I think it's stupidly awesome that we're into the tens of thousands of games played of Innovation online, and hundreds per day. We're even considering beta testing the next expansion on Iso once the rules are stable enough!
And only a couple people have been rude so far...never thought I'd be sworn at for beating someone at Inno :P

I've had a couple people be rude to me for playing slow. It kinda hurts my feelings a bit; I don't have a very thick skin.
yaron, for instance, was very polite, he simply stopped accepting my game proposals and explained to me that he does not prefer playing with me with my pace of play. Other people get really mad at me for being a slow thinker and are less cordial though.
Anyway, I might have to quit Innovation sooner later, not because of the rudeness, but more because I'll run out of people who haven't blacklisted me for being the slowest thinker on isotropic.

If it makes you feel better, you aren't the slowest ... :-)

Thanks for making it available! I picked it up at Origins the year it came out based on a couple of plays in the CABS room, but haven't had a lot of chances to play it. This is a great implementation, as we'd expect from Dougz.

Have you thought about selling the online IP licence to GOKO?

Thought about, yes. Accepted, not so much.

If someone can walk me through exactly what I'm supposed to be doing, I'd love to help beta test your expansion. :)

Basically you put cards onto a board and then activate them which makes cool stuff happen and then you lose but it doesn't matter because it's fun.
Dougz, you can use that for your "explaining Innovation to Dominion players" thing if you want.
-
I think explaining Innovation in terms of Dominion is akin to explaining Formula 1 racing in terms of Darts (http://www.mezzacotta.net/sportsexplained/sports/darts/formulaone.html), but here's a start.
1. Have only 10 Kingdom cards to choose from.
2. Each pile of Kingdom cards is like Knights, in that each card is unique.
3. Also, all of the Kingdom cards are Duration type, and stay out indefinitely.
4. Cards don't normally have an effect when you play them, but once they're out you can choose to activate an effect on them.
5. You gain cards to your hand rather than your deck.
This is surprisingly hard.
-
Don't forget that you don't get to see the top card of the kingdom piles.
-
Assuming that's 6 ...
7. All the cards on your Island mat are worth their coin value in points.
8. Instead of playing a card, you can instead gain a card of value equal to the highest cost of any card you have out.
9. The game doesn't end on piles or Provinces.
10. If you would gain a value of card and its pile is empty, you gain a card of value one higher instead.
11. If you would gain a card of value higher than 10, the game is over.
Still got a bit more to work in there (haven't even touched on symbols or colours and splaying).

I think it's like Dominion with every card in the black market deck. Weirdly, I dislike Black Market but love innovation.
