With there being 14 wonders and 3 players, I'm wondering if you want to do wonder selection as 1 random wonder, or perhaps as 1 out of 2 (or perhaps 3)? Naturally 1 would be rules as written and be quicker, but out of 2 or 3 I think is a little more interesting. If we do multiple wonders, it'd be select your wonder secretly then choose a side simultaneously after seeing neighbours.

This is my first game of 7 wonders.  So I vote for a random wonder because that gives me less to worry about.  However, I am fine with picking a wonder if the rest of you disagree.

I second DG's thoughts on Familiar here, but more because Potions are like another stack of Curses to ruin your opponent with after the Curses are depleted.

Does forge being on the board change your opinion?  If you line up a forge and two potions then you get a free province.

Okay, actually, I kind of like the following plan, but obviously both hyramgraff and liopoil would need to be on board for it:

hyram controls 5 right, I control A up.
hyram looks in A5 (currently A1), and liopoil moves into whichever of D5 and E4 is "safe".

I think this requires minimal trust, and gets good use out of our turns.

If hyram doesn't move 5 right, then liopoil can move to the vision chamber.
If I don't move A up, hyram wastes an action.
If hyram doesn't look in A5, he could move into my space, and then I act before him and besides I'd be surrounded by empty/safe rooms.
liopoil is forced to move into D5 or E4 which could be trapped/acid bath.

liopoil goes first next round, so he can move into the vision chamber then.

Let's see, analyzing the situation where I'm a guard...
if I didn't move A up, I'd have 2 actions that I could use to mess things up...
If E4 is an acid bath, AND I control 4 left, I could move into the acid bath and kill liopoil.

So, if E4 is an acid bath, hyramgraff should not go through with this.  Otherwise though, I think it would work.

What's nice about this is, if hyram's a guard we reveal room E4 which might be an unannounced Room 25 (that would mean he wouldn't go along with it though).
If liopoil's a guard we might be forcing him to reveal C5, since E4 could be the mortal chamber.

Otherwise, this is essentially the same as hyram moving into the vision chamber and looking at A1.

I'm not on board with this plan.  Mostly because E4 is red.

I knew this had potential to be a crazy game when I saw both Ambassador and Steward.  Then you add in Familiar, Minion, Merchant Guild and Village and you have the perfect recipe for a come from behind engine that wins on turn 27.

I lost the initial Ambassador tennis when my opponent (who played first) lined up all three estates with both ambassadors on turns three and four while I had my opening buys collide with coppers on turn four.  I opted to trash with Steward, which I think turned out to be the right move.

From then my opponent grabbed a quick two golds and four provinces and I switched into an engine by adding a village, minion, potion and familiars.  My thinner deck then proceeded to fill his deck with junk and then pick up six duchies while my opponent only managed an extra province and two duchies.

I think that I may have been lucky that my opponent never got a province with one of his forges.  I also didn't get a chance to use ambassador to return my familiars once the curse pile had run out, but that probably would have been like rubbing salt in a wound.
