The Capitalism Project functions as an easy way to ensure your Poor Houses have maximized their potential.
The only thing you have to do with this after you've activated the Capitalism Project is play your Poor Houses after you've played any and all other treasures you have in hand that turn.

Dominion Articles / Watchtower+Populate+Tomb

Not sure if this has been posted before, but Watchtower might actually make Populate quite interesting in Tomb games if there's enough useless Kingdom cards to be trashed right away. You could also put cards you actually use on top of your deck immediately, including Watchtowers, potentially enabling this multiple turns in a row, assuming you're able to hit $10
I mean, if you're hitting $10, then provinces are usually going to be the best way to go pretty much every time, but in situations where you're only using 3 of the Kingdom cards, getting 7 VP every time you spend ten without further piling out the province pile might be the better route to go, especially if you're down to 2 provinces left and are behind and don't want to risk getting the penultimate province.
This seems very situation specific and probably isn't all that useful most of the time but it strikes me a sort of combo that could come in very useful in the right situation.
Perhaps Big Money + Watchtower where you trash *everything* upon buying Populate would work the best?
I haven't tested this out in live play before, it just came to me as something that might work.

Not sure if this goes here, but Feodum will never not be my favorite alt-victory card, and I say this is someone who generally tries to avoid getting too many silvers in their decks if possible.
Feodum's a classic example of a card that may not seem OP at first glance, but can be extraordinarily powerful in the right kingdom.
Feodum+Delve is one of my favorite combos in the game.
Feodum+Masterpiece is great, too.

Variants and Fan Cards / Smite

I'm sure this sort of idea has been thought of before, but I was thinking of how a sort of upgraded version of Dominate would work as a card and not an event, and here is what I came up with:
I know this is probably a really awful card concept, but it'd be interesting to see if it could be made into something workable, albeit completely insane.

I know that Councilroom.com was generally just a collection of statistics from the old Isotropic version of online Dominion, but are there any plans to revamp Councilroom.com so it includes the same sort of statistics for dominion.games or is there another place online with more current statistics about online usage rates of cards, best/worst opeinings, etc.?

Any other big sports fans here?
If so, what's the best sporting event you've ever attended or watched, and how is your team doing currently, and what is the funniest sporting event you've attended or watched?
I'd say my favorite sports to watch are Gridiron Football (American-style, although Canadian-style is interesting, too), World Cup Soccer (Still pretty sad about 'Murica not qualifying for the World Cup, but at least Germany made it, so that's good. Hopefully die Mannschaft can win the whole thing again) and Basketball. Never really played sports much as I was never the most athletic of people.
The best sporting event I've ever attended was the unranked Iowa State Cyclones upsetting No.2 in the nation Oklahoma State Cowboys in 2011 (am a lifelong Iowa State fan). The Iowa State football team is actually good this year. They're 6-2 coming this season (6 wins, 2 losses) off a 14-7 win over the TCU Horned Frogs. Up to this season, Iowa State was something like 1-56-2 (their 1 win being against top 5 teams being against Oklahoma State in 2011) against top 5 nationally ranked teams. As of yesterday evening (10/28), they are 3-56-2, the other win against a top 5 team being a road win against the Oklahoma Sooners (Iowa State hasn't beaten Oklahoma in football since like 1990).
The funniest sporting event I've ever watched was Germany's 7-1 thrashing of Brazil in Brazil during the 2014 World Cup semifinal.

Dominion Articles / Number of Unique Kingdoms Currently Playable?

Does anyone know what the total number of unique kingdoms playable in Dominion is now with the Nocturne expansion? I know that it was extremely high, but that number that I saw was as of when Dark Ages was the most recently released expansion so that number is probably old (I don’t remember the what the number was, though)

Dominion General Discussion / Ferry/Prince Might be a Thing

Just played a game (vs a bot) where the one of the events was Ferry and there was Prince in the Kingdom. Kingdom also had cards like Goons.
Didn't save the log, but basic plan was to use Ferry to get cheaper Prince early, then switch minus $2 token to Goons, then Prince the Goons. I ended up winning by like 30. It was against a bot so that might haven an effect in how lopsided the win was but I imagine forcing the other player to discard two cards every single turn could have a pretty negative effect on them depending on the Kingdom (getting at least one extra victory point every turn was nice, too
).

Other Games / Race for the Galaxy?

Has anyone on the forum played Race for the Galaxy before? It looks like it might be an interesting game but I'd like a second opinion on it before I go out and buy it. I also know it has expansions, for those that own expansions for Race for the Galaxy, which one is the best one for beginners?

So, this is a game where, given the board, the obvious choice would be to go for a Torturer engine, especially since there is City, and given the early Fool's Gold rush, the Cities are likely to be (and were) very powerful. It wasn't necessarily always pretty, as I accidentally bought a Curse on a misclick, and my opponent's Lookout probably ended up doing more lategame harm than good (he trashed one of his Fool's Golds with it). Despite the mistakes, it ended in a CRUSHING 83-30 Burnination of Royal by Trogdor the Burninator.

This game I just had is a great example of just how amazing Scrying Pool can be in getting key cards like Minion that you need throughout the game into your hand. I don't think I would've won had I not gotten that final Minion to do the deck cycling necessary to facilitate that final Province buy for the victory:

Anyone have any ideas for how to best use each role in Pandemic (including expansions) and best use combinations of roles?
Of particular interest: Has anyone found a way to make use of the Contingency Planner so that it's not completely pointless? It (the Contingency Planner has become the butt of all Pandemic jokes among me and my small group of friends that I play Pandemic with)
