Never really got into it. But Warhammer is quite the institution.
Not any more it's not...

Just got an email from MF offering free in-game currency in some other shitty game of theirs.  Guess I won't miss that?
Oof, yeah.  The ridiculously scuzzy in-game currency purchases that never quite lined up with the costs of the packs in said currency.

Will the stream be archived?  I wanna see the new shiny but I'm out at a comedy show at that time :(

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Ranking of the Average Card
« on: October 24, 2016, 04:38:38 am »
I don't believe the Bell Curve is the best way to look at things in Dominion.

As for an average card, I would consider something like conspirator the definition of average.
You... know that it's called a bell curve because it's shaped like a bell, right?  It's not named after anyone...

For my money, these are difficult cards to rate because their utility really depends on the kingdom.  Market Square, for instance, is mostly not that amazing, except when it has a bunch of synergy (Hermit, maybe Bishop, Apprentice, other TFB generally) at which point it's absolutely dominant.  How do you rate that?

I've created and hosted the best bragging contest there ever was.
And I won it, by saying only a SINGLE WORD.

General Discussion / Re: Fun Recipes

Take equal weights of margarine, granulated sugar, eggs and self raising flour (I usually use 8oz (200g I think, ask google for unit conversions) of each and 4 large eggs, but the recipe scales linearly).

Beat the margarine and sugar together, then add the eggs and beat together, then the flour and beat together.  Also add cocoa powder at this point if you want, I usually use about 3 to 4 ounces, but I do it by eye.

Separate into two 8-inch round tins and bake for around 25 minutes at 160c until the cake springs back when you press on the top gently.

For the icing, take about 10 ounces of butter, let it soften, add about 5 ounces of icing sugar, and a dash of boiling water (about 15ml is usually enough) and cocoa powder if desired (I usually seive them in but it's by no means essential), then beat together until smooth, adding more water if you want it to be less stiff.

Put the icing between the two cakes and on top.

Cake baking is a science.  I've baked this recipe hundreds if not thousands of times, it's good and simple and easy to remember.

I suspect he (and we) would be far better off chucking this money at nuclear fusion research.

I know, right?  Sadly, you can put a price tag on food and shelter.

At least you can put a price tag on Shelter. It costs $1. Not so sure about food though.
Rats cost 4 ;)

1. Baker/Borrow/Inherit Ironworks
2. EEEC; play Estate 3 times gaining Estate; buy Donate, trashing all but EEEEEE
3. EEEEE; Deck=E; E(Rats), E(Magpie), E(E), E(E), E(E), autopile Magpie, E(E), E(E), autopile Rats

Aw man, turn 3 is just too slow.

EDIT: The order of doing stuff depends a little on the shuffle, but you should be able to do it anyway since everything you have is a cantrip.
Well, I was gonna say Rats/Fortress/Upgrade but I'm pretty sure that can't do game end in 3 turns...

the problem is that none of this works when you have to leave for work or some other commitment

sometimes i just wanna get one game in before i have to get ready, and all too often that happens to be against an asshole who does this when i have no way to fight it.  they can't hold that L like an adult so i end up having to take it instead because MAKING FUN IS GOOD AT DESIGN YALL

fuck, i can't wait for 2017..............
Who says you can't play at work?

Do you play the X Wing miniatures game?

Which is your favourite faction and is Soontir Fel your bro?

No.

I used to know that guy, then Disney decided they all don't exist. Now I don't even remember him. Who is he again?

I actually think he was re-installed in the canon.
Not quite yet, but there's been a bloodstriped interceptor featured in the Rebels season 3 trailer...

Great news, I am super pumped and will gladly throw $3 (or however much) a month at a subscription online Dominion service that's actually reliable and run by people who understand security and are good at their work.

Really pleased to hear this!

On another note, do we know anything about whether this will be on mobile platforms yet?  Playing some Dominion on my droid over lunch would be wicked.

Goko Dominion Online / Re: Is an "Undo" button feasible?
« on: February 24, 2016, 04:47:14 am »
Iso let you undo certain things but I can't remember exactly what.
Iso (by the very end) let you undo anythign that didn't reveal hidden information, which is the ideal in a game like this for me.  There's no particular reason why you shouldn't be able to freely undo back to the last point you revealed something new.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: Madman megaturns
« on: February 03, 2016, 07:39:15 am »
Wharf I think can be a pretty solid Madman enabler, because it gets you bigger starting hands, and the buys to make use of your whole deck's worth of treasures and actions.  I'd not tried it all that often, though.

Goko Dominion Online / Re: No card stacking for Scheme
« on: January 11, 2016, 03:57:55 am »
And because there are a few cases where a Duration played this turn *does* get discarded this turn - e.g. Tactician if you discard no cards, Gear if you set no cards aside, etc.
Surely the point is that Scheme should only be considering the subset of 'cards being discarded' - it shouldn't even touch 'cards that are in play' (or for that matter, cards that you have chosen to set aside) *regardless* of why they're remaining there.

It's not that it shouldn't consider duration cards, it's that it should only consider cards being discarded.

You should be more concerned about using correct capitalisation, spacing, and paragraph breaks.

Pretty sure Chewie says something and Han responds, increduously, "You're cold?!"
Precisely so.

One good enabler I haven't seen listed here is Storeroom + Duchy/Duke.  Duchy/Duke decks typically struggle from getting overwhelmed with green cards.  With Storeroom (assuming no hand-size attacks), as long as you have a Silver in the other 4 cards in your hand or in your top 4 cards, you are guaranteed a 5-cost card.  So Storeroom continues to grab 5-cost cards even with a very low money density.
Also keeps yourmoney density up when you spends its extra buys on copper.

It's very similar to Horse Traders/Duke in that respect, except Horse Traders/Duke is a bit more resilient to discard attacks.

I'm more bothered by how a small explosion destroys a planet.
It's not so much a small explosion destroying a planet as a small explosion destroying the containment device that was holding the entire power of the local star WITHIN the planet.  Which seems a little more reasonable.
