That's fair enough, for some reason I omitted to mention engines as an exception.
The player who saves his Hovel has just as much junk as you do until that first Province buy - then he has less.
I mean, there are a number of reasons why Hamlet is great. It's one of the best support cards for draw up to X and Menagerie engines. It can give +buy. It doesn't necessarily deplete a card from your hand if you don't want it to (e.g., you have enough actions and buys already). It self-synergizes in an odd way because it gives +buy and the card itself is so cheap, so you can get the +actions into your engine faster with Hamlet than with other villages. I still personally think it's a tad overrated, but there's no doubt that it plays a crucial role in many decks that most of the other $2 cards do not.
Native village is way too low.
Fool's gold, hamlet, and crossroads and pawn are too high.
I mean, why does anybody like hamlet anyway? It's like worker's village, but you have to discard 2 cards.
"Hey, I just bought you, and this is crazy,
But you're Nomad Camp, so top-deck maybe."
"Five Nomad Camps in hand collided so bad"
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me,
FIVE NOMAD CAMPS
Can we get a prod for ipofanes? I don't think he is playing anything else so he might not check the forums very often.
My wife would kill me if I played an online blitz game and not a real game with her.Sometimes I covet my neighbour's wife. My wife, after three games (and my assassination of her Napoleon), quipped that she doesn't need to play a game to try to make the best out of limited resources. (She does like Village and Terry Mystica, though.)
I'm thinking something like this http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/huis-en-inrichting/woonaccessoires-kisten/m631285583-houten-koffer.html?c=8c285449651fa109c354bbabe740c1b&previousPage=lr or this http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/antiek-en-kunst/curiosa-en-brocante/m626398744-houten-kist-koffer.html?c=8c285449651fa109c354bbabe740c1b&previousPage=lr or this http://www.marktplaats.nl/a/huis-en-inrichting/woonaccessoires-kisten/m630918743-grote-houten-koffer-koloniaals.html?c=8c285449651fa109c354bbabe740c1b&previousPage=lr would also be pretty sweet.

I'm guessing that the secret chamber at the bottom of the list says more about the players ranking the cards than the card itself. Not many people seem to play it well. Beggar seems quite strong too, particularly in multiplayer, and Vagrant is considerably stronger than pearl diver.
Vagrant, in a messy kingdom with looting and sans trashing, will be in the same league as Wishing Well.
So if the kingdom is just right it will be as good as a decidedly average card? That's not exactly a great advert...
Hastings have never been past the first round before, and quite frankly, the place is a shit hole that has very little going for it.
He could have just designed Dominion, moved on to the next game laughing and swimming in the money a la Scrooge McDuck.
Surprised that "Broke/Cheapskate and not that into Base Set Only or Begging" isn't an option! That is 95% my reason.
The other 5% is that I don't use Chrome or Firefox Betas, so it's laggy for me.
When should I buy? - cheap actions to trash, Rats
Inception Leo:
"I've been testing individual Dark Ages card in the base set. Band of Misfits is really strong; with both Village and Smithy in the kingdom, it becomes almost strictly superior to Laboratory."
"... And with $4, I buy the last Smithy."

The unique cost makes this pretty hard to judge, but the card looks hugely overpriced for at least 2-4 player games. In 2 player, it's a $4p which plays you possibly one card out of probably very little choice that was one that fits your opponent's strategy and not necessarily yours.
You say it should be fun to lose. Do I need to say "torturer"?
I still don't get why people hate Torturer so much. I hear all this talk about being "Torturer-pinned". How does this happen?
Bishop is usually not a great opening buy, but chapel obviously is. So I am confused - are you for orBaptism - Action, $2
against child baptism?
Name a card. If a card with that name would be trashed this game, instead, it goes to heaven.
ipofanes discards 2 Age II military cards.
ipofanes produces 4-2 food, 6 resources and 3 science, drawing 2 military cards.
