Title: Miscellaneous errors
Post by: theory on September 27, 2013, 05:27:28 pm
If you spot some kind of error or mistake that is probably too small to make its own thread, feel free to post it here!

For example, Tables pointed out that on the main site, card texts with "Gain a Spoils" was missing the "from the spoils pile" clause.

Some cards which are missing horizontal lines on the main site:

Moat
Secret Chamber
Great Hall (+1 card, +1 action should also come before 1 VP)
Harem*
Nobles (text should come before 2 VP again)
Embargo
Lighthouse
Island
Treasury
Herbalist
Alchemist
Trade Route
Watchtower
Quarry
Talisman
Royal Seal
Goons
Grand Market
Hoard
Peddler
Horse Traders
Young Witch
Princess
Dame Josephine (text should come before 2 VP)
Black Market?
Stash?
(I don't own promos so I can't check but I would guess Black Market and Stash have lines.)

*The printed version of Harem does not have a line, but DXV acknowledges that it should...I don't know how you want to treat that case.

A few other very minor differences I caught (I didn't check all cards.  I don't think any of these change how the card plays, but you never know.):

Apothecary should say "...back on top of your deck in any order."
Scrying Pool should say "...that is not an Action..." ("is not" instead of "isn't")
Golem should say "...Golem cards..." (lowercase "c" in "cards")
Possession has a line break between the two sentences.
Spoils should say "...to the Spoils pile."
Vagrant should say "...Curse, Ruins, Shelter, or Victory card..." (different order)
Hermit should say "...You may trash a card from your discard pile or hand that is not a Treasure..."
Armory should say "...up to $4, putting it on top of your deck." (all one sentence)
Ironmonger should say "...Either way, if it is an......" (adding "Either way", and also there is a "..." after "an")
Rats should say "...When you trash this, +1 card." (not "when this is trashed")
Band of Misfits has a line break between the two sentences.
Count has "or" between the first and second options each time as well as the second and third (that is, "a; or b; or c")
Hunting Grounds should say "...When you trash this..."

The site has been slow for me today and yesterday.  Is there a cause for this that you know, or is it on my end?  (I don't think it's my end because other sites are working fine)

I've noticed the same thing. I figured it was due to extra traffic from the GokoDom III finals and the Dominion League start.

I agree, it's been slow for me too.  It might be a global internet issue: http://www.theregister.co.uk/2014/05/19/eu_cable_outage/

I experienced the cable outage yesterday. We were just playing a league match when suddenly I lost connection. I couldn't reach goko, this forum and other sites for about 2 hours.

Funny, that site takes ages to load. All other sites are working pretty smoothly now, including dominionstrategy.com.

Confirm, no doubt it happens for everyone. It's probably a real thing, that malware has actually come from that site very recently. They (memegenerator) may get it fixed soon, that is a thing that happens.

Probably too small to make its own thread? Definitely too small to make its own thread!

I just noticed that Innovation Rules Questions doesn't have the "Everyone has them" description.

New posts from RSP get added to your total post count now. That's new. Is it intended?

The last day and a half, I keep seeing the Dominion League highlighted indicating that it has new posts, but it never seems to actually have new posts.  I don't know if this is just an issue for me or something else.

There's a new mod-only subforum, that's probably what's causing that.

Hmm if that is annoying for a lot of players and no way to fix this forum-bug then maybe we (as in theory) should move it?
If it's hidden for almost everyone anyway I guess it doesn't really matter if you put it a lot higher in the tree?

I would strongly support this, I've clicked on the Dominion League subforum 4-5 times in the last 24ish hours, and there's been no new posts.

Polls with vote counts hidden are marked as "DISCRETE". "DISCREET" is intended (though even that isn't a totally accurate word for that type of poll). http://grammarist.com/usage/discrete-discreet/

That thread has been showing in my "new replies to your posts" forever. And it says there the last post was by singletee, which is not true.

Threads can have a second page?  Now I know why so many discussions seemed to end in the middle.

yeah, 50 posts per page is the way to go.

But on fixing the issue at hand, have you tried clicking the "mark all messages as read" button?

OK, I've killed it by clicking "mark read" button of the board.
But I've actually tried to reply to that topic before that, and only then I was able to see that lost singletee post!

There is a terrible mystery behind that topic, and these pesky Simple Machines might be not all that simple...

And the owls are not what they seem

When I go from General Discussion directly to Dominion 2017 , child board of a child board and then go back to the frontpage, it still tells me I have unread posts in Dominion Online even though I have not.

I've noticed a massive error.

There's this card printed called Scout.
It's so weak, there must be an error on it.

I thought I registered around the same time as I bought Seaside, which I bought shortly after release, in late 2009. Am I getting Total Recall'd?

EDIT: yep, getting total recall'd. One of my fist posts refers to Pokemon X and Y, so that settles it. I must be confusing it with BGG, I guess. Huh!

Super offtopic now. I am yet to read Philip K. Dick 's book, but the movie I adore.
That moment when Arnold handles the bad guy his severed hands "See you at the party Richter" Ahhahaha
I've just finished reading Starship Troopers though, and honestly it's a rare case when a movie is clearly better than a book.

Today, I bought an inheritance and set an encampment aside. From that point forward, the estates did not go back to their pile after being played - whether I showed a gold or not.

When reading inheritance - it  seems like the estates should have gone back to their pile (if I did not reveal a gold or plunder).
Title: Re: Miscellaneous errors
Post by: Jack Rudd on August 22, 2021, 03:34:00 pm
OK, so let's go through what happens here: the Inheritance makes your Estates say "play the set-aside Encampment, leaving it in set-aside-land".

The Encampment tells you to get +2 Cards, +2 Actions, so you do that. It then says you can reveal a Gold or a Plunder. It then says that if you don't do the latter, to return the Encampment (not the Estates - the "this" on the Encampment refers to the Encampment itself) to the supply.

But the Encampment isn't in the play area, and so the instruction, which expects to find the Encampment in the play area, fails to move it.
