Dominion General Discussion / Asking for Undo
« on: November 08, 2017, 07:29:28 am »
Do you find it poor manners to be denied an undo?  There are situations where it is an obvious mistake, such as pressing the end turn button instead of the end actions button.

I have gotten back into the game recently since I left at the end of the iso days.  I haven't had problems with impolite players on .games until today when I had two players who refused undos.  I am fully aware that I might be the asshole by blocking those people, but I'm not aware of the conventions.  Is that not an asshole move to refuse a quick undo?  I'm happy to follow the norms of the community, no matter how cutthroat it is or not, but I want to know how people stand on refusing an undo.  Am I doing these players wrong by resigning and blocking them?  Is it normal to refuse an undo and still be someone people want to play with?

Dominion Isotropic / Re: memorizing cards

To help you reinforce your tangent, you need to remember that cards trashed with possession aren't really trashed.

Anyway, I've added through seaside since some people have tried it.  I'll toss on the others within the next 24.

Dominion Isotropic / memorizing cards
« on: January 13, 2013, 07:56:28 pm »
To preface, I feel a little silly making an account to post this, but I have never had anything I could add to a conversation before.  I'm not that active on iso now, and I was never stellar, but I don't think I should be seen as stumbling in here as a complete newbie.

There is a site called memrise that is a nice tool for memorizing information.  It is basically a very nice flashcard site.  There are some reasons why you would want to know dominion cards by name.  It's faster online and it allows you to play with the reduced interface.  One could certainly just play to memorize the card names, but it can be uncomfortable being slow (even though almost everyone is so nice about that).  So I put up a set of flashcards here http://www.memrise.com/course/59336/dominion-cards/

It could also be useful if you play with foreign language cards on paper, but that's even more niche.

Anyway, I don't imagine anyone on the forum is thinking 'name X? wait, what is that again?' very often, but maybe if you have friends who you're getting into it or something.  I'm not even that sure how useful this is to folks, but I feel like some people could want it.  I haven't done anything more than the first set (copy pasted from the wonderful dominionstrategy card lists), but I'd be happy to finish it out if anyone would use it.

As a little post script, at first blush this might seem like advertising something, but nobody gains from this except beginners that might find this useful.  I don't really care if anyone uses it or not, and it means a bit of work for me, but if it would help anyone, you know?.
