles when there was nothing better available. Ended up losing games against pretty bad players, somehow managed to win 2 games too, and got a pack and 40 gold. Yay. Then I opened the pack:

Not even mad.

Help! / Re: hiroki vs goko took my $ - log
« on: November 16, 2014, 07:40:59 am »
For hiroki, buying a lot of Worker's Villages early has also a lot to do with the fact that if he doesn't draw one with his Hunting Grounds, then he will draw a lot of dead Actions. But if he has it, then he can potentially play a Haggler after the Hunting Grounds which is super good, and when he has lots of villages in his deck, he can get Hunting Grounds whenever he has the money without having to worry about too many terminals in his deck. IGG over WV wouldn't have been super useful, because it junks both you and your opponent, and in this game, the IGG isn't that much more useful than the Curse and you have to spend a buy or a gain getting it. Haggler over WV would've beaten the purpose because then you would have drawn dead Hagglers with Hunting Grounds. Silver over WV would have been pretty bad too, because you don't really need the $ from the Silver when you already have one and a Haggler.

I think that Goko Took my $ already lost when he didn't open Great Hall. Then he lost some more when he went for IGG. Those are the major mistakes he did, and they are what resulted in his deck being slow in the early game compared to hiroki's, and eventually losing the Worker's Village split very badly.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: What is the worst card in Dominion?
« on: November 16, 2014, 07:10:37 am »
Thief in 2P has even less use than Scout. Scout at least does anything nice for your deck instead of clearing out your opponents coppers. (Although both are, most of the time, inferior to Silver) Even Transmute, one of the slowest cards in the entire game, has it's uses, especially with more Alchemy cards on the board. Thief isn't even a good buy in base only games >99% of the time. Sometimes against Chapeled decks it's okay, but even that are rare cases.

Scout does something nice for your deck, but it practically never does anything nice enough to justify losing one card in your hand or buying the card for $4. Thief usually just helps your opponents, but at least there are situations where it's actually a card that you want to buy.

PS : I feel like your card is not really good. It's pretty much a cantrip that can, sometimes, draw exactly what you want. That's more a 3$ in my book (it's like a better version of Wishing Well, which isn't that strong), but I'm not sure.
Wishing Well is strong and completely different, it's a lab which sometimes is just a cantrip. c4 never increases your hand size, but it lets you play the strong cards in your deck more often per shuffle, which means it's comparable to Scheme, Throne Room, Scavenger and arguably Sage. It needs to cost $4 because you don't want to enable a Sea Hag*/c4 opening, which would be very strong when it works out and not very impressive when it doesn't, and pretty often the correct play.

*or Marauder, Young Witch, Jack of all Trades etc

I don't think interacting with the chat is a big deal if it's not a tournament/league match. I guess it does make the difference that your opponent is more capable of making correct plays than their rating suggests, but that's hardly relevant.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Treasure Map annoyance
« on: November 15, 2014, 09:05:59 am »
Going for Treasure Maps early is almost always an awful idea. Geronimoo's simulator suggests that if you just buy basic Treasure cards and Victory cards and nothing else, you should beat someone who just buys two Treasure Maps, basic Treasure cards and Victory cards and nothing else 2/3 of the time. Any card that supports a big money strategy but doesn't support a Treasure Map strategy just makes it even worse for the Treasure Map player. Go for them if you're already drawing more cards each turn than there are cards in your deck and there's a +buy that you can use.
