My Guess:

She chooses IGG as her free card from BV giving a curse to her opponents.  But unfortunately for Sarah the curse helps her opponent as her opponent is playing a Fairgrounds deck.  The curse gives her opponent another different card thus having 15 different cards instead of 14 and giving her opponent 2 additional VP for each fairgrounds in her opponents deck.

People still use IE?

At the very least, upgrade to IE9.

Haven't had a reason to upgrade 'til now ;)

If neither player lost their most recent game, or both had lost, then it returns to a coinflip.

I'm not positive about this.  My impression was that if both players had been playing several games, that the P1 slot was given to whichever player had most recently lost.  In other words, if you and I have each played four games, and I went LWWW, but you went WLWW, then you're going first.

IE8 for me the "return" doesn't work, so I've been using "exit".

Also when you first enter the lobby you are placed into the winner's pool.

That must be it!  I just noticed I always hit exit after a game instead of "return".  So I'm always re-logging in after every game.

Glad I submited this post and thanks for the response.

Dominion Isotropic / Unlucky seating position?
« on: January 10, 2012, 04:14:48 pm »
I was looking at my stats and noticed I get seated in the 2nd table position in a 2 player game at least 68% of the time.

2 player games played: 633
Total 2 player games played in table position 1:  208

And the 208 includes my multiplayer games which would be about 35 of them would be table seat 1 if split evenly.

I'm I missing something or I'm I just getting unlucky seat draws in 2 player games?  68% seems a bit far away from the expected 50% split.

Thanks,

4 Card Solution:
Throne Room (TR), King's Court (KC), Noble Brigand (NB), Grand Market (GM

TR the KC.  Play NB 3 times gaining 3 gold (lucky).  Play GM 3 times drawing the 3 golds into hand.

NB = $3
GM = $6
Gold = $9

3 Provinces with $18?

Ug.  Was thinking $6 instead of $8. :(

TR-KC-IW-Tribute
IW gains 3xbridges
Tribute discards 3x (Harem,Copper)
play three bridges

replacing IW with University would work, too

I don't think this one works.

So you gain the 3 bridges with IW or University...

But you need need to draw them into your hand and then have the actions to play them.

So from your tribute you'll need to gain +3 Actions and +3 cards to play the bridges.

Best I can figure is you have $4 from Tribute and $3 from Bridges with Provinces costing $5.

Unless I'm not seeing something correctly.
Harem is a dualtype (Treasure - Victory), if you reveal it with Tribute, you get both the $2 and the 2 cards. You might have wondered why Harem was used instead of any other Treasure card and this is why.

The KC'd Tributes net $12 and with 3 Bridges you get to $15, enough for 3 Provinces worth $5 each.

Nice! Thanks for explanation. Forgot about dual types And you get the +Actions from IW which I also missed.

This gives you enough card draw, but because the caravans and tactician stay out, in play, and not in your deck, you don't have enough cards in your deck to make this work

I knew I was missing something :)  Thanks.

You have 13 cards in your hand before you played any action this turn. Only 5 cards has been bought/gained until this turn. What are these 5 cards?

I was looking at 3 Caravan's and 1 Tactician.  But this is only 4 cards, so the 5th card could have been anything in my solution.

Hi,

I noticed in a 3p game a tied match between Brian_The_Adequate and myself is scored as a loss in the stats.

Recently discovered playing a golem with trade routes after someone played a ghostship can leave you with no cards in your hand.  Happened to me and one other player.  Played a Golem after someone played a ghostship and drew two Trade Routes trashing the remaining two cards in my hand.

Council Room Feedback / Don't Change Nickname
« on: December 06, 2011, 03:57:29 pm »
I changed my nickname yesterday for a game and then changed it back.  Decided to look up the name I had changed it to and looks like I changed it to a nickname that had already played 21 games.

Makes me wonder if my existing nickname had any previous games played before I discovered councilroom.com.  Don't remember when I first started playing online.

I'm guessing there's nothing that can be done with this since the logs only have the nickname's and not e-mail addresses.

More of a comment/warning then anything else.

Yeah not a bug.  Guess the Seaside rules even specificly says that the cards gets trashed if played alone.

Well there's no way to play a treasure map without trashing it. The card text says "trash this card" as part of the play rules.

Hmmm.  That probably means when I was playing Treasure Map by itself it was getting trashed.  Hmm I'll have to look at the logs tomorrow when the stats are updated.

I guess that would make sense that if I play it by itself it should be trashed.  Ah well. :)  Thanks for replying.

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but looks like there's a bug with Scheme and Treasure Map.  Scheme doesn't allow me to put an un-trashed but played Treasure Map back on top of my deck :(

Thanks,

I don't like the 30 day look-back.  Seems to "Swingy" and confusing on how/why rating change from day to day without playing.  And the fact that good players will start at a noob level if they haven't played for 30 days would make the data useless to me.

If it were based on say a 300 game look back or something like that, I'd be fine with it.

Probably you need more than 4? Otherwise, there would be lots of otp for "bought no other action than  1-4 JoaT/Wharfs/Militia/Envoy/Smithy/CR/..."

:e I have only one one trick pony, and I'm sure I have played some BM-Xs.

Yeah that would make sense.  Looks like it requires 7 based on a post on uservoice.

Thanks for the reply.

Hi,

Looks like I should have gotten a "One Trick Pony" for this game for buying only Caravan as my only action card:
