So, 2 days left.
We have currently 6 guaranteed countries in the tournament: Japan, Netherlands, USA, UK, Germany and Sweden.
Japan and USA already have enough for a second team (USA would have even more, but I don't think I'd permit more than two teams, but we'll see).
Finland, Australia and France only have 1 player missing (and ashersky could possibly play for Australia) so I really really hope someone could convince anyone to find one more player for Finland and France respectively.
UK is one player short to form a second team.
This would make 12 teams to go for the tournament.
There's also the possibility to form a "Rest of Europe team" with 2x Belgium, 1x Greece, 1x Denmark and 1x Russia where one player has to sit out and a "Rest of the Rest" team with 2x Canada and 1x Argentina if one more player signs up.

If we don't find another French player and one of the Belgian players is a Wallon (French-speaker), we could do a Team Francophonie.

If there's no more signups, then maybe Denmark and Finland could be put together to form a Nordic team.
Sweden is also a part of the nordic countries, so it's not a perfect suggestion, but it's an idea.

Unfortunately, I have a major scheduling problem in Round 1: I can't guarantee that I'll be able to play at any time except from about 7pm to midnight (UTC) on Wed Nov 13th. So I may have to take a loss on that one. The other weeks are better.
I'll be very happy to give my place to another player if someone shows up, or if the Finns decide to join up with Denmark or something like that.

This would make 12 teams what would fit perfectly. Sadly this means there's no room for "Rest of the world" team, but this wouldn't feel really "world-cuppy" anyway.

Thanks. I really feel like I need to take this first week off to catch up with all the time I'm losing. Maybe somebody like Soulnet can sub in for me for that first round of matches if no one else from Canada signs up. I think that I am still well enough to at least communicate with the other members of the team.It would seem by the seeding chart that I am the leader of Team Canada.

Team leaders, please submit your teams to me unless already done (see spreadsheet to find your team members).
Please do this as fast as possible so that the matches can be planned (until Tuesday would be great).
Then everybody look in the "Dominion Team World Cup Group Phase" thread to find out against whom you'll play (will be posted shortly)
Game I has to played this week, game II next week and game III the week after. So you can already schedule both of your games.
As the first week is a little bit shorter, it's not so bad if you schedule your first game at the beginning of next week.
If someone can't play, please notify me and the team leader as fast as possible, so that a substitute can be found.

You can look forward to play in the DominionStrategy Championships instead. I grouped Belgium and France because they had 2 players or more each and they are neighbors.

Hey, Marin. I'm sorry to say that the signups are over. Allowing a strong player like you would screw the seeding and would be unfair to other countries.
I hope you can participate at the DominionStrategy Championships in January.

If he doesn't post anything about it by the end of the day Qvist gave me permission (through PM) to assume captaincy of US team B.
