Disadvantages:
Scum, at least from a single-scum-team perspective, generally will know who is telling the truth about their numbers. And as we don't know what their PR's are, or how they interact/play off that knowledge, we cannot know to what benefit they may be able to use this knowledge. Maybe they gain little, maybe they gain lots. Claiming would be a roll of the dice.

Ash's warning about the importance of flavor names combined with something in my own role description make me think that the Espheni faction probably has some sort of ability which makes it particularly useful for them to know player's flavor names. I would not roll these dice, at least not until We have a little more info.

It occurs to me that there might potentially be some confusion between "Masons" as in the mafia role and "Masons" as in the last name of several characters on this show.

Assuming Ash didn't decide to be cute and make the Masons masons, that is.

If pubby is scum I highly doubt he tries something like this without running it by his scumbuddies on Night zero. Given the general level of experience in this game, chances are pretty good there's at least one experienced scum player in that QT who would have said "that's clumsy and it'll backfire."

But maybe not, who knows.

Vote: Space, I haven't seen a case as good as this one all game.

I see what you did there.

It wasn't a joke, by the way, I was almost going to vote for space when I saw ADK doing so.

Oh, I thought you were saying "I haven't seen a case this good all game" referring to a nonexistent case, as if to say "All the cases that have been made all game are bad."

Pubby has read the information in his QT, realized that some players are "allies", whatever that means, and obviously has reason to believe that making these players aware that he is also an ally is beneficial to his win condition.

It's easier for me to envision a scenario where town or third-party pubby does this than a scenario where scum!pubby does this, but I don't have enough information yet to rule anything out. If pubby is town, I trust him to have weighed the potential usefulness of scum knowing this vs. the potential usefulness of the relevant town player knowing this and judged the claim to be worth it.

If pubby is scum, who knows some town players are allies and wants to draw them out, I think he would have approached it differently. He doesn't seem to me to be pushing for a claim.

I don't see a huge amount of value in speculating about this beyond how it affects our reads of pubby.

Hi. I didnít know this started.

My gut is to say the number claiming is bad. It doesnít really limit what scum can fake claim later, since the numbers are somewhat subjective- thereís a lot of wiggle room. And it could turn town players with high numbers into easy mislynch targets.

Iíd need a better case for the utility of this info before I post my number.

:(

I know, right? But until we can can play as teams, its not so good for us to play together. But this game will be awesome!  I am quite certain of it!

I believe there was an experiment like that in the beginning days of the forum. People made new accounts that combined their screennames. It was goofy.

Yes, 2-headed giant mafia. I believe that was, weirdly, my first time as scum.

Iím working on a semi open setup sort of like jothís DS9 mafia, in that the flavor names are not connected to alignment (Itís agents of SHIELD based, so anyone could be a HYDRA infiltrator.) I want to add a wrinkle where all of the abilities/ shots/ powers people have at the beginning of the game are public information, but some characters have additional abilities which will be triggered only if certain events happen. True role madness, as it were.

Does anybody else here watch Agents of SHIELD?

Honestly, as much as I would like my first MVP, I think joth deserves it over me. He actually did turn the game around. Most of our POE was enabled by that e lynch. And that was the hardest one because we had so many more options. Iím proud of day 5, but joth laid the groundwork for that.

Also I was on all of the mislynch wagons. I read silverspawn completely wrong, and I hammered mcmcsalot when I *knew* he wasnít scum. And I wasted my watcher shot (though reading the scum QT, I was pretty close - they almost did shoot Swan.)

I am conflicted about this game. This is the first time Iíve ever survived until the end of a game, other than that 2d3 on lynchpool, and until ash threw in the towel I was actually pretty proud of how I handled myself. I understand the scum teamís perspective and I do feel bad for them, but not knowing for sure what would happen and knowing the third party could essentially change their mind and decide to kill us at any point, I feel like I actually played one of the best town games Iíve ever played. My only real mistake was hammering mcmcsalot. But that is the mistake that would have lost us the game if DatSwan has gone for the kill.

I was also seriously considering fake-claiming traitor in order to draw out scum day 3. In the end I just didnít have the balls.

I really really really think the scum is ash though. Everything I said yesterday about EFHW and DatSwan being town is still true.

Really? If the survivor wanted to win with scum they could have done it days ago. They claim it lowers our lynch choices to 2 (since Iím pretty sure it makes me an actual IC.)

Whichever one of you is the survivor should claim now I guess.

I am very surprised to be alive.

Itís got to be ash, right? But why would ash kill pubby? Heís the only other person who he could have conceivably convinced us to lynch.

If you and I are town, and EFHW is town, the scum team is either pps/ash, pubby/ash, or pubby/pps. So all we have to do is rule out pubby/ash and we can safely lynch pps. We can worry about his partner tomorrow when we have more time.

Well, pubby started the day voting for ash. So either mafia didn't select the mafia knows traitor option, or the team isn't ash/pubby. Maybe scum!pubby votes his partner to sow confusion, but I don't think so because it paints him into a corner, especially since pubby's meta is tunneling and sticking to his guns.

Given that pubby came right into today wanting to lynch ash, I really think pps is the best lynch. I know this is kind of a house of cards, but its the best I've got.

Or it is Pubby/EFHW or Pubby/PPS

I am worried about pubby/EFHW. But I don't think scum!EFHW votes for e when she did. Her vote took the wagons from pps 3, e 3 to pps 2, e 4. That's not just a bus, that's locking in the lynch. If pps is town there and EFHW is town, the pps lynch wins them the game. I really don't see scum EFHW bussing in that scenario. Do you? What's the logic?
