We'll flip a 2 blue (Hovel side up)

27
Necro still has 4 powers remaining, right?

28
Why couldn't you have done these 4 years ago when I lived in Ohio!

29
AHoppy, when you update, can you make sure to also update our coin supplies?

We'll have to think about whether we want to use our power.

30
Place the 1 in D5; Place the 3 in D4

I'll be streaming my match vs. DG Thursday at 21:00 UTC (that's 4pm EST in the US, which I add so that if I'm wrong, someone will correct me and I'll show up at the right time).

32
No power

Hovel Turn 1: Move D4->D5, Place 2->D3

(Using grid coordinates from the spreadsheet)

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

My beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeebrah

If my calculations are correct, this post will get many upvotes and I will feel dirty.

Upvoted for the "brah" at the end.  Not so much for the copious middle.

35
For the place 1 and move, or capture and move, so the actions have to occur in that order, or could you move and then place?

36
Who goes first?  Is that also decided by our sponsors at Random.org?  And if it's allowed, I would encourage my worthy opponents to use one of your coin flips controls on that first decision.  I've analyzed the game entirely, and it's clearly a guaranteed win for whoever goes first.  Ignore the coin flip luck, that's irrelevant.  After all, YMYOCL-You Make Your Own Coin Luck.  Trust me.

I voted the interface issues, because I personally haven't had problems running the program.  That said, I think the biggest problem (from MF's perspective) and the things they should work on is the fact that some (many?) people can't play at all.

I chose 1, but the caveat there for me is that I wouldn't expect to post more often there than elsewhere, which would mean fairly minimal contributions from me.  But ultimately, I'm here for the dominion strategy, so while I enjoy chuckling at the occasional moat joke, and while I have come to greatly appreciate the wide community here, I like the idea of more focused dominion discussion.  And I'm not sure I buy any of the down sides (worst case scenario in my eyes: basically nobody posts in the "more serious" section, which is really no different from now where nobody posts in it because it doesn't exist).

Wait, my iso rating is actually negative (with a grand total of 8 games played) since I exclusively play bots. It doesn't bother me that my lists doesn't matter a fly's fart, but if you are using a weighted mean by the absolute iso ratings then my list is being considered upside down! ;D (or is it?)

I would find this hilarious.  Chancellor 40 spots above masquerade!  I doubt this is what's happening.  But it would be fantastic.

Great hall I ranked 34th, it's 42nd here

A very small difference, but wow, how can people put Great Hall below some of these cards? Tunnel? Better than Great Hall? No way man. Most of these cards have such a high opportunity cost, and Great Hall is at least a cantrip. Cantrips got a lot better IMO with the last two expansions: Advisor, Herald, any token card, they all love cantrips. Why the hate here?

I will freely admit to not considering how great hall gets better with advisor and herald (and I've never played with adventures and their tokens, and didn't ranking them or consider them in ranking other cards).  For me, tunnel ended up higher than great hall largely because it does occasionally work well in the midgame, and in the end game 2vp is 2vp.  I don't think I've ever bought great hall except as a small consolation for a dud turn in the midgame, or as a slightly better estate in the endgame.  Maybe I should get it more.  But I have yet to play a game where at the beginning I have to sit up and say "Hey-great hall is here.  Let me revise the strategy I've been considering."  Tunnel can at least make me pause and think (discard+trash for benefit), even if the strategy is ultimately not that strong.

Of course, I'm splitting hairs here: I ranked great hall last, and tunnel 3rd to last (their effort to be adjacent thwarted only by chancellor).

Other Games / Re: Bridge
« on: November 08, 2015, 10:31:27 pm »
I'm a big bridge fan, but I rarely play it.  Because I'm in a sort of hole without good acbl coverage.  There are basically no nearby evening games, and I can't play during the day when all the little old ladies play.  I keep planning to head to nearby sectionals and regionals, but I haven't been able to make it happen.

Develop is near the bottom because it is hard to utilize. The more skill you have, the more you can utilize it, and the higher you would probably rate it.

I think this is a big part of it.  Develop was fairly low for me (though not bottom quarter) as a compromise between how good the card is for me (i.e. not very-I have no idea when and how to use it) and how good it is for the truly elite players.

On that note, someone should tell me how and when to use develop!

Time for the notification:  mpsprs will be playing 2 games.

Goko Dominion Online / Re: Time Out Timer for Online Dominion
« on: November 02, 2015, 09:18:04 am »
I think wero's suggestion may be the best practical suggestion.  There should be an option to turn it off entirely though (even though I play fairly quickly, I would not want me or my opponents to feel rushed in a league match).

A timer for max amount of time for the whole game seems completely inappropriate to me.  I've played games that lasted 45 minutes before, and it did not feel like either player was taking an undue amount of time.

A more complicated question:  Not all grids are uniquely determined by the patterns observed by shooting lasers.  What are the rules for situations like that?

I just tried one game now (successfully matched against someone ranked more that 1000 points above me), and had no performance issues.  But I haven't had any of the performance issues that others have had before either, so ... who knows.

I spoke too soon.  Just started a game.  Played 4 copper, no button showed up for me to buy my Sea Hag (though I could click on a few things).  Tried to buy a silver.  Silver went to my deck, and then the game hung.

PPE:  Very similar to blueblimp's experience.
