I taught my mom how to play dominion. She wins cause I try out random things each game. She plays smithy bm. She says I get to many actions and not enough money. I tried to tell her about engines and combos but she doesn't listen. I got fed up. I used my smithy village engine and played really well. I won.
Now she doesn't like villages. what do I do?

I tried the first game engine against a BM player for the first time last night. I lost because often times before I got to the draw entire deck stage of it I ended up with terminal collision problems, leading me to not buy anything some turns. Is there an efficient way to trash things like estates and some coppers (replacing the coppers with silvers) to get to the draw entire deck stage quicker?

Now I know in the rules it says TRing a TR is giving yourself 2 actions to TR, But my friend told me Donald X. Vaccarino tweeted "I love throne rooming throne rooms and play a card like a billion times"

will writing on the backs of coppers and using them as blanks affect the game? If not, why doesn't everyone do that? Do you?
EDIT: Last night I made some coppers princes, plunders and counting houses
I decided to not made custom cards and just take cards from other expansions

This is how all first dominion games go when I teach people: They start playing BM pretty early on and win. Then they think BM is the best strategy and play it EVERY GAME. Any good combos/engines for the first game setup that beat BM?

So I was playing with strictly dark ages cards last night and went the market square/ hermit route. My opponent crushed me with getting Feodums and hermits ( buying out the pile and trashing some with hermits, and buying silver when he had 3 in his hand.
any fun strategies to counter that?
