Double Witch is a powerful BM strategy because Witch is sufficiently powerful, Double Jack is a powerful BM strategy, because Jack is sufficiently powerful, and Double Margrave is a powerful BM strategy, for the same reason.  I've heard around that Tactician is more powerful than any of those cards.  And Tactician can meaningfully be played as your only terminal for the term.  Therefore, Double Tactician is a powerful BM strategy.

Logic checks out.  Also, all men are Aristotle.

And all f.dsers are Wandering Winder.

And if Wandering Winder is a man, Wandering Winder is Aristotle.

And if Wandering Winder is Aristotle, all f.dsers are Aristotle.

Counter point, I've never owned a single card-shaped-thing from a Dominion box, and I do believe my online Dominion experiences were real.

Rouge/Lookout: Eventually, you want to trash your Lookout, but if Lookout is the only card in the trash costing from 3 to 6, you have to gain it back instead of doing the attack.

Not to mention, a lookout wearing rouge would probably be easy for the enemy to see instead of being well-hidden the way a good lookout would be.

To put it yet another way: On your turn, you do everything which the rules require you to do on your turn. Once you have done that, the next player does everything that the rules say they are supposed to do on their turn.

I thought the anti-synergy was when you try to buy one and accidentally buy the other.

Counterfeit/Capital was mentioned above.  Crown/Capital isn't quite as good--you get $12 for the price of 6 Debt rather than 0 Debt--but you keep your Capital investment, meaning you can play this over and over and over...

That combo is pretty neat, but I've found that it's easy to overestimate the strength of it. After all, it does give you the benefit of getting a ton of coin at the beginning, but in the long run it's about as strong as 2 Golds.

$12 + 6 debt is way better than $6. If you are only going for a single province every turn (why would you with this combo?) and only 1 crowned capital as only money, Assuming you start with no debt when you start greening, your turns are: buy province, have 2 debt. pay 2 debt, buy province, have 4 debt. Pay 4 debt, buy province. There you have 3 provinces already before the debt is a problem. Besides, you most likely aren't going to only have one of that combo providing all your money, so this combo is almost always going to be better than just buying 2 golds instead.

EDIT: Yeah, posted this and then realized this was pretty much exactly what markusin was referring to already, not actually "rogue-like" cards like AJD said. Also, 100th post. I meant for it to be my introduction, but oh well.

I thought this article was pretty interesting. Seprix has a good point, that new terminology or classification probably isn't going to be really useful for the top players, but like he said, WW's original deck type article was designed to help newer players evaluate boards differently in order to help them make better decisions about what type of deck they should try to build on any given kingdom.  This article does the same thing in a way by describing the obstacles that you have to overcome and helping newer players think through what exactly different strategies will do to overcome them, instead of just thinking in terms of "Are there cards that will let me build an engine here or not?"  I think focusing too much on Awaclus's specific classifications misses the most valuable part of the article, imho.

Having said that, I do like his classification of the stockpile in particular. After reading the 4 Deck Types, I thought about decks like native village/bridge in terms of combos of specific cards, and it took way longer than it could have to realize there were quite a few different ways of accomplishing basically the same type of thing using several different cards. Especially with the possibility of new expansions introducing even more ways of building stockpiles, I believe thinking of these decks in terms of a new category rather than the specific combos would be pretty helpful for growing players.

This only happened once, and my excuse is that I was playing while extremely tired. But one game I built this deck that would have been a truly massive engine as soon as I was able to call my teacher the first time, only to realize that, seemingly out of nowhere, I had a Champion in my hand instead... I lost badly.

If there are like three people that were wanting to co-lead the new blog, I don't see why Adam couldn't be one of the three. Then if the other two disagree with something he did, like if he vetoes or edits other peoples' contributions too harshly or something, the other two would have controlling interest to deal with it appropriately.  Not that all his ideas are completely unique, but it is harder to find someone with the time, enthusiasm, ability, and (if needed) disposable income available to invest into the blog the way it needs in order to be revived and sustainable.  I think I would be ok with him having some measure of control of the blog, but only with a checks and balance type of thing there in order to help assuage the fears or concerns of the people who were around 2 years ago.

If the engine is the way to go, I can see Princing a Pearl Diver to have a village effect.

Ok, when you include considerations like that, it might be worth it. But if your only concern is avoiding enchantress, probably not.

Turns out Prince is not very good in an Enchantress game, you guys.

It can be really good if you Prince something like a Pearl Diver.

Yeah enchantress's attack is sooo brutal that spending 8 to play a pearl diver first every turn is worth it. /s  :P

Governor/Mountain Pass

A Governor deck is often able to win without buying a card after it is set up, so you can bid all 40 debt on the first Province gain. You should make sure your opponent is the first to go for Provinces.

Just had this combo, forgot to let opponent take the first one, but they literally didn't bid for it at all. 8 VP for 1 debt, I'll take it.

You have to play the throne room first before whatever card you are going to play twice.  Getting +1 action allows you to play another card, after everything on the card that gave +action has been done. And anyway, Throne Room specifically says "You may play an Action card from your hand twice." The market is not in your hand, so you can't play it twice.

If a person were to be opening a door expecting a trap like that and someone bursted through the door like that, they would almost certainly at least have the gun pointed at the person no matter who they are; if the person has any amount of training, their reactions would probably take over and end up shooting the person.  So at the very least, that tension of him almost but not shooting probably should be there if the goal is for any realism in his actions.  But I would also agree that I don't know of any reason anyone would ever grab both weapons like e pointed out.

To add to what Awaclus described, when walking and looking around, the arm with the gun should be bent up where it is in front of your chest with the barrel pointed at the ground in front of you (finger off the trigger, extended along the side of the barrel), so that when you aim, you aren't having to raise your arm from your side, but rather are just extending it straight in a line away from your body to the target like the gentleman in the picture, except the off hand will be holding a bat I guess.

When/if you aim, hold the gun with your wrist at a slight natural angle inward, like between 20-35 degrees from straight verticle.  Some might not do this or have likely never heard of this, but that is a more natural position to be able to lock your wrist in place to control the recoil better when having to shoot 1 handed.  This is a slight detail that probably 99% of people wouldn't catch in a movie though, because as long as your stance and basic gun safety is good, even most gun enthusiasts wouldn't pay that much attention to details like that in a movie.

Most importantly though, just don't hold it horizontally movie gangster style.  It's just wrong.
