Announcing streams:

Announce your season 26 league match live streams in this thread.

If you don't want to miss any, use the notify button on the top right.
(also a good plan for your own scheduling thread)

Per streamed match, please post at most twice in this thread: Once to announce a couple of days in advance, and once to announce you go live right now.
If you want to discuss streams that have already finished, use the game reports thread.

When announcing, please (also) include UTC times - or you could work with the [time] tag as being described here. Keep in mind that people from around the world frequent the forums and they might not now what their offset to Pacific, CET, or Ruritania time is.
Providing a link in your announcement or signature really helps as well.

If you're also interested in non-league streams, enable notifications in this thread as well.

Announcing Matches:

If you don't want to stream but want to give others the opportunity to spectate your match, you can announce your match here, too.

Some things to keep in mind:

• Please give us the correct Shuffle names so people can find your table.
• Turn the "Spectator can talk to players" option off on your table.

Dominion League / Season 26 - Signups

Season 26 will run from February 12th until March 25th and you can sign up until Thursday, February 8th.

If you want to join or return to division B, please sign up before Februrary 4th.


We still have free slots in C, D and potentially E if you want to join us right now. Deadline for late signups is Friday, February 16th at 19:00 UTC, shortly after which we will assign new entrants to their divisions.

All signups for Season 26 are now closed.

Staying in the league
Please don't post here, but go to the Results thread and post a message stating you will return for the next season.  If your timezone has changed, let us know.  Otherwise we'll assume it is the same.

Returning to the league
Please post a message here stating your ShuffleIT (Making Fun) username, your timezone, the last season you were in, the division you played and the place you've finished.

New to the league
Welcome to the League! Please post a message with your ShuffleIT username and timezone. Please make sure to state the exact spelling of your Shuffle name (upper/lower case, special characters, and so on). You will be placed in an appropriate division according to your rating on dominion.games as seen in the client or here. If there is a reason to suspect your rating does not represent your skill, feel free to describe it in your signup message.

Dominion League / Season 25 has started - end date: 28 Jan 2018

Hi,

season 25 has been kicked off! You may start scheduling matches right now. Note that we extended this season by one week because some people may have issues getting their matches scheduled during Christmas time.
Please don't procrastinate until the last couple of weeks if you have time to play your matches sooner and have all your results posted until 29 Jan 2018, 15:00 UTC.

Note that this season, Nocturne is in by default. Of course you can still mutually agree to not use it.

We may have an extended break after the season, depending on how big the World Cup ( http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=17941.0 / http://forum.dominionstrategy.com/index.php?topic=17942.0 ) is getting. Our plan, at the moment, is to start with next season when the preliminary round is finished.

Dominion League / Nocturne in Season 24

Nocturne is going to be released in the middle of this season.
As this is very sudden for most players, we decided that the default for Nocturne is to not play with the new set. As usual, you can just agree to play with Nocture cards, which is something I'd expect to happen very frequently.
We want to give players a chance to explore the new cards in a less competitive environment, if they don't feel like playing with them just yet.

Nocturne will be in by default in Season 25.

Dominion League / Daylight savings rigmarole

Hi,

please notice that we'll run into Daylight savings issues again this upcoming season:

- In Europe, clocks will be set back for an hour on 29 Oct
- In the USA, clocks will be set back for an hour on 5 Nov
- There are more of these for other parts of the world

Note that the usual time delay (like 6 hours between Europe and the US east coast) may not be given during that time so double check, use UTC times et cetera, et cetera
Also, time zones in the scheduling threads will be wrong afterwards.

Season 24 will run from the October 16th until November 27th, and you can sign up until Thursday, October 12th.


We still have some free spots in D and E! You can still sign up until Friday, 20 Oct.

If you want to join or return to division B, please sign up before October 6th.

Dominion League / Season 24 start delayed to 16 Oct

Hi everyone!

The current season is ending on 11 Sep. Usually, next season would start on 18 Sep, which is exactly when the Shuffle IT Tournament is starting (you should really check that out if you haven't already!). Thus, we're delaying next season by four weeks to 16 Oct to avoid too many clashes.

Four weeks sounds like quite a lot? At the moment, we assume that there will be between 256 - 512 contenders at that tournament, making it 9 rounds = 9 weeks. Assuming further that a dozen of our league-steeled comrades will go quite far in the tournament, it's probably reasonable to wait for the the tournament to hit the top 32 stage.

Welcome to the Dominion League!

 
We're delighted that you are interested in joining us.  In this post you'll find all the basics you need to know, along with many links to help you find more information.

About the League: The Dominion League is probably the most long-living Dominion online tournament out there. It started mid 2014 and hasn't stopped since. You can join and leave after each season of 6 weeks. Everyone is welcome, players at all levels play in the League. You're going to play nice opponents from all around the world. The League is a great place if you enjoy competitive playing or want to dive deeper into Dominion and develop your own play! You don't even need to own cards on the online client.

To Join the League:  All you have to do is sign up!  Check out the pinned thread in the Dominion League subforum titled "Season XX - Signups" and follow the instructions there.

Dominion League / Announcement: Rules Changes

Seasons increased by one week
Some people wished for one extra week in our poll and we're willing to add it as compensation, since there has only been a small lead for people prefering matches of 6 over matches of 4 games.
It already crept in that the first week of our break has become the 6th week of the league, so we're willing to increase the length of our season by that one week. However, we're eager that people follow this deadline more closely, see below. This will already be implemented this season. You oficially have one extra week to finish your matches this season. The new end date of season 22 is July, 16th.

Seeding based groups
At the moment we're usually cutting multiple groups of the same division level based on time zones. While scheduling for many people might seem easier, this method has many disadvantages as well. The average level (judged by the determined skill level) of players in the "European" D group has been higher for many seasons in a row. It happens to other divisions, too, like this season's B. Using some kind of seeding, we can start the season with more equal groups. This has also some nice side effects. As a long term player, you get to play more different players and don't get to play what seem to be the same people every season. Also, the time based system is having more problems with the smaller amount of players that we already have right now. We're having less groups where scheduling is actually super easy because everyone is only one or two hours apart.
With one extra week, there should be plenty of time to schedule and most likely not everyone will be super-far away.
We might want to re-think this policy some time and may not implement it for division E - given we have enough players for multiple groups.

Score penalty for people who finish late repeatedly
With one extra week, we want to attach the importance of finishing on time. Last season, it looked like despite the fact that many people had one match less to play, lots of games were actually played after the deadline. And I know that I just procrastinated more myself .
Thus, starting next season, people who finish late twice in a row will get their overall score reduced by 1. This penalty will only count for the own total and own average score and not for the calculation of tie breakers of oneself or other players. The official deadline to meet is Monday (the day after the official deadline), 15:00 UTC, so that people from the US west coast and Alaska can finish matches easily which they started playing on Sunday night.

Announce your season 18 league match live streams in this thread.

If you don't want to miss any, use the notify button on the top right.
(also a good plan for your own scheduling thread)

Per streamed match, please post at most twice in this thread: Once to announce a couple of days in advance, and once to announce you go live right now.
If you want to discuss streams that have already finished, use the game reports thread.

When announcing, please (also) include UTC times - or you could work with the [time] tag as being described here. Keep in mind that people from around the world frequent the forums and they might not now what their offset to Pacific, CET, or Ruritania time is.
Providing a link in your announcement or signature really helps as well.

If you're also interested in non-league streams, enable notifications in this thread as well.
