The only episode I've seen was Nosedive. It did not make me want to see more episodes.

I think my favorite think about Nosedive was President Allison Taylor's cameo.

Okay, I've seen them all. Black Mirror episodes, ranked:

19) The National Anthem
18) White Bear
17) Playtest
16) Men Against Fire
15) Arkangel
14) Metalhead
13) Be Right Back
12) Shut Up and Dance
11) The Waldo Moment
10) Black Museum
9) Nosedive
8.) Million Merits
7) The Entire History of You
6) White Christmas
5) Crocodile
4) Hated In The Nation
3) San Junipero
2) Hang the DJ
1) USS Callister

Reading reviews online, it seems I liked Crocodile quite a bit better than other people. Also, I don't know what it says about me that my three favorites are three of the only ones with broadly "happy" endings.

I liked that Black Museum added a potential "shared universe" element to many of the stories, perhaps even all of them... although I think that comic book might be suggesting 15 Million Merits is fictional, even within the Black Mirror universe. Which makes sense, since it's definitely the one that fits with the others the least.

Several had premises I thought were fascinating, but then went in boring or predictable directions: Arkangel and The Entire History of You are probably the most egregious offenders.

I just watched San Junipero and Hated in the Nation. Those were pretty good episodes.

I would say that I buy Curse in the majority of games where I buy Ambassador.

Governor is great. Why do people even complain about Governor? They can't all be the most straightforward $5 card ever.

I would like to join.

I am technically re-joining the league, because I did play a season, but it was so long ago I don't remember which one it was.

I like that Skulk comes with a Gold. Having a Gold in your deck makes up for the lack of +coin provided by Skulk.

Where have you been, man? Golds are basically curses, with occasional utility as tfb fuel.

What can I say, Iím old school. I was not buying Scouts before you were born, son.

The Hexes are more hurtful than the Boons are beneficial, though. Or at least it seems that way to me.
Yes, but the Hex-dealers suck (apart from Vampire), and the Boon-givers are all kinda good.

Skulk seems good enough.

Unrelated, Moldugas are awesome.

In fact, I am glad I left the Gerudo region for last. The whole thing is fantastic, and I wish other regions had received the amount of attention that one has. Gerudo town in particular oozes charm.

No Gerudo valley theme, alas...

Lack of Gerudo valley theme really killed it for me, sadly. I think the Rito village is my favorite village-ish area, but they don't give you nearly enough reasons to keep coming back to it.

I got the bike!

I agree the new Shrines were of much higher caliber, as was the new dungeon and boss fight.

Incidentally I had never played a Zelda game previously, and loved BotW.  I love Kakariko Village.  I would totally live there.

And yet the game only lets you buy property in Hateno Village, sigh.

The Zelda location I would most want to live in is probably Skyloft from Skyward Sword, though.

The wife and I just started watching Electric Dreams, which is available on Amazon. I'm surprised it hasn't attracted more attention; it's an anthology series (like Black Mirror) based on Philip K. Dick stories. It's exceptionally good, and features an all-star cast in each self-contained episode: Bryan Cranston, Steve Buscemi, Liam Cunningham, Anna Paquin, Maura Tierney, Greg Kinnear, and others all appear.

My thoughts on Star Wars, which I just saw. Not gonna spoiler tag it. Don't read this thread yet if you haven't seen it!

*************

I had low expectations going in, because everybody I know seemed to either hate it or at least have mixed feelings. Maybe the low expectations worked to the film's benefit. I liked it quite a bit! I'm tempted to say that it is the least flawed Star Wars film ever.

The highlight of the film was the relationship and interplay between Rey and Kylo and Luke. Rey and Kylo have genuine chemistry, and I very much enjoyed Luke's complicated relationship with both of them. His showdown with Kylo was good; Rey and Kylo taking down Snoke's guards was probably the best scene. Kylo stepping in to main antagonist territory was a welcome change of pace.

Leia was well used. Loved her use of the Force. Space combat remained enthralling: particularly the opening sequence / bombing of the dreadnought. Lots of terrific visuals: the ship tearing through the other ship, the representation of the Dark Side as a seaside pit, the red salt sequence.

The movie gets +1000 points for not employing a Death Star ex machina.

Less good was the Finn/Rose (is that her name? I don't even care) storyline. The casino detour was worse than pointless. I like the idea of the "inspiring the kids to #resist" but it just wasn't executed very well. Quite cheesy and generic.

The failure to explain Snoke whatsoever was glaring. They should have just made him the partly resurrected corpse of Darth Plagueis, betrayed once again by a more powerful apprentice. Rian Johnson said in an interview that he felt he didn't have time to do that, but okay, use your time more smartly (i.e., cut the casino subplot and do something else with Finn).

So yeah, I liked it a lot. I thought Leia and Luke both had a lot of great, respectful moments that made sense, but the movie didn't lean on them more than it needed to. Major props to Daisy Ridley, and also to Adam Driver for finally delivering the menacing, complicated, well-acted antagonist the Star Wars saga deserves.

Oh, the porgies. The porgies were fine, why do people even complain about the porgies? They can't all be the most essential cuddly little characters ever. (The Jedi nun aliens were genuinely hilarious.)

I really like the Werewolf art (for the official card). That dude's chill right now, but you know he's gonna start some trouble when night falls.

Actually, all the art for this batch of promos is pretty great.

Dominion: Nocturne Previews / Re: Previews #2: Shepherd, Pooka, Cemetery
« on: October 24, 2017, 10:35:28 pm »
Shepherd would combo really well with some way to get Victory cards into your hand.  Like imagine if there was some kind of non-terminal Action that would sift through the top of your deck and draw all the Victory cards into your hand - a sort of reconnoiterer, if you will.  Shepherd would definitely combo with that.

Meh, I don't really see it.
