I'm having a day that reminds me why I quit Dominion for awhile.

In which my opponent opens Sage-Remodel (?) on a Witch board with no good money-generating $4s, spikes 5 Copper on Turn 3 (!) and proceeds to win the Curse split in a game that's never close.

It's possible he had an actual plan, but he wasn't talking... can anyone spot it?

This is the strangest (not worst, just strangest) shuffling I've ever seen in Dominion. I don't get to Remake an Estate until Turn 12.

I misclick End Turn with $4 Turn 4, but it doesn't matter too much. I go through eleven turns, all with about 10 cards in the deck, before first Remaking an Estate on Turn 12. This even after buying a second Remake on turn 9.

Game Reports / The Possession Spiral
« on: June 20, 2013, 02:36:36 am »
The idea of a multi-Possession game is to get a few Possessions going and then trash your entire economy. Until today, I'd never actually seen players successfully do it. And then, I had this 21-turn, 2-hour marathon of death.

There are obvious mistakes made, but the important part is this: fuck Possession.

Game Reports / Zero Economy
« on: June 15, 2013, 09:18:12 pm »
My second favorite deck I've ever built, behind the one that ended the game with 1 KC, 1 Upgrade, 6 Provinces (nothing else). A Rebuild-Scheme deck that Moneylends all its Copper and buys no money. Unfortunately I didn't hit the Moneylender at all late, so I was left with 2 relatively useless Copper.

Stealth Tomato   cards: 3 Rebuild, 2 Scheme, 1 Moneylender, 2 Copper, 5 Province, 2 Estate

Game Reports / My opponent brilliantly wins from an awful situation.

http://dom.retrobox.eu/?/20130613/log.505de22f0cf2ef979299a5d8.1371191599716.txt

Disclaimer: I probably could have one by finishing Duchy-Province instead of Province.

I pick up 5/2 Minion/Chapel, then do the following:
3: buy Minion
4: Chapel 3 Estates, 1 Copper
5: Chapel 4 Copper
6-9: Buy Minions, giving me 6 Minions, while Chapeling everything else.

On turn 10, holding a deck of 2 Minions, a Caravan, 3 Silver, and a Chapel (to my 6 Minions, a Chapel, and nothing else), my opponent buys a Farmland and converts his Chapel into a Caravan, confusing the hell out of me. He proceeds to use this ability to buy $6 Provinces to take one on each of turn 11-14 and win by two with the extra turn. He needed to never miss $6, but on the last turn he had $10 in 9 non-cantrips and 2 Caravans, so it was far from difficult.

Well done mysterious sir.

Goko Dominion Online / Unable to log into GetSatisfaction forum
« on: April 30, 2013, 12:28:51 pm »
Hey guys, I need help from one of you to report a forum bug. Can one of you post this on the GetSatisfaction forum for me?

I can't log into the GetSatisfaction forum. I have an account set up via Google login, but when I attempt to log in, it gives me a message that it's sent me a code and I need to enter it to continue. I never receive a code (including in my spam folder).

I can't sign up by other means because it says my email is already taken (by the Google login).

The email contact system leads to a black hole (either nobody is responding or the email just doesn't go anywhere).

This needs to be fixed. Bugs in the bug reporting system are incredibly frustrating, and also very difficult to diagnose since they are typically unreportable. This is why I need your help reporting it.

Goko Dominion Online / Promo Card Frequency
« on: March 17, 2013, 08:01:12 pm »
I currently have one promo card (Governor) and there appears to be a serious problem with its frequency of appearance--it's showing up in nearly half of my Professional games. Is anyone else with promo cards having this issue?

Goko Dominion Online / Volume Control
« on: January 13, 2013, 03:55:33 pm »
Anyone else annoyed by the lack of a volume control? I can't play music in the background when I'm playing Goko, because I have to turn my system volume down to 6 (out of 100) or the pings are about enough to knock me out of my chair. For comparison, I usually have the system volume at 30 for music/Youtube/etc.

I'd post this on the Goko feedback forums, but there's a login bug where it's asking me to check my email for a verification code and not sending an email.

Game Reports / Goofy Three-Pile Victories
« on: October 23, 2012, 12:04:50 pm »
You know the scenario. You're hopelessly behind, your opponent's engine is perfectly tuned, the game is all but over... but the score is 0-0 and a few piles are low. Cue crazy three-pile to snatch a 1-0 victory from nowhere.

This is a call for any interesting three-pile logs you have. Here's mine from today, in which I gain a GM, 3 Upgrades, and 2 Menageries to win 1-0 from a deck of 5 Upgrades, 5 Menageries, a GM, a Horse Traders, 3 Silver, a Copper, and an Estate. It's not incredible, but it's one of the more unusual paths to three piles I've seen. This game is also a lesson on why maybe you don't need to cheese out your GM engine when you're miles ahead.

The Log:

Not a particularly well-played match, really, but an Ironworks loop supported by Oasis and Watchtower to end a 6-high pile seems like a really unusual way to pile out the game.

Game Reports / Attack! ... RUN AWAAAAAY!

In which two Level 40+s empty a pile in 3.5 turns, then promptly trash half of them.

Context: It was a Remake game, and we both got underway quickly. He suddenly rushes the Silk Roads, and I'm forced to pick up a handful to stop him wiping the floor with me. I have no use for them, so I intend to trash them; he has no use for 5 of them, so he does the same.

What do you think? The brilliant interplay of two players at the top of their games? Total lunacy?
