I enjoy the Android app and the bot is actually interesting to play against. It's a battery hog though.

Potion and two coppers and two estates in a kingdom with Familiar (especially when there is no available trashing).

It appears the page has been taken down as well.

Rules Questions / Sewers & Priest
« on: March 29, 2021, 09:58:17 pm »
I have my token on Sewers. I trash a card with Priest and trash another card with Sewers. Shouldn't that give me +2 coin? Online implementation did not.

If that is correct, why not? Priest says that any other cards trashed this turn generate +2.

Rules Questions / Re: Villa - Coffers interaction
« on: August 27, 2020, 01:34:47 pm »
The first edition rules of Guilds said that Coin Tokens "can only be spent in a Buy Phase." The second edition rules says "Coin Tokens can only be removed from a player's Coffers in that players's Buy Phase..."

Obviously the first edition rules are trumped by the second edition rules but I think the previous wording gives us a look at the Villa interaction since it is really the start of another Buy Phase for that player. I don't think the second edition rules eliminate the possibility of that meaning.

Possibly neat, but how is this potentially uesful?

Is Rats still your favorite card?

Trash a card from your hand now and at the start of your next turn.

Thank you for the write-up of the game. It is one of my new favorites.

Agreed. We played a multi-session game with the suggested cumulative point scoring. So far we've worked through about 70% of the campaign (in one sitting).

Donald got one thing wrong in his description, there are only 4 cards of each type except for the final one. Thoroughly enjoyable game. I bought the expansion which is a separate campaign but haven't played it yet.

I bought Fabled Fruit based on what I read here and played it last night with two friends. It is super simple and entertaining. We actually could hardly stop playing. Great recommendation!

FYI, Sumpfork tabs are up for those that use them. I hadn't checked in awhile so I don't know how long they've been up.

Harbinger with Citadel turned out to be pretty great. Play Harbinger first, put the card you want on top of your deck, draw it with the replay of Harbinger.

You now have two actions, whatever card you wanted from your discard pile, and get to put another card on top of your deck to boot.

I received my set yesterday. I'm not even disappointed about the difference as I expected I might be. Zero effect on game play. Minimal effect on aesthetics.

Complaining to the creator of it will only result in everyone else not getting to play more of the game they like.
I try not to do things out of spite, and it's easy when it's something that looms large in your life, like working on expansions. I'm trying to take a break from working on expansions, but it's nothing to do with anything Dominion fans have said, pro or con.

Perhaps some of the people posting here now weren't around when Donald called it quits on this forum. It really sucked! It is so cool that the designer of this game takes time to interact with this forum. The first time he responded to one of my posts, I saved the screen shot and still have it. It's that cool! Having him leave again would really suck again.

I will receive my copy on Tuesday and I'm sure I will be disappointed that the card layouts don't match. I was unhappy with the bendy cards when they came out and more unhappy that RGG didn't replace those even though it did affect game play. Stuff happens. I ended up gifting the set to someone who couldn't tell the cards were bendy (yes, they knew what was coming and were happy to have the set) and bought the 2nd edition. Just because Donald is available on this forum to complain to, doesn't mean he is the guy to complain to. He is not the face of RGG. He designed the game. RGG owns whatever rights and prints the game and that stuff is all on RGG. Donald likely has no sway over what stuff RGG will and won't do in that regard although he does sometimes have information he has shared with us as allowed by RGG and I'm sure that more often than not Donald wishes he hadn't said anything about that stuff at all.

As long as the backs are the same and the cards aren't bendy, this is a non-issue for me since it won't affect actual game play. It is certainly disappointing for RGG. Running a business isn't easy and mistakes happen that you sometimes have to swallow.

My wife will be happy to know willing to grudgingly accept I was right.

Thanks for the quick response. Thanks for a great game.

Innovation is great for nearly every Tavern Mat card, Hireling, and as previously mentioned, makes Treasure Map much easier to use.

Between the mechanics of Star Chart and Secret Passage, it seems like Stash should be implemented now online. It certainly doesn't need to have a different back in the online version since it will automatically be pulled out of the deck instead of having to track it down IRL.

I said 'nearly' on the Tavern Mat card because I didn't want to have to grind through all the cards in my mind and see if they were all good.

Lurker in the game with Flag Bearer is the mini-game of controlling the Flag on steroids.

Swashbuckler harder to trigger than I thought.

25
Maybe someone mentioned this already, but Mountain Village has significant value helping you get through the Page and Peasant lines. It's somewhat luck dependent, of course, but getting to the end of the line with those a shuffle or two earlier than your opponent can be important.
