Played wishing well 18 times.
Guessed correctly 15 times.
No scout, apothecary or any other deck examination involved, just sheer luck.
One of the incorrect guesses was when I guessed a card not in my deck because I wanted to leave the top card for my next hand.

You want the buy when you will get enough coin to gain two good cards in a turn with it. In the case of workshop, that's immediately.

One complicating factor is that woodcutter/smithy will frequently be better than village/smithy, even though woodcutter will only be a terminal silver to start with.

(Also, you don't need ghost ship for village smithy woodcutter warehouse to beat smithy big money)

Royal seal isn't that bad. For example, royal seal/nothing is a better opening than masquerade/nothing on a masquerade big money board.

Definitely go for bridge megaturn.

Your big problem here is that you got 5 villages before your second terminal.

Trashing needs to be gotten early. Every time you play your bishop it's like gaining a laboratory.

Can you reveal the trader to gain nothing if the silver pile is empty?

General Discussion / Re: Probability paradoxes

Not really a mathematical argument, but say Mr. Smith flipped two coins.
Possible results include:
HH
HT
TH
TT
One day he showed you that one of the coins was heads.
Obviously this rules out TT. However there is no reason to rule out either TH or HT is there?

The reason other people have ruled out TH or HT is that they are ordering their columns as
column 1: coin that Mr. Smith showed me
column 2: coin that Mr. Smith did not show me

You seem to be ordering them in some other way. Let's use chronological. Your possiblities are:
HH
HT & Mr. Smith showed first coin flipped
TH & Mr. Smith showed 2nd coin flipped

Hence Mr. Smith's method of choosing which coin to show you matters to the probability. Provided this method is independent of the result of the flips, we will get 1/2.

With no knowledge about how he is choosing it, we should use this method as it is in a sort of centre of possible methods. Sure, he might be showing you a head when there is at least one head, but he could also be showing you a tails whenever there is at least one tails.

Irate ship: $4 action
Each opponent searches their draw pile for 2 victory cards discards them.

Game 1: Minion, quarry, throne room, young witch, warehouse(bane), salvager, library.
Navelpluis takes an early lead in the minion race, getting 5 to my 3, but it doesn't matter as much as usual as throne rooms are available at 4 and warehouses at 3. Then he switches to gold, which doesn't turn out well for him.
eigensheep wins 30 - 7

Game 2: hunting party, tournament, ghost ship, Ill gotten gains, remake, chapel, university, possession, moat.
Navelpluis goes with tournament chapel while I open remake silver, then we both pick up a potion while i grab a moat with a spare $2.  Navelpluis buys silver over tournament on turn 3 and silver over university on turn 7, which I find surprising, but it works out well for him, and he gets 7 hunting parties to my 3 and 2 possessions well before I buy my first. I grab a couple of ill gotten gains in that time, which was probably a mistake. I get the first province, but Navelpluis gets the first prize (trusty steed). After that I fall heavily behind, but Navelpluis plays a possession while possessing me, and this gets me followers and 2 duchies. Then Navelpluis gains princess and bag of gold over duchies, and a lucky draw lets me sneak ahead at the finish.
eigensheep wins 34-30

Game 3: pirate ship, governer, warehouse, jack of all trades.
Navelpluis opens pirate ship, and I figure that a deck full of governor with no treasure could work quite well and the +card won't help pirate ship much with no villages available. I grab a jack to make sure I can keep getting to 5. Navelpluis abandons the pirate ship plan after they miss horribly, and big money with 2 pirate ships can't keep up with governors.
eigensheep wins 36-15

Game 4: fools gold, festival, border village, remake.
I think Navelpluis got a bit discouraged here when he saw I had a 5/2 split for fools gold and +buy in the last game. He buys border village festival several times with only one terminal in his deck.
eigensheep wins 50 - 32

Navelpluis appears to be a genuinely nice guy. Would play again.

The most important function of a leaderboard is not showing who is the very best, it's letting people find opponents of a similar standard. Different leaderboards for different card sets or different numbers of players would be annoying, as players would have to look at 5 numbers instead of 1

Dominion Isotropic / Re: Huge gaping bug that prevents time out

I have a similar problem. My opponent opened embargo nothing, then stopped taking turns. He seems to be repeatedly muting and unmuting chat messages somehow, which might be what is preventing him from timing out.

18:08 (material implication has muted your chat messages.)
18:08 (material implication has unmuted your chat messages.)
18:08 (material implication has muted your chat messages.)

I open crossroads ambassador with 2/5. On turn 3, I buy a second ambassador. On turn 4, I play an ambassador, returning a curse to the supply. I then proceed to play at least one ambassador every turn for the rest of the game. On all but 2 turns, I return at least one curse to the supply. At the end of the game, I still have 3 curses.
