I had expected some clue like Brin or Elon to connect those.
I might have tried Mozart 3 to connect TURKEY, MARCH, and GENIUS thinking of the alla turca piano piece https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piano_Sonata_No._11_(Mozart). But, again, NIGHT would probably ruin it https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eine_kleine_Nachtmusik.
I can't think of any good connections either.

There were quite some traps, with SOLDIER and BAND being targets but MARCH of opposite colour, or FILM but not CAST.
I thought about giving Étrangère 2 instead of Clones 2 as clue for SOLDIER and ALIEN (for want of German composites like "Fremdenlegion". Yet I thought it might be challenged as just being the French translation of ALIEN.

My other option for first clue would have been Fortune 3, linking LUCK, SMILE and SOLDIER.
