I was right.
3 is a little more than 2.+Buy is important, but it's not the sort of thing you want lots of copies of (usually). That's why it's ok at a lower price.Well, I think we'd all expect it to be lower. But 3 lower? Usually it seems to be 2, or a little more than 2.
Alright, next card and another "better than X" card, this time Remodel.BUTCHER
The mechanic seems interesting. Like some already pointed out, this is a great endgame accelerator and probably its main use beside the usual remodeling stuff. But remodeling Estates into Silvers and saving some coins for buying when you need them or expanding cards seems also pretty good. We have to wait and see how many other Coin token generators will be there or if there is even other use for them, but this seems strong already as-is. Because what's great is that you don't even need to trash and can just use it as a terminal silver.
I mean a card "Choose one: +2$ or remodel a card" would already be worth $5 for me and Butcher is even more flexible. The competition is tough in the $5 price range. Not many cards you could compare it to. It's clearly better than Graverobber and Mine, but clearly not stronger than all the strong attacks or other power $5s, maybe about slightly above average.
The artwork seems strange again and why is it called Butcher and not a verb like all the cards from the remodel family? Disappointed! Call it at least Builder or Restorer or some job who fits the theme not a guy who kinda does the opposite.
I kind of want TX to be Taxidermist, but I have no idea what sort of text you'd give that card.Stuff yourself with 5 gold coins.
Granted, Journeyman is nowhere to be found and some of the acronyms are a bit odd (what could TX stand for?), the pattern seems to mostly hold up.Tax Collector
I like that idea. Gives you a chance to catch up if the supply of Provinces/Duchies may be running low.The obvious Victory card for Guilds would be one worth more the more coin tokens you have. I wonder if there will be one. If there is it has to be multiclassed so it can be used to get some coin tokens so as to not be pointless in many games.
False! It can have some other way of getting you coin tokens. We know that there are cards that give you something when overpaying for it. I think that's it! A Victory card worth more the more coin tokens you have, that gets you coin tokens when overpaying for it!
That can lead to interesting situations in several ways. If you can amass lots of $$$ but there is no extra buy maybe you should ignore Provinces and pump these up to the sky? Sometimes you would ignore the Victory part. Just buy them to get the coin tokens and then trash them for benefit later.
My first thought:Your first thought or mine?
So what is the past-tense of "fickle"?I've totally snuck Canadian dimes and quarters into coin rolls to give to the bank before.
Also, why is the internet not recognizing "snuck" as a word? It's the past participle of "sneak"...

I thought it was snuck too, but apparently that's new-fangled and wrong!
(Also, sorry for derailing the thread with money talks.)
I guess we're all so used to swim/swum and sing/sung. We should extrapolate this and have tweak/twuck and cheat/chut.
