Maybe I didn't phrase this right: each player has a different pool of cards that he can buy from that add to his deck. They are not in his deck like Magic at the start of the game.

Not quite sure where to post this...
I've had an idea for a while: a CCG where each player has a pool of cards which he can buy from that go into his deck--just like Dominion. Instead of '+1 card +2 actions,' however, they would be 'units' that can damage opponents. Also, each player would have a separate pool of cards.
Does this sound like a good idea? Would anybody be interested?

Wait wait wait, let me check if I got it right the first time: you are working on an expansion of a game that you aren't close to publishing yet, and you've already decided that the name of the expansion would be Dominion, and you tell this here the other way around? In what universe is that not cruel? THE FEELS!  :'(

The name of the expansion is not "Dominion". At least not based on what he said here. I'm not sure where the confusion lies. He's simply working on an expansion for a game; nothing that has anything to do with Dominion in name or in game.

How do you explain the "Oh Dominion" in "I have actually been working on a new expansion. Oh Dominion. No, not a Dominion expansion."?

Short for, "Oh, you wanted a Dominion expansion, not just any old expansion. No, I am not working on a Dominion expansion."
BUT WHY NOT??

I don't understand why these 4 similar cards cost $4 or more, when they are just silver or less. Aren't Bridge and Princess Woodcutters? Isn't Highway '+1 card +1 action +1'? And isn't Quarry Gold-for-Actions? Sure, they might give a little boost with Swindler and Workshop, but otherwise I find them weak at their prices. Am I wrong?

I have tons of questions:
How do you come up with cards? You have said that you always think fan cards are unbalanced or boring, but have you seen any that are good? How has the Dominion community (not DominionStrategy in particular) contributed to Dominion? How do you come up with card names. And finally, what was with that blue dog comment? It sure didn't make any sense to me...

Dominion: Renaissance is a fan expansion with a Renaissance theme. It also has themes of vanilla cards, non-attack interaction, and a new card type: Non-action, or cards that are just +1 action when you draw them in hand; and can't be dead cards if you draw them with a Warehouse. On to the cards!

Thanks for your feedback, but as Ehalycon pointed out, this isn't a fan expansion, and you're right: it's not. So I've made a full one that actaully has a theme, and I've posted it under Dominion: Renaissance. Until then, unless anyone objects, I'm deleting this thread.

1. What do you think about Scout, Chancellor, Secret Chamber,and the other 'worst' cards in Dominion?
2. Why did you name Harem 'Harem?' Did anybody ever question why it was called that?

I mean, being the most hated card in Dominion doesn't put you in many Kingdoms...
And don't I get a prize for guessing the top 5...?

So recently I've been working on a fan expansion (as all Dominion fans are.) So far I have a lot of cards, but I'd like to improve these 12 first. Critiquing would be appreciated! :)

Nobody has mentioned Wishing Well or Mystic yet...WAY too swingy and rely too much on luck.
