Now I'm wondering what's the most abusive card to play during your buy phase.
Leprechaun, Poor House, Tactician, and kinda Horse Traders.
It’s not only about the buy phase. When gaining an Imp, you can play any action during the night.

The only action you can gain during the cleanup phase is Madman, but the effect is lame, probably. Any card you draw, you should discard anyway. I’m not entirely sure about that interpretation. There’s a possibility that in the cleanup you discard the hand and the play “at once”. If that’s true, then you might end up with a non-empty hand before drawing your next hand.

When specifically can you spend a Villager?

At any time during your Action phase. Any time. A-N-Y time!

Herald + Diadem sometimes make it beneficial to spend them in the middle of an action play. I wonder if this gets implemented.

Royal Carriage is also a great enabler. You react only when the revealed opponent card is cheap, increasing your expected VP output.

4
Right. Conclave is not a terminal. You can achieve the same result with a Throne Room, bit then you need two other action cards with different names.

5
Band of Misfits can be played as a Conclave to play another Band of Misfits as a Conclave to play another Band of Misfits as a Conclave.

This can create surplus actions in terminal only kingdoms.

6
Is Prince a Throne variant?

To generalize my edge case, the advantage of Imp vs Labs is that it allows you to insert an action  play in situations where you would normaly had to resolve a chain of effects before being allowed to play the action.

A common chain of mandatory effects happens „at the beginning of a turn”. It involves durations and similar. We can create an example showing that it might be advantageous to Prince an Imp instead of a Labs.

7
I would like to point out that Imp is not strictly worse than Laboratory (barring the standard exceptions)

Here’s an edge case:
- You have one action left
- Your hand: Throne room, Develop, Silver, ?
- You don’t have any other card
- There’s Militia in the kingdom
- Your goal is to play a Militia this turn
With an Imp as ?, you can do this, with Labs it’s impossible.

Can a necromanced Graverobber gain itself from the trash?

I mean he fails to move himself, the rules state, but he can gain a card from the trash which just happens to be himself, right?

I mean when does the „leaving it there” resolves?

Question 2:
Do you set aside a necromanced Mining Village while being posessed?

It seems that what I found in the logs generated a lot of mistrust in MF abilities. I want to clarify that I also don't think it's a big deal. It can only be harmful if: a) You reuse your sensitive passwords for small places like Goko and b) A bad guy (investigating you individually) gains acces to your  computer. However, if you are in a habit of reusing sensitive passwords, then the bad guys probably have easier ways to access them, like your browser data. From what I see, the application verifies passwords like 99.99% of websites do: it sends them to the server in plain text, over an encrypted connection. So there's no fundametal flaw in the architecture.

When you decide to switch from a web-based application to a standalone program, you need to rethink some security issues. Unfortunatelly, sensitive data leaking into local logs is only one of many things that can go wrong. Your program can do more harm to your clients' machines than your website can.

I wonder how the application is going to update itself. How did you, betatesters, switch between releases?

After playing few games, the login screen started freezing for me. So I decided to investigate a little. Apparently the program tries to write into C:\Program Files (x86)\Dominion\Dominion_Data. Great. Let's run it as administrator. Probably the first program launch after the instalation was done with the administrator privileges. Now the screen doesn't freeze, just nothing happens after clicking the "Sign in" button.
What's in the logs?
Quote
WebSocketException: A timeout has occurred while reading an HTTP request/response
Nothing new. Just like with 1.0, the servers can't handle the traffic.

What's more interesting is that in the logs I can find password in plain text. The whole network communication is also logged. :-\

Goko was better.

Let's say that Transmute is referring to the state of the card at the moment it checks (like Procession); thus it will no longer be your Estate with all that means.
Does this apply to all "Trash for X" cards? For example with a Quarry in play your inherited Scouts are worth 0, so if they get swindled, you may end up with a Curse. And if you Salvage them, you get +0$.

12
Is there any reason why Inheritance is restricted to once per game?  Too much flexibility once your deck is full of Estates?
I suppose changing Estate-Caravan into Estate-Fishing Village would be too confusing.

13
So to clarify: If I transmute Estate-Scout do I gain Gold+Transmute? I suppose not, because the card is already in the trash when the second part of Transmute is resolved. However when I trash Estate-Fortress, it goes back to my hand, doesn't it?

14
Wow Inheritance is so crazy, but still looks balanced.

Can I play Band of Misfits as an Estate? If so, with Bridge in the kingdom, is it possible for Estate to turn into Band of Misfited Estates and break MakingFun servers through an infinite loop?

