Fairgrounds, because it is kind of underrated.

I have the same problem here. I can not log in (because apparently there is no account with my E-mail adress) nor can I play as a guest.

It is back up.
Sort of. I for one can't create any games.
(funnily enough, when automatching, the extension can create games for me np.)

It should gain the estate into your hand to make it more interesting in engines imho.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: How do you deal with Possession?
« on: December 15, 2013, 08:17:27 am »
4.)  Respect trash for benefit (TfB).  TfB becomes a liability in your deck when opponents go Possession.  Either use them earlier and then find a way to get rid of them or ignore them.  Ambassador and Masquerate are exceptionally deadly as they can gift Provinces.
If Masquerade and Ambassador are on the board you should just go for Possession yourself and hope for the best. Ignoring them does not really help against Possession on a board where Possession is a viable choice, because if that is the case, your opponent will just pass an Ambassador or a Masquerade to you.
The thing is, if these guys are on the board and Possession is viable (because there is a good enough engine going on), ignoring these might even lose you the game hard because you willingly give up their engine-building-speed-increase.

The "typical" KC Saboteur rush game thingy also makes rebuild relatively useless. :p

I just houseruled Rebuild to cost $6, and I think it works better.  It's still good, but it's harder to build your whole strategy around the one card that way.
I am pretty sure Rebuild at 6 is a lot worse for the game than it is on 5. Like Familiar at 3p is a lot worse  for the game than Familiar at 2p would be.

Chancellor: At first it taught me that faster deck cycling really makes a huge difference in the beginning. Then it taught me that (often) it is not worth it on a terminal because it either leads to collision or just does not allow you to play it as often as less potent cyclers that give you +1 action.

Goko Dominion Online / Re: Possession / Tactician Bug?
« on: December 06, 2013, 11:15:22 am »
According to the log, you (he) didn't discard any cards with the Tactician play, which is certainly why it didn't draw any cards next turn. So the bug is actually Tactician not discarding stuff when it should in a Possession turn, and not Tactician not drawing any extra cards in a Possession turn when it discarded cards in the turn before. (I am about 99% certain that it usually does draw cards.)

Wow, a few days ago I thought about calling out timmytucker on these forums too. He threatened to slowplay against me on purpose because I have my extension set to disable the VP counter, and he didn't like that because "I could write that down with pen and paper and he couldn't know if I did that". I told him that I probably won't, because my brain just so happens to be good enough to add sixes, threes and ones. I had a pretty long talk with him then (while he played very slow in the beginning) where I told him, that I don't mind if he gets a pen and paper to write down the score because I can not check on that, and while I do not like that, I still like it more than him playing slow because he goes through the whole log to check on the score every couple of turns.
But yeah, he is a pretty annoying guy that gets pissed pretty quickly.

Cantrip Silver? If it hits a Copper and draws a Copper, it's providing $2 for you, but not being a cantrip on top of that. It's a Peddler in the opening, you'd get the same $ if you opened Tournament.
Well yeah, not exactly cantrip Silver, the comparison to Peddler/Tournament is better. But the tournament thing is not exactly true either, because Ironmonger can draw you a copper, then hit an estate and draw you another copper. :>

Herald and Ironmonger, my two favorite 4s.
Same for me, although I think Ironmonger should either cost 5 and do something for curses or should have a clause that makes you unable to buy it on turn 1 and 2. I always feel really cheap when buying it on my starting turns because it usually is a cantrip silver for 4 in the beginning unless you get really unlucky (or you got shelters and get a little bit unlucky).

Rules Questions / Re: Mint a Spoils?
« on: June 18, 2013, 11:34:50 am »
The main exception to the "gain means gain from the supply" rule is Thief/Noble Brigand.  The card states that you gain the cards which are trashed, but it does not specify that you gain them from the trash.  It's not too big a deal, since it's clearly to most everyone what is intended.
Well, it explicitly tells you to gain the trashed cards and not copies of the trashed cards or cards with the same name as the trashed cards.

Like with Goons, Watchtower and cheap spamable cards are pretty good combos.

Dominion General Discussion / Re: "Discard a card" vs. "-1 Card"

I am pretty sure the main reason is that there is not a single card in the base game where -X cards on it makes any sense.

I was originally going to have him Herald a Remake, but then all you edgecasers would have mentioned Platinum.
Why no Colony?

[Insanity Wolf: Buys Masterpiece; doesn't overpay]
Alright, start your edge casing.
Menagerie, Fairgrounds, Young Witch, Forager, Grand Market (;)), 3-pile ending, you buy it to trash with Watchtower because you fear the enemy rogue and do not want to give him a Silver, Ambassador it to a Spice Merchant "engine" because you do not want to give him Coppers and Curses are empty...

You know you can trash any treasure with Spice Merchant, right?
That is a good point, indeed.

I've never resigned a game, but I am sure I've had about 40 timeouts/freezes/crashes/blackscreens by now, and I still do have 0% quit rate.

Did you cause those freezes? Or did you suffer from them?
You can cause freezes on Goko?

1. Advisor will be the most underestimated <$5 by far for a while. More underestimated than Oracle was, more underestimated that Rats still are, and even more underestimated that JoaT was.

2. Aside from making you able to open with $5 no matter what, Bakers set up rule will have far less impact on the game than people think. On average keeping your coin for later will be more common than using it on the starting turns. (Big exceptions: Wharf, $5 Cursers, Governor, Mint, Minion and Rebuild)

3. Plaza will be in the top 3 Villages

4. Stonemason will be in the top 2 $2 cards

5. Candlestick maker will be in the top 3 $2 cards

6. Merchant Guild will be a Powerhouse $5 ala' Wharf. A card that does exceptionally well in Engines, BM and Slogs.

7. Besides Feodum and BM, Master Piece will mainly shine in TFB engines, and will be compared to Rats because of this.

8. Taxman is actually stronger than Sea Hag as an opening buy.

9. Butcher will be played as a single card strategy similar to Minion on quite a few boards.

When you overpay for something and the cost with overpay is higher than 4, do you still gain a second copy with Talisman if the original cost was lower than 5?

Well, I think there is a difference between choosing not to overpay, versus choosing to overpay by $0.
I don't get how you can overpay by 0.

a: "Hey, I bought a car for 20.000$"
b: "What? My car is exactly the same and I only payed 20.000$ instead of 20.000$"
a: "Really? You say I overpayed 0$ for my car? Oh man, sucks to be me..."

I don't really like the wording on Soothsayer. I can already see the people I play with in reallife arguing that "Each player who did draws a card" also applies to them when they play it, because they gained a Gold.
