Inspired by WW's Oscar the Grouch thread (and me finding out I actually got this one!)

As I see it, its mostly done with Ironworks and Workshops, but lets see some more interesting ones.

Here's mine, its 7 Remakes in a IGG game:

Night Guard
$4 Action - Duration
Choose two: +1 Action, +1 Card, +1$, +1 Buy.
On the start of the next turn, get the other 2 bonuses.

(this was to be my submition to rinkworks' challenge, but I deemed it too wonky to implement in real game. Submited something else entirely)

Village variant.

Suburbs

Play two Action cards from your hand.

I also though of lowering one of those two effect to 1 card.

General Discussion / Dominion avatars!
« on: June 01, 2012, 07:46:10 pm »
Note: these have been uploaded to the forum avatar gallery, and you can find them there.

Hope this is the right forum.
Saw there was some hype about avatars in Mafia and so I made a script that made avatars of all dominion cards (forum sized and all)!
Not all are perfectly aligned, but hey, not bad for 5 mins of work.

here they are:

Edit:
Made them clearer, most don't have ugly border anymore.

Dominion General Discussion / Meanest thing in Dominion
« on: May 31, 2012, 03:07:07 pm »
So, what do you think?

Though there is tough competition, Ghost Ship lock is, i think, the meanest. Not because its most devastating (Msq pin is) but because it actually give your opponent a sign of hope ("Ok, with this hand I can do something, so if he had a bad draw and..") and than you just play another.  ;D

Chapel, Crossroads
Swindler, Menagerie
-
Governor, Mountebank, Wharf, Horn of Plenty, Haggler
Grand Market

I was pretty stumped the when I saw this? What the hell to get? What is the fastest here?

I was first player, opened 4/3 (my opponent as well).
My thoughts were following (in italic are hindsight thoughts that came after the game or too late into the game):

Governor is generally strong, felt even stronger with Chapel and me being first (Also there were not 4$ or 7$ for my opponent to trash). But then...

Wharf is great as well, with no engine in sight I wasn't sure how fast I can transition from Chapeled deck to Wharf-BM, it seemed Chapelless Wharf was way to go if I decide to go there.
And now I realize Governor (yours or even better opponent's) would speed you up if you were to go Chapel/Wharf/BM

My thought on Mountebank were - if I Chapel down and get him played few turns in a row, I'm golden. A Chapel is not a great way to deal with loads of curses, I've heard.

Grandmarket - While Haggler-GM is cute, I still fear this card because my feeling is (councilroom confirmed it) that this is one of my worst cards. I never know when to take it and when not to. I always fall for GMTrap. So wasn't going to put my faiths there.

Swindler seemed like just another dead terminal which will collide (esp. if I go Chapel), didn't think I can branch enough for Menagerie/HOP to work. XRoads are fine when I go green.

After a minute of silence, my plan was open Silver/Chapel, trash down ASAP, get Mountebank very early and spam him. Later, buy
Province -> GM -> Silver -> XRoads (if green), in that order. My opponent opened Swindler/Chapel, didn't trash as aggressive as I did, went for Wharf, Menageries (which kinda looks counter-intuitive to me) and Swindlers.
---------------

I trashed him 7-0 in Provinces. Obviously my strategy was a dominant and strong one, but was it the strongest? Would Governors (which weren't bought a single time) be more powerful? Heavier GMs? Wharfs?

Dominion General Discussion / Mandarin Openings
« on: May 18, 2012, 10:05:36 am »
Is it just me still being noob and overrating this card, but Mandarin 5/5 opening somehow seem so awesome to me.

I just had a Mandarin/Hunting Party opening, with 1 Mand, 1 Sil and 1 Gold and only 3 HPs I was getting Province every turn. My opponent went Alchs though, so that did help a bit, but it was very fast nonetheless.  I hit 4 Prov 12th (maybe even 11th?) turn. Closed the game so can't get the log now.

Introductions / Might as well introduce myself..
« on: May 04, 2012, 01:16:10 pm »
Hi! ;)
Coming from Serbia, been playing Dominion for quite some time with many big pauses though. Though starting this year I got REALLY hooked.
Studying Software Engineering, my hobbies are mainly Comics and Tabletop Gaming (RPGs and Boardgames). Others come on go occasionally.
I play mainly on Iso, though IRL games happen sometimes (IRL I usually prefer bigger, longer games with more players - my absolute favs are Battlestar and a Game of Thrones). Though I recently heard there is a semi-regular dominion tournament in a nearby town, will have to check that one out :)

Lets see.. Favorite dominion cards, currently:
Monument
Horse Traders
Bishop
Embassy
IGG

So, just played a game, i bought
1 Gold, 2 Silvers, 1 Herbalist and as many HPs as I could (Herb's +buy helped actually).

So, I play my HPs, play my Herb, get to 8 (8+), buy I province..
and what do I topdeck?
Gold? or Copper to prevent early collisions? or.. nothing as getting HPs in first hand is more important or..?
I just can't get my mind to understand HP completely (I just buy Gold/Silv/Terminal and spam HP, + trying not to force a dead hand next turn).

Help.  ;D