Inheriting Sir Martin can be super strong. It gives you Knights your opponent can not attack with his own Knights. And you can gain 8 copies of it.

Also, how do improved Estates interact with Tribute?

Luckily they didn't have time to finish that feature. How could you enable spectators without allowing cheaters in Dominion?

Ambassador falls to BM every time. I mean, you're giving the AI extra points and cash! What were you thinking?!?
Troll harder or suck less. Goko AI has no hidden cheating mechanism. The explanation of your bad luck is that most people are really bad in judging series of random events and quick games with AI just instensify that effect.

Variants and Fan Cards / Re: Dominion: Gunpowder

I've been reading something, and I've just hit the term gun powder... well I guess it's not such an uncommon term, but it is in the kind of stuff I was reading, I don't think it has ever appeared before. really weird coincidence  ???
I think I learned that word from computer games like Civilization and Age of Empires. That's strange that a Dominion player has never heard of it.

Garrison is strictly worse than Hamlet. That's the main problem with your expansion - cards are very weak. Unless I'm missing some crazy interaction, straight Big Money wins with any gunpowder based deck.

Guess the other question is '[when] will Goko get this?"
Having no inside information whatsoever, at this point my first guess is never. As always I have to concede to the possibility that they've been rewriting the entire program from scratch and then everyone had to take maternity leave.
Wouldn't they need to ask for some kind of licence before using the Prince?

Rebuild. Colony. The game lasted 22 turns. Someone misplayed that kingdom horribly.

Well, I remember that I made a mistake in turn 13. I should have bought IGG. I hoped to give you the last curse  through my Sea Hag (I knew she was coming). Somehow I forgot you could buy the IGG yourself.

Also, I think we both bought too many Caravans. This makes the Kingdom look even more boring.

matste vs noobify:
Game 1:

Code: [Select]
Masterpiece, Shanty Town, Philosopher's Stone, JackOfAllTrades, Counting House, Horn of Plenty, Saboteur, Treasury, Harem, Nobleshttp://gokologs.drunkensailor.org/static/logprettifier.html?20140325/log.517265f6e4b054fd071e3c90.1395813773167.txt
We both go for a Double Jack game plus Masterpieces to gain even more Silvers. While my first Jack misses the shuffle, noobify manages to pull out a mini trick of Schanty Town + Jack. That makes me feel pretty unlucky and I am preparing myself for a loss. Luckily, in the endgame he gets two horrible sevens and I win. If at the turn 8 he had bought a Harem instead of his third Masterpiece, at least one of those sevens would have been avoided. But ultimately, luck was the deciding factor in this game.

Game 2:

Code: [Select]
Market Square, Masquerade, Tunnel, Feast, Talisman, Duke, Haggler, Horn of Plenty, Market, Altarhttp://gokologs.drunkensailor.org/static/logprettifier.html?20140325/log.517265f6e4b054fd071e3c90.1395814308908.txt

My plan is to get a minimum economy with Masquerade+Market Square and then to go heavily into Duchy/Duke. There's Altar and Feast to support this strategy. His plan seems to be massive Gold gaining with multiple Market Squares. During the game he buys 8 Market Squares, but he reveals them 6 times only. I don't like this strategy at all, because there's nothing special he could have done with his Golds, even if he had been more lucky with the reactions. When I win the Duchy split 5/3, the game is basically over.

Game 3:

Code: [Select]
Oasis, Oracle, Sage, Scheme, Feodum, Pirate Ship, Young Witch, Duke, Explorer, Journeyman, Merchant ShipOasis is the Bane.
http://gokologs.drunkensailor.org/static/logprettifier.html?20140325/log.517265f6e4b054fd071e3c90.1395815276983.txt

Another Duke game. This time Young Witch makes it is a slog, so it's more obvious that Duchy/Duke is the way to go. Scheme is a very important card here for tactical tricks. We both open YW/Bane. On 5$ I buy an Explorer, he chooses a Merchant Ship. My reasoning is that the extra Silvers will be usefull if in the engame I am forced to buy Feoda. Also, I'm planning to spend most of my 3$ on Oases, so there will be no time to pump my economy up in other way.  During the game I buy more Oases and use Scheme to put the banes back. My defence is so strong, that when he Schemes his Young Witch, it doesn't hurt me at all. I am confident about my win in the curse war and start picking up Duchies.  At turn 15 my opponent buys a Province instead of a Duchy, which is a big mistake. I win the Duchy split 5/3 and Curses 5/2.

Thanks for the games. This is my first real win in this tournament.
