By seeded I mean "throwback to the 90s when freecell had 32000 puzzles and you'd go through them, knowing (thanks to a collection of freecell enthusiasts) that each game was winnable (except for one)".

I like playing dominion single player against the MakingFun AI despite their general ineptitude, but sometimes they get a 5/2 split, you get a 3/4 and away you go to an unfortunate defeat as they play off their mountebank twice before you reach yours in the deck - there's a question in the back of your mind "was this game winnable after the 5/2 split", if the answer is yes, which there's a good chance it was you hit the 'rematch' and your opponent gets a 3/4 and you get the 5/2. Away you go to an easy victory.

This is okay, of course, it's a game that relies on luck, but this does have the downside that you can't really determine how things /could/ have gone had you played differently. Enter the seed, the pseudo-random nature of the seed would mean that you would end up with the same shuffles on each play through, and so, you can test exactly how the game could have gone - you know that you're playing against a bot which will get a 5/2 etc.

Since there are a /lot/ of dominion kingdom possibilities, this wouldn't really have much of a negative impact on the players - the games would be distinct until replayed. However, it would give benefits to discussing kingdoms on f.ds, and improving play more measurably against a specific board - this is the general reason why I would like it.

For a possible extension, this could be used to produce kingdoms of the week for solitaire play, and people would then be able to compare how people played this board - however, I understand that this then relies on collating data even from people who are using an offline version.

Edit: A second possible extension would be for tournaments, though I'm not sure I'd want that, but people might.

This might not be a feature for everyone, but I know that I'd appreciate it, at least in some form (perhaps only for when you use the button to take you to play a game from the log) and maybe other people might too.

Summary: Pseudo-random play to allow for the game to be repeated as-is and to compare gameplay with identical shuffle-luck.

Rebuild vs Possession:

Rebuild: Strategy dominating, ends the game quickly, few strategies beat it.
Possession: No clause to prevent stacking (like outpost), encourages the building of decks which are poor for being possessed and good at possessing often, high cost means that it loses to rushes -- long, slow and resentful games.

I think when I play in a rebuild game I mind less than playing a possession game. Possession isn't the problem though, for me, it's the fact that it stacks and has weird interacts with things like coin tokens.

But what if there's only 1 card? The game will be stuck in perpetuity.

Goons.

I hate Goons, but "discard to 3" is way better than "maybe gain a card that you want, maybe give your opponent something bad". Compare to Soothsayer "give you a gold, give your opponent something bad.

I tried to use them yesterday. I think I bought my salvager too late. Because it was a port board I thought it could be useful. I was wrong. It was only a 5/3 split on the provinces though, so maybe better implementation could have worked.

Artificer is a card that rewards being able to draw your deck twice. Which is neat.

Two tokens puts it on par with Butcher without the trash, but then gives a buy and a coin for this turn. That's probably better than butcher. If you're playing this two times a turn you could get +5 from two, that's way too much for a $4. I think it seems like an average 4.

I'm going to use this to exchange disciples to teachers mid-game :).

Ball causes you to gain cards, and activating the bonus on Port requires you to buy cards.

Expedition is a terrible idea when there's a discard attack on the board.  That ought to have been incredibly obvious though.

The second is a "not necessarily". Like the extra card from Margrave every attack. You get the best three of seven. This isn't edge casing either, if you don't want silver then it's getting you a possibly better hand plus a bit of cycling.

I played a game today where my opponent got an 8/2 split having only bought one, and I bought 2. It was a little frustrating, but a bad split does make a difference when you have most of them they together add up to +3 or +4. As eventually you hit your treasures if you're playing many of them.

I play a lot on public transport, if I'm near the end of my journey it's quite frustrating having to resign when the match is evenly split.

Especially when everyone can see that's not a good idea.

eHalcyon, Masquerade isn't an attack, and you could do that by setting aside a card from the supply with a dove token etc.

Cycle more to upgrade Travelers faster?

As long as you can get them out of the trash with an inn or herald buy, sure.

The art on this card is my favourite so far of the set.

I don't like the idea of someone using storyteller that gets treasures in play, then getting to trash those when they only draw two coppers. That seems too cheap to me. A 4 cost could be fine, then workshop would be happy.

You should have optional top-decking when you trash, just to be contrary :)

This is a big hitter, it needs to be less of one. You need to coincide a gold and silver to reach it, but that's how a lot of golds are bought after the first.

I like trashing treasures to gain. Trashing a silver and a gold for one better card is actually really good. But the top decking of a 5 is another big gain.

So this card would dominate games. Which isn't exciting. But you also want this to be viable in games with platinum.

My suggestions:
this should cost 5. It means you can't mine a copper into it, but it also means that you can't use your played silver and gold for buys after they've been trashed. Since you have to have 5 in hand to begin with it seems reasonable. (Unless you want a hand with a woodcutter, a silver and two golds to be able to buy electrum and a province)
You probably don't want top decking. That makes this card even better. Maybe too much so.

Capital won't be a bad card. It'll be great in colony games, but could also be a useful to make mega turns.

Even with a generic board though, it works out as though you're playing a 0, but it can smooth over any inconsistencies. If you can't trash starting copper then you often find yourself with 2 buys and 7 one turn then 1 buy with 10 the next.
If the above holds, receiving the card instead of a copper: turn one allows you to buy 2 5s, and repay the four loan the next turn, still leaving you with a gold turn two; turn two it could spike double province, double gold, or just be a useful second buy.

Chancellor's problem is that it cycles too much - you put all good /and/ bad cards into the discard, and cycling is good because you get to play your key cards a lot. In games with junkers it's a really bad power because of it (until the curse deck is gone) whereas most cycling benefits from it.

Scouting party makes engines which rely on opening collision more viable. At a cost of two, that's pretty decent. The card isn't too interesting, though, it's rare you'll over pay a lot for it.

"Someone dropped his, her, their, nir, or xir glasses" just sounds like you're taking the piss. "A pair of glasses have been dropped (by someone)"?

I've met a lot of non-binary people, but I've never actually met someone who prefers nir or xir. The most common pronoun by far is "they", followed by "I don't really care about pronouns", followed by "just pick whichever you feel like". I feel like with a few exceptions and edge cases, these are straw-men pronouns trumpeted up by TiA users to mock others.

I know someone online who prefers xir, but the others just wanted they/their or didn't care. I didn't even know nir was an option.

I think people IRL tend to go for the pronouns they think will be easiest for people to use vocally. The only person I know who prefers ne is a Canadian. They is a perfectly common singular pronoun in British English. It rarely leads to ambiguity and can always be fixed by rewriting the sentence.

Edit: Btw, I have no idea what TiA is. I literally got a load of medical web pages and urban dictionary told me it was some really cool girl.

Also, it's the morning of the 6th - is Donald a 6am riser? If so, it'll be very soon.

it's worth noting that if there's no other +action it feels like you should probably be putting it on your terminal draw anyway, since you'll probably be playing some kind of goons big money.

If your token goes on your goons you can only play the goons you have at the beginning of your turn (works with terminal draw in form of wharf or hireling), whereas if it goes on your terminal draw you can play one every turn.
