I began playing some 3-player and have made it to level 58 very quickly because I have never been third player.

Dominion Articles / Re: Donate Part 1: The Beginning

During my introduction to all the new stuff I had missed over years of being away from the game nothing made my jaw drop as much as Donate!

Nice to be back   :D

After not playing for several years it was a surprise to see the undo feature when I came back.

It is still unbelievably counter intuitive for me to even request undos.   I almost always will just mumble 'dammit' and move on.  I still remember the first time I asked for an undo, after hundreds of games, and it was denied by someone who I had even granted an undo earlier in the game!

I think it a cumbersome and awkward feature.  No undo request is without context and a significant minority of requests could be called angle-shooting (in the broadest definition) in that they are requested after hidden information is revealed.  That's not to say people are nefariously taking advantage of it, just the facts of how they exist.   I still grant 99% of requests, nothing is on the line and I don't want to ruffle feathers.   And I have began to request a few more myself, though a very slight amount of requesting compared to my opponent's(which isn't to say that I think I misclick or blunder significantly less often than my opponents, I just keep going).

So while I would never be the dickhead who denies all the requests, if an advanced option to turn off undo was available I would opt out of it without hesitation.  Which is to say I can sympathize with some of the possible motivations of those dickheads.  It would make for quicker games and without the clumsy moments of undos beings requested or not and granted or not, and everything about the rules and mechanics would be fair and known before the game starts.  I think it obvious that if this game was in any sort of serious competitive setting the undo feature would not even be a consideration.  Which is not to say Dominion should be competitive in the way other games are, Dominion is fun and casual and that's great.   However this is an amazing game and there is nothing inherently anti-competitive about it, meaning it could fairly be gambled on, so my sense is that the platform mechanics should strive to facilitate the game's most competitive potential.

Devastating nerf to buzzard, hunter is in shambles, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and think these nerfs are also taking into account the future sets and unseen hunter cards on the horizon(buzzard's old form would always be insanely good as long as they keep making beasts).

As someone who has played a lot of both, Dominion is a great deal more fun.

It's so nice to actually have a card that gets changed to get lots of dust from. Just disenchanted my Golden Eaglehorn for 800 dust.

Waaaiit.. I didn't have internet access and no access to HS now..
they've nerfed stuff?

Eaglehorn Bow only gains charges for friendly secrets now.

There are interesting late game choices with sub-$8: second Council Room? Counterfeit? Duchy? He gets a Pillage and hits my game-winning turn, pulling out a draw.

The Miracle Pillage!  I wish I could claim it was all a masterful plan but truthfully I had no idea what to buy there and regretted choosing Pillage as soon as I bought it, lol.

It sounds like I might be taking a deserving spot from someone who looked to be promoted.  Should it prove to be an issue I have no problem starting at a lower level if it's not too late to accommodate that, being both new to the league and pretty rusty having not played much in the past months.

Finally broke down, cleaned out the binder, and dropped 4k dust to build Miracle Rogue!   AhhhhHHhhH

If you can't beat 'em join 'em, right?  (I hate myself)

Hard to give away the title after only one season but TRUE DETECTIVE has tentatively surpassed THE WIRE as my favorite TV drama ever.

Woo, I made legend!

I had made it up to mid rank 1 three times with my goofy mage deck but couldn't break through the last few games.  So after falling back to rank 3 I loaded up my fairly standard Shaman deck and went on a hot streak.

I haven't been running Unbound Elementals.  The borderline cards I was running were 2x Harvest Golem, 1x Chilwind, 1x Senjin, 1x Defender of Arg, 1x Argent Commander.    I feel like Shaman is where Druid used to be in that it has mostly solid mathups but is slightly under the radar.  It helps Shaman that Miracle Rogue is losing popularity.  Druid is the deck to beat right now.  I'm not sure that Shaman is the answer to druid but it's certainly not the worst choice.

I have every reason to believe that RDU was a victim, I think it's hard to even put much blame on the idiot from RDU's friendlist, it should have never been possible, like Lekkit said, the problem rests much higher up.

Yeah, it was cool to see that a couple of the guys who went against the grain were the ones that ended up in the finals, AMAZ with the only priest and RDU with the only top 8 mage.

I have little interest in a card-restricted format, similar to how I would have little interest in playing a basic-set-only Dominion tournament I suppose.

Big time drama in the Dreamhack finals in which one player was receiving mid-game messages of what cards his opponent held.  Despite this happening in sight of everyone on the livestream no game was remade.  He could easily be a victim of an idiot on his friends list so I wouldn't necessarily blast the player, but it looks very bad.  I think it shows a real lack of preparation from the organizers not to anticipate such a problem to prevent it from happening beforehand.  I imagine future tournaments will be handled differently.  Growing pains for the game, hopefully.

Here is a reddit thread overflowing with drama if anyone is interested: http://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/28bdt3/dreamhack_finals_controversy_megathread/
