I was wondering the same thing. Either he's really good at Dominion or he keeps beating an alternate account to ride up the leaderboard.

oooh. these are always fun to try to figure out!
the level jumps are at least plausible this time around, and it very well could just be a top 5 player's alt account. of course, to do this they would need a great win rate against top players, and i'm sure someone here would recognize playing them.
naturally though, i am a bit skeptical, due to the existence of a player named Feed Me More who is shockingly below level 0. what is more incriminating then that though, is that when i looked back i found that account at least as high as level 16 back on November 1 (http://bggdl.square7.ch/leaderboard/leaderboard-2012-11-01.html). (and that 16 level drop is not just due to variance increase over time.) this 'Feed Me More' account hasn't picked up as many games played lately, but im guessing they just switched to another lvl 15 or so account to beat up on. this other account would be hard to find, but we can easily use Feed Me More to track FEED ME MORE's rise:

How do you find and pull these game logs manually? I would like to pull my old logs.

That's just the ones from yesterday.
Downloaded and extracted the all.tar.bz2 of yesterday, and then (on Linux (and Mac probably))
grep -lE "FEED" *.html | xargs -I{} echo http://dominion.isotropic.org/gamelog/201212/17/{}"
to get the links.
edit: grep -lE "FEED" *.html searches all html files in current directory for the string "FEED" and outputs the filenames with hits. | xargs echo just puts the http://dominion.iso.org... infront of it for easy copy and paste.

I thought Iso didn't count 1st turn resignations? Apparently, I was wrong.
An easy way to combat gaming the system would be a minimum of turns.
On the other hand, it's pretty hilarious to see these fakes every once and a while.

They've always counted. You don't get to resign without harming your rating if you don't like your opening split.

me and DStu combined likely took less than 10 minutes. more time than that is wasted each day on here arguing absurd edge cases.

Actually I kind of do, but here the strict subset of regex called "string" was enough...
edit: ... which also means the -E for grep was kind of not needed...
edit: actually, when you need call yourself "a" or "Copper" or something, this might need some more sophisticated stuff...

That'd be a bad idea. Opponent has 5/2, you have 4/3, Mint/Fool's Gold in kingdom, you resign, rating not affected?

Well, I was also always against not having same starting hands for automatches.

Still, seems like it would be (relatively) easy to track how often a player is the beneficiary of someone resigning, and banhammer obvious cheaters like this.

Lesson: Don't feed the trolls, ignore them. Nolifer wants to cheat to top a list of people who play a game, he's got issues. It's probably one of you just to get some laughs. Either way I don't care, except I care enough to post this. Once we've identified a person/account as a cheater, just ignore.

I strongly disagree. I think this guy's account should be deleted as quickly as possible! Cheaters like that invalidate the leaderboard as a whole - particularly if they are allowed to remain on the top spot in spite of being a clearly proven cheater. It don't think it is fair for Mic Qsenoch to be denied the official top spot. It isn't fair for the runner-ups, either.
Since it seems that nobody has brought this to the attention of Dougz yet, I have just written him a message about it, so let's hope that guy is gone soon.
I know he might be gone after a week of not playing anyway, but he could renew his top spot by a few further faked games every week. I also think it is good to show him that his scam was noticed by actively kicking him out.
Eternal shame on that pathetic cheater! >:(
