I was this thread old when I found out Gathering was a type.

(Unrelated to sudgy). A few years ago, I made a post here complaining about the way coordinate vectors are introduced in linear algebra. In particular, no-one ever explained me whether, if you write (2,3,4), what you mean is "the element (2,3,4) \in \R^3" or "the vector 2*b_1 + 3*b_2 + 4*b_3 for some basis {b_1, b_2, b_3}".

I saw your first post while catching up this thread and I'm glad you sorted it eventually.  This is taught badly all over the place and, as you've said, doing it right isn't hard!

One thing that might help as you go on is to keep in mind the distinction between an n-dimensional vector space over F, of which there are many, and the particular vector space F^n, which is just one very special example.  For a general vector space, choosing a basis to write coordinates with respect to is the same as fixing an isomorphism with F^n.  (If the basis is v_1, ..., v_n then the isomorphism is just (x_1, ..., x_n) |-> x_1v_1 + ... + x_nv_n.)

(And eventually you'll want to avoid choosing a basis/using coordinates if at all possible!)

Just a heads up, for the play a friend quest, the questholder needs to be the one initiating for the quest to activate.

You'll also be disappointed if the game ends by a resignation that it thinks is too early.  You can probably look up what that means, but the safe thing is to play the game out fully.

I tried and it bugged out on me.  I'll try again next time I log in.

Instead, here's a story about how a control Warrior died by tapping into Dart Trap from Yogg on 8 health whilst I had Malygos on the board.

I had no other cards.

The church I work at

I'm lacking some cultural context here.  What does that involve?  The churches I've come across don't have anything resembling staff, and certainly not enough to develop an attendant bureaucracy.

Better finish this Priest quest -- might as well try Wild.  Hmm, I've dropped to Rank 24.  Whoa, that's an aggressive start for a Mage.

Coin/Mana Wyrm/Mana Wyrm.

So... is there a must-craft Legendary in this set?

There isn't a Dr. Boom that is strong enough to see play in almost every deck.  The legendaries in Old Gods are good in individual lists, but can't just be thrown into decks at random.  I've not played with any new legendaries yet, as there's plenty for me to play before I feel the need to start crafting.  I can particularly recommend Lifecoach's Midrange Dragon Warrior and MrYagut's Doomsayer Midrange Hunter (which has no legendaries at all).

Sometimes you're desperate and need to ping your own 1/1 to draw into something without dropping your life total.

I haven't tried Mortal Coil in Zoo, so I am speaking from inexperience, but this is the situation that worries me: pinging one of your own tokens is a terrible outcome.  I'm not sure the situations where Coil is better overall make up for not playing something like Argent Squire instead.

I've never understood Mortal Coil in Zoo.  Is the idea that it's a 1 mana cantrip ping that you can use like Abusive to clear opposing minions, and that you can afford the 1 mana as the rest of your deck is so cheap?  Does it not get stuck in hand when drawn early?

You'd think that people on a Dominion Forum would be better at following precise instructions presented in the form of short snippets of text.

Sorry. This is my first time doing one of these. So, I'm not sure how to make the photo bigger or what a good hosting site is to use.

imgur.com is the de facto standard, and for good reasons.

Anyone else ever try doing anything like this?

Hah, I did that blindfolded and without breakfast!

Or am I confusing that with Gauntlet of Fools?

I think the point of the enemy not having attack was that you aren't going to trigger any problematic deathrattles.

Curiously, there was a bug recently that could give your hero permanent attack.  Wispers with Fandral didn't check where it was being targeted, so you could give your face +5 attack and taunt (as well as filling your board with Wisps).

Too bad about block/fireball's ResidentSleeper factor.

Don't worry guys, I'm playing Shadowbomber/Kezan Priest.

I'm having a bit of trouble with the wording on Keep: what's wrong with "at least as many"?  I like that Dominion occasionally has tortured but precise wordings, but I don't see the need here.  And is "most" a different type of "more"?

Let's Discuss ... / Re: rēs cornūcōpiae consultēmus: harvest

If Harvest said, "+$4, discard the top 4 cards of your deck" it would see about as much play.  Which tells us something about the virtue of reliability, as Merchant Ship has a very similar effect and is very strong.

I've learned that 'learnt' is equally valid as 'learned'.
Only in American English, I believe.

I'm late, but we have a lot of language fans.  I use learnt, and dictionaries tend to list this as more common in British English.

All I'm gonna say is that if the site goes down as new Empires Previews are posted, there will be hell to pay.

Is hell a new kind of currency kind of like the debt?

Hell is orthogonal to costs in , , and

Ah, there's the extra dimension in the quaternions.
