I like the idea behind all the cards. But hex's seem extremly controlling and can force really slog decks if there are more than one hex cards. However the only reason that there is more than one hex card is because the game is trying to put as many nocturne cards in there as possible. Only time will tell how controlling and random these will be in actual games. Most of them are weak attacks anyways. Also boons are only reliable with druid, otherwise you're playing off of luck, which is despised in a higher level environment.
As someone who doesn't have dominion online, I am interested to hear from those that do what their experience has been so far with the hexes. How swingy are they? Are they still fun to play with despite the added luck involved?

You don't need to "have" Dominion Online, just go on the website and play.
TIL.

My guess: one more state (1), one more alt victory (2), and one more spirit (10).

In moments like this, I really wish Donald would look at fan card threads once in a while.

Do not imagine that Donald X. didn't think of having a Silver interaction in Werewolf.

This is not about Werewolf. It's about the fact that fan cards have become incredibly good here on fds (not all, obviously). People exchange ideas with each other, inspire each other, learn the pitfalls others already fell into. I know for a fact that my cards, including my personal favs like Road, Werewolf, Necromancer and Sunken City, would suck a lot more if I didn't have the whole fan card sub forum to give me feedback and inspire me. By refusing to even so much as look at fan card threads, Donald X strips himself of the synergy effect we fan card designers enjoy.

Uhhhhhh Donald has a whole bunch of playtesters, including LastFootnote, who has a bit of experience with fan card making

Also there's the whole idea/copyright thing - content creators should not look at fan content, because then "who came up with the content" comes into question, and it's just a mess.

Okay, a challenge: Look through the fan card threads here and tell me there's not a single fan card that you feel you'd rather have had in the game than one specific official card. I doubt you'll be able to do that.

And it's not like I wasn't willing to freely give away any and all of my cards and many people here feel the same. Somehow, games like Smallworld have produced fan generated content en masse without any problem, so this legal reservation seems not at all convincing to me, especially if the ideas in question are offered for free.
No one is stopping anyone from playing with any of the fan cards, including your fan cards. We all know where to find them.

What is going on in the Envy art?
Asking the important questions. Seriously, I don't understand what I'm seeing.

Agreed. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. I'm sure we'll see something in the outtakes. I was really hoping we would get a day/night card and werewolf is perfect for that.

I assume Cursed Village is the same as Blessed Village, but it dishes out hexes instead of boons. If so, games with both blessed villages and cursed villages are going to be great.

This is one of the most thematic cards yet. Everything shown so far just seems like a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to this set more than any other set before I think.

I look forward to playing with this one.

It's been said, but I think this card is going to be very good with most sifters and a crucial engine component. Its an easy choice for a discard and it increases hand size the next turn. Multiple FH paired with multiple Warehouses has the chance to be really powerful.

Den of Sin is very sexual and doesn't really fit with the theme.

I don't know, sex is often coupled (hehe) with the occult and ritual magic.  I think it works pretty well, given the context.

I think Den of Sin fits rather well with the theme. Besides images of the "Icon of Sin" from Doom 2, it reminded me of the "Louviers Possessions":

Also, I can understand Den of Sin referring to gambling. Gambling dens are thing I think.

I feel dumb for trying "cursed idol" but not "idol" by itself.
You're not alone. I tried Cursed Idol as well. That was an outtake.

Conclave = Alt VP? ;)
I bet Sacred Grove is an Alt-VP.

Took a quick look through the Dominion Outakes. I found a hidden gem.

Den of Sin.
Resourceful.

Interestingly, Pixie Dust was an old outtake. Raider is also an outtake and a name of one of the new cards. I'm sad Berserker isn't a new card.

On one hand, I am excited about the release of a new expansion. On the other hand, the more than two month wait is going to kill me. I am too hyped.

Not that it makes much sense to discuss a topic with a rude guy
That, I think, is painfully obvious.
Feel free to point out where I was as rude to Donald as he was to me.
This is embarrassing.

You know, I have had some similar internet arguments like this years ago where I was obnoxious and wrong, and occasionally to this day I just ask myself: why.
I am happily interested in discussing the numerous forms game complexity. Which is all I actually did here. If some game designer cannot stand that I view "rule complexity", as opposed to rule difficulty, as a nonsensical term, so be it.
Poe's law in full force. Perhaps I'm just oblivious, but I can't tell if this is trolling or not.

I finally received my copy of the second editions and the new promo. Looking forward to playing with the new cards tonight. I think the most underrated aspect of the new cards, other than the improved wording for all the cards, is the improved card art for a few of the cards, such as Moat, Torturer, masquerade, and ironworks.

I haven't gotten the sets yet. Is the trash mat bigger than tavern mats?
Yes. You can see both the tavern mat and trash mat in the last picture from werothegreats post above.

Has anyone else noticed that there is both the palace(or a castle not sure witch) and the bridge are in the base cover art.
I'm not seeing the Witch.

It's not a fun feeling to look at a board and think "welp, looks like this is only a 7-card kingdom this game" because three shitty cards were thrown in.

Unless the remaining 7 cards make for an interesting game.
Agreed. I can't count how many times I've said to myself, I'm glad Scout is in this kingdom instead of a potentially useful card.

For clarification, Jay stated that he hopes to have the rules posted today. Sounds like it's contingent on certain issues with the RGG website being resolved.

Does anybody know which card shaped things are still coming?

I'm pretty sure we haven't seen expedition yet, not sure about the others
I think Expedition, Haven, and Wharf. Not sure what else.

#36 - Ill-gotten Gains

This is another fabulous example of art representing an abstract concept. My girls thought it looked like a bunch of foaming insulation coming up under the raven. I love the speared skull.
Best art in the game.
