kingdom: sea hag, mandarin, horse traders, oracle, royal seal, replace, treasure map(obelisk), rebuild, masterpiece. alms


This game was interesting as I won by having 6 treasure maps. It started as rebuild mirror with sea hags and horse traders but when duchies were running out two point per turn from alms treasure map made difference leading to three piling on curses, duchies and maps.

This simple strategy is stronger than hermit/market square and is usually best thing on board when present. It reliably gets one province/turn from turn 5 and plies them out by turn 12-13 and is immune to most attacks.

Strategy is:

turn 1-2: buy market square.

turn 3: If you are lucky to draw market square buy it and donate, otherwise just donate to trigger market squares. Your deck should contain total 5 coppers+golds.

turn 4: Again buy market squares and donate, you want to repay at least 1 debt this turn. Deck should be only golds and market squares.

turn 5: you have 15 to spend and at most 7 debt, buy one province.

turn 6: If opponent didn't mirror buying province you should be able to play at least 2 market squares to buy province, copper and donate and repay 4-7 debt. With mirror its time to province+duchy+copper.

turn 7+: buy province+duchy+coppers to make province-duchy turns more likely insteod of 12 turns.

Could somebody explain how opponent got ranked so high? Rank 56 player should know things like not buy knights when opponent buys only fools gold and ignore it in pure fg kingdom

Relevant cards were fools gold, summon, scavenger, sentry, mystic, torturer, legionary, knights.

This was notable game as we ended on emptying copper pile. Optimal strategy was to trash down to 3 walled villages+3 goons then depending on debt get 4 coppers or 3 coppers and donate. Opponent tried to also prematurely green which resulted in loss.

Dominion Online at Shuffle iT / adding tie option?

Hi, today I got into infinite game that would be tie. So I wonder if one could add option to make tie there.

It was possession-donate mirror, we both donated for quick possessions, then got about two possessions and village, then donated again to trash all treasures. With debt nobody could afford anything. If one player had some economy then second would win  by multiple possessions so it was best strategy there.

This was one from base games when I got bored waiting for good match. And it was one of my notable loses as here I had worst possible luck despite good start.

I opened chapel/witch with standard plan to trash down and with workshop add villages and smithies for engine that will quickly pile out gardens. Ball should accelerate that.

As opponent opened workshop/silver it looked like easy win.

But then I got completely screwed by rng. I had 3 turns where I drawn 2 smithies, 2 witches without village and couldn't play anything and turns playing only villages without single drawer. as they miss the shuffle while opponent manages somewhat with his two chapels to trash down and then win because I greened with gardens one turn and expected that engine will work, antd not to get hands of 2 smithies, witch and workshop.

Well as thats moneyish board I decided do wharf one. Then as economy I used quest for gold from wharf spare buys. Did you think that I would actually play it?

This was 4 player game, board is quite complex.. Here I was almost defeated by expecting to play versus competent opponents and I instead found that I play versus noobs. Here there are two obvious strategies: scrying pool engine and cultist-bm. Problem is that in multiplayer cultist-bm is much weaker, when 4 players get cultists they deliver 8 ruins in next two shuffles so second cultist might come too late. However if two players skip cultist then one will likely win ruin split 3-7 or 2-8 and have considerable advantage versus other players.

So I expected that other players will get cultist asap and all players will quickly end with quite junky deck. With these a scrying pool engine will still sorta works so I opened potion/woodcutter. I planned to eventually use scrying pool/thief to gain treasures and harm other players.

However I didn't expect that nobody else will go cultist and two others will go sp route, so I started buying cultists despite that my opening was centred for sp. That was bit slow as woodcutter-treasury bm player got quick province lead.

Then there comes second problem with groupthink: piles. As ruins and pools were gone I again expected correct reply from other players which was quick duchy rush. So I started greening instead building engine with more nobles that might also run out.

Luckily BM player decides to throw his VP lead by trying to pile woodcutters instead duchies. So I could in meantime accumulate enough vp to tie score which resulted in estate dance and ending in tie game.

Hi, as I tried to answer question if cultist or witch is better in 3p game I used following kingdom:

Transmute, Chancellor, Woodcutter, Workshop, Feast, Scout, Thief, Cultist, Witch, Possession

When facing two villager bots I completely failed to get result, see following:

Both bots open potion/silver despite only potion cards are transmute and possesion and then rush buying scouts even for 5.

So inspired by this I propose challenge to design kingdom that could be easiest won by sheer AI incompetence. Other entries that I know is ambassadoring rats and bots playing warehouse/golem bm.

This board is interesting, it show strength of advisor that while in hand copper, estate, rats opponent discards rats when hand is only rats he does not have choice and you could get colony from it. I and both my opponents saw this combo and opened crossroads/rats and after while we emptied rats, crossroads and poor house piles.

Hi, after reading Donald secret histories I decided to create a stack inspired by citadel. Now I focus on interesting ideas, balance would be second concern. Like in knights I want upto two cards awesome so buying other is risky proposition.

So here is first version:

Each other player gains curse on top of their deck
and if he has 5 or more cards he reveals their hand
and puts a card you choose on top of their deck.

worth 1vp per curse in deck of opponent on your left.

Master thief 5$

Opponents trash a treasure card from your hand
or reveal hand with no treasure. You may gain any
trashed cards, putting them in hand.

As KC-bridge and merchant ship combos are well known kings meet and decided its time for something different. They want to know which one of them is richest.

In single turn earn highest number of coins possible without using coin tokens, subtract 4 coins for each turn you take (including outpost/possession turns).

To avoid tedious overbuilding of engine you cannot have more than 12 copies of each treasure.

Hi, everybody knows a workshop gardens combo.
Most of you know sicker beggar/gardens combo.
Some of you sicker experienced king's court/stonemason/quarry/combo.
Many of you executed masterpiece/feodum combo.

On this board there is even sicker combo. By gaining two forges from stonemason and for 1 copper and 2 quarries and trading these for 7 silver because opponent tried to go province feoda were 1 silver short to be same as colonies. It could be executed better and 5/2 opening did not help. I also did have time to split 5+ card for 2 feoda here. I did not have time to buy 2 apprentices as fodder to gain 2 feoda.

Probably trying to stonemason advisors first would help, I am not sure if it would won silver split.

Hi on this game i keep it simple but banker bot defeats me, while I try to build a steady lead while banker bot creates a megaturn engine which in one turn buys a colony and five 4vp gardens and festival, ending game next turn by emptying province pile.

What should I do differently on this board?
