Here's a festive kingdom for you all, based primarily on the Nativity story. Obviously cards are 'best matches' to things.
Sage
Stables
Farming Village
Knights
Oracle
Bureaucrat
Inn
Smugglers
Spice Merchant
Hoard
And here's the explanation behind the cards:
Sage - the wise men.
Stables - The manger
Farming Village - Bethlehem
Knights - Herod's army (who tried to kill all babies under two years old)
Oracle - the angels who appeared to the shepherds
Bureaucrat - the census which forced Joseph and Mary to return to Bethlehem
Inn - there was no space in it.
Smugglers - how they got Jesus out of the country to Egypt
Spice Merchant - the wise men bough Frankinsence, Myrrh...
Hoard - ...and Gold
Hope everyone who celebrates it has a great Christmas :).

Cute idea ! :D
Strategically, the kingdom is interesting too.

Oh my, just noticed this thread is currently linked from the frontpage. Did not see that coming, I have to say.

Wasn't either Jesus or his (human) dad a Woodcutter? :D

Specifically Carpenter, but for the sake of this Kingdom, I think it's close enough!*
*This kingdom was lacking in a reliable plus buy (Spice Merchant is only good for so long and Sir Martin could be at bottom of pile), thank goodness we can add that without removing the integrity of the theme!

That is very nice and heartwarming. I'm very glad to see people keeping Jesus the reason for the season. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday Jesus!

That would work.
It was only after making this kingdom I realise my scumbag choices mean it can't be played on Iso or Goko, and needs about 5 sets to play IRL. So actually playing it is... unlikely :P.

Indeed it wood!

We're playing IRL tonight, Tables - I'll try to make sure your deck shows up on one of the tables. Which card do you think we should use Woodcutter instead of?
-
Well... I haven't played the set, because I don't own enough Dominion IRL. Probably... Oracle and Smugglers have the least claim to be in the set, so one of those. I'd go for Smugglers.

I had the rare priviledge of playing IRL with Ednever last night. He was on the table that used this set. Perhaps he may comment, if he wanders by this thread. The comments that I heard indicated it was one of the more violent sets they had played. I guess perhaps the Knights lived up to their role in this set?

Oh my. Christmas comes with a dash of bloodshed this year. Just as the Mayans predicted.

You can play it with Androminion at least. :)
